After Jiang Li sat down, Gu Jin also sat down on the empty space next to Jiang Li, and Jiang Li couldn't help but glance at him.
"Well, two people can look out for each other, and I don't trust anyone else." Gu Jin felt a little guilty under Jiang Li's gaze.
"Oh, oh," Jiang Li looked at Gu Jin with a bit of a strange feeling. She felt that he was a little different from before, but she just assumed that he was still a little awkward because of what had just happened, so she didn't think much of it.
"There's still a while until dawn. Do you want to get some sleep? I'll keep watch for you. I can't sleep anyway."
"Okay, I'm going to take a nap. Wake me up if you need anything."
Okay, go to sleep.
Jiang Li leaned against her backpack and closed her eyes. After spending so many days together, Jiang Li was quite at ease with Gu Jin's character. Moreover, she would wake up immediately at the slightest sound, a habit she had developed in the apocalypse. She would not allow herself to fall into a deep sleep, since no one knew what might happen while she was asleep.
Jiang Li actually had a tent in her backpack, but since no one else had one, taking it out would immediately attract attention. So, Jiang Li planned to wait until tomorrow, after everyone had gone to look for supplies, and someone had set up a tent for her before taking it out.
The next morning, as expected, many people were searching for supplies in the ruins. After all, everyone was trying to escape, so who would remember to bring food? Even if they did, they only brought a little bit, which was not enough to survive.
Some people found their own cars and simply moved into them, which was already quite good. Others couldn't find a car, or if they found one, they couldn't use it, so they cobbled together a temporary place to rest. Many people saw this and started to imitate it, since it's still very hot during the day and people need a place to rest. Of course, quite a few people also found tents.
Jiang Li also went to find his car, but sure enough, the basement was no longer accessible. The entrance was blocked, and even if he got in, there were various obstacles on the road that would make it difficult to drive out. In case of an earthquake, he wouldn't have time to escape. Of course, Jiang Li wouldn't risk it for a car.
This residential complex was built later, and the quality is already quite good. The building where Jiang Li lives hasn't collapsed, but it's uninhabitable and is already a dangerous building. Some of the other buildings have only collapsed halfway.
Compared to this neighborhood, other places were not so lucky, with the majority of deaths and injuries occurring there.
Jiang Li glanced at the many people setting up tents in the square, then took out a tent from his backpack from a corner and walked towards the square.
Gu Jin had somehow found a tent and had already set it up. Hearing the noise, Gu Jin turned around and saw Jiang Li carrying a tent back to her, saying, "Let me help you set it up."
"OK, thanks"
Gu Jin took the tent and set it up next to his own. Although Gu Jin would help, Jiang Li didn't leave it entirely to Gu Jin to do. Together, they quickly set up the tent.
The two wanted to set up a place to put their pots and pans a little in front of the tent. After all, earthquakes happen from time to time, so it was definitely not safe to stay in a house, and it was even more unsafe to go to other places. It was best to stay where they were.
Jiang Li originally planned to just do something casually, but Gu Jin said he knew how and could build one out with bricks, so Jiang Li let him do it. Gu Jin went outside to find things, while Jiang Li stayed behind to watch over the supplies, since just two tents were enough to make people envious.
Before leaving, Gu Jin thought for a moment and then took out a pistol and gave it to Jiang Li. For some reason, he just felt that Jiang Li was someone who knew how to use a gun.
"I think you'll know how to use this."
Although I knew he had a knife and was very skilled, a pistol was more intimidating.
Jiang Li was stunned for a moment when he saw the pistol being handed to him; he hadn't expected him to give him the gun like that.
"Thank you, I have one too."
Then he pulled out a pistol from his waist. Seeing Jiang Li take out a gun, Gu Jin actually thought it was normal. Logically speaking, ordinary people shouldn't have guns, but he just felt it was normal. Seeing that Jiang Li also had a pistol, he felt relieved and went out to look for things.
Gu Jin's concerns were not without reason, after all, it was the apocalypse. Sure enough, after Gu Jin had been gone for a while, someone came over.
"Hello young lady, you have two tents. Could you give one to my son and me?"
The two who arrived were a father and son. They looked about 70-80% alike. The older one looked to be in his fifties, and the younger one looked to be in his thirties.
"Dad, why bother arguing with her? Just snatch her away. Look at her delicate skin, tie her up and let me have a good taste of her when we get back." After saying that, He Li looked at Jiang Li with a lecherous gaze.
These two people were from the neighboring community and didn't know Jiang Li and his group. No one from Jiang Li's community dared to mess with Gu Jin and Jiang Li; those who had gone to cause trouble before never went back.
"If you don't want your eyes, I can help you gouge them out," Jiang Li said coldly to He Li. "And these things are not for you to covet. Give them to me now and get out."
He Li was startled by Jiang Li's cold gaze, then realized that he was actually afraid of a woman, and roared angrily.
"You shameless woman, you're just trying to get away with this. You're still relying on men, aren't you? Haven't you been slept with by your previous men? Don't pretend to be high and mighty."
He Li believes that a man with such a beautiful woman, who doesn't look like a brother or sister, must be selling his sexuality in this situation.
Seeing that Jiang Li wasn't taking the bait, He Guangwen stopped pretending and said, "Little girl, don't be stubborn. There's no one here to help you right now. Hand over your things obediently and come with us. We might be a little more lenient with you then. Otherwise, you'll regret it later."
