Chapter 24 Injured

Jiang Li saw Gu Jin running out on the road. Jiang Li did not stop the car, but slowed down and shouted at Gu Jin.

"Gu Jin, quick, grab my hand and get on the car!"

Controlling the car's speed, Jiang Li extended a hand so that Gu Jin could hold it when they were almost close. After Gu Jin took her hand, Jiang Li helped her into the car. Once she was sure Gu Jin was in the car, she took out a gun, handed it to Gu Jin without looking back, and then turned the accelerator and drove forward at top speed.

"This is a tranquilizer gun, and the dosage has been increased." Jiang Li knew that a pistol might not be enough to deal with the tiger in a short time, and might even provoke it. The tranquilizer gun could take effect quickly and stop the tiger from moving forward. This dosage was enough to make the tiger unconscious.

Gu Jin knew this wasn't the time to talk. He took the tranquilizer gun, put one arm around Jiang Li's waist, and with the other holding the gun, turned around and fired two shots at the two tigers chasing behind him. After confirming that both tigers had been hit, sure enough, the two tigers slowed down and then collapsed with a thud.

After confirming that the tiger had fallen, I finally breathed a sigh of relief, and my heart, which had been pounding with anxiety, was finally at ease.

Sitting on the motorcycle, Gu Jin was somewhat lost in thought, recalling what had just happened. He had chased after Jiang Li in the direction she had left, and soon he heard the sound of a motorcycle. He then saw Jiang Li's figure appear from around the corner in the distance. He heard Jiang Li call him to get on the motorcycle, and his body subconsciously obeyed her words, taking her outstretched hand and getting on the motorcycle.

Gu Jin herself never expected that Jiang Li would appear here and even save her.

The motorcycle sped forward, blowing the wind quickly onto Gu Jin's face, bringing her back to her senses. Only then did she realize the pain in her chest. Her attention had been focused on the tiger, but now that she was relaxed, the pain was particularly clear.

Jiang Li and Gu Jin drove for a long time before slowing down after confirming it was safe. Jiang Li knew Gu Jin was injured but didn't know how serious it was, so he didn't dare drive too far and stopped in front of an office building nearby.

There are still occasional aftershocks, but they are not strong anymore. This house survived a major earthquake, so it must be of good quality.

Jiang Li got out of the car and looked at Gu Jin's face, which was starting to turn pale. He paused for a moment and sighed. Why had he been saving people these past few days? Nevertheless, he helped Gu Jin into the office building and sat him on a sofa in a large hall.

This sofa must be for entertaining guests; it's quite comfortable.

"Thank you for saving me today," Gu Jin said to Jiang Li after sitting down.

"You saved me before, so this is how I repay you."

Seeing Gu Jin's wound, Jiang Li used his backpack as a cover, but actually took out a small home medicine box from his spatial storage and handed it to Gu Jin.

Seeing that this person had lost so much blood without uttering a sound, their endurance was quite impressive.

"You can keep this."

"I also have some gauze and medicine in my bag. Use mine; these things are hard to find now. You should keep yours." Luckily, I have a habit of carrying important things with me. Before, I only had some food and clothes in my car, which I can collect later.

Looking at the medicine box Jiang Li handed him, Gu Jin refused. He knew that medicine was hard to come by these days, and Jiang Li had already saved him; he couldn't use Jiang Li's things anymore.

Seeing his insistence, Jiang Li opened the medicine box in her hand, placed it on the sofa next to her, and said to Gu Jin.

"If you don't have it, you can use what's inside. I don't want to save someone for nothing." What if they get infected later and there's no hospital to treat them? Wouldn't that be a waste of time and money, plus the loss of a piece of my own flesh and two chickens?

Gu Jin looked at Jiang Li and slowly nodded, saying, "Okay, I'll use it if needed."

Can you do it yourself?

"Yes, that's fine."

"I'll go find you some clothes and see if there's anything to eat nearby." Gu Jin had been scratched on the chest by a tiger, and her clothes were already torn.

Once Jiang Li was sure Gu Jin was alright, he started walking out. After watching Jiang Li walk away, Gu Jin slowly began to take off his clothes, revealing his upper body, and began to treat his wounds.

Jiang Li walked to a clothing store not far away. The door was broken, but fortunately, the surrounding buildings were all newly built and of decent quality, so the collapse was not serious. Jiang Li found a few clothes that Gu Jin could wear inside.

Then he put some of the food he had found earlier into his bag before heading back.

Upon entering, one sees Gu Jin sitting on the sofa with his upper body bare, the wound on his chest already bandaged. He has no excess fat, eight-pack abs below his chest, and a straight back.

The used gauze and clothes were tidied up and placed aside. He glanced at the medicine box left on the sofa and nodded in satisfaction when he saw the used disinfectant inside.

He handed the clothes, water, and bread he found to Gu Jin, then sat down on the sofa next to her.

Gu Jin took the things Jiang Li handed her, thanked him, and put on her clothes before slowly starting to eat what she was holding. She did need to replenish her energy. Although she had food in her bag, she didn't refuse this time, for fear of being scolded by Jiang Li again.

After letting Gu Jin rest on the sofa, Jiang Li wandered around the office building and found some useful items, such as several blankets and disposable cups. Of course, the office building was mostly filled with paper and pens, which Jiang Li stored in his spatial storage.

One floor was probably used for mukbang (eating broadcasts), as it contained a lot of professional equipment, such as pots, pans, and bowls. There were also some unopened food items scattered on the shelves, indicating that the place had been ransacked.

There were no signs of ransacking along the way. No one in an office building would expect to find food, but this floor had been ransacked. Apart from people familiar with the area, there shouldn't be anyone else here.

Not much was taken; it's probably because they couldn't take it all at once and planned to wait for the next time, but then for some reason, they didn't come back or couldn't come back.

Jiang Li even discovered a portable gas stove and several gas canisters, so now he could openly eat something hot.

He washed the pot and several bowls and chopsticks with the hot water in his space, dried them, and then took a large box and packed them with some food. He put everything that couldn't fit into the box into his space, and then carried the box back downstairs.

Back downstairs, Gu Jin leaned back on the sofa and closed her eyes to rest. Hearing a noise, she opened her eyes and looked over with a cold gaze. When she saw that it was Jiang Li, she relaxed again.

Jiang Li handed the blanket she found to Gu Jin and told him to cover himself with it.

"You rest for a while, I'll keep an eye on things. I've found some food, I'll call you when it's time to eat."

"Okay," Gu Jin said, taking the blanket and obediently lying down on the sofa.

Jiang Li left a space between the sofas and broke off a few wooden chairs next to them. They could be used as firewood later. Although it was over 20 degrees Celsius during the day, it was still a bit cold at night without the sun. They could be used for heating and lighting.

After everything was settled, Jiang Li took out another blanket from the box and lay down on the sofa opposite Gu Jin, closing her eyes to rest.

Seeing that Jiang Li was also resting, Gu Jin closed her eyes. Perhaps due to her injury, or perhaps for some other reason, Gu Jin, who was usually a light sleeper, soon fell into a deep sleep.
