Chapter Ten: Fellow Paths

The gas station lock wasn't easy to open; it took some effort to finally open it. He reached in and collected the gasoline inside into his spatial storage, storing it in the empty tanker trucks. Then he also collected the diesel from the other side into his spatial storage. Jiang Li left some of both gasoline and diesel behind; he didn't collect them all.

It was almost 3:30 a.m. when I left the gas station. In summer, it gets light early; it's basically dawn by 5:30 a.m., so I had to head back now.

On the way back, I took a slightly longer route, going down another street. I planned to check out a pharmacy on the way back, or maybe two if needed.

She went to a clothing store and a shoe store, and put all the clothes and shoes, both men's and women's, into her space. There were also high heels, which she wouldn't wear later, but it would be nice to have them there to look at sometimes. Then she went to a cosmetics store. She didn't have the chance in her previous life, but now that she had the means, she naturally wanted to take good care of her skin. After all, Jiang Li was a girl who loved beauty. Then she went to a digital product store and put all the mobile phones, tablets, computers, and other items into her space. These stores were relatively close to each other, so the process was very fast.

Finally, when Jiang Li went to a pharmacy, the lock was already open before he even rested. Seeing the door was closed, he was about to unlock it when suddenly the inner door opened, and out walked a man dressed entirely in black, wearing a mask. He was very tall, but it was too dark to see his face clearly. He seemed to be carrying something, probably medicine. The two looked at each other, momentarily stunned. "Oh ho, looks like we've met a kindred spirit!" Feeling a little awkward, Jiang Li was the first to react, turning around and quickly leaving, abandoning the pharmacy.

The two were still some distance apart, and it was dark, so they couldn't see each other's faces clearly. However, Jiang Li felt that the figure was somewhat familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had seen it before.

After this ordeal, Jiang Li decided not to go anywhere else and went straight home.

When I got home, I turned on the two air coolers in the bedroom and added ice cubes to them. These air coolers can be filled with water and ice, so the air they blow out is cooler than regular fans, almost like a small air conditioner. I also turned on another fan and placed a large ice cube in the middle of the room in a bowl. The temperature in the room dropped significantly immediately.

Jiang Li had already put everything in the living room into his spatial storage. The outside was now very spacious, since the living room was too big to be occupied by just an air conditioner fan during a power outage.

Jiang Li quickly took a bath after filling a tub with water in the living room. She was drenched in sweat from the outside, even her hair was soaked. After washing, she put everything back into her space. She specifically put the used water in a container, since everyone was without water, and pouring it down the drain would be too noisy and attract too much attention. People didn't even have water to drink, and her house still had water going down the drain, so she had to keep it in her space. During the water outage, Jiang Li used the cat litter box to relieve herself; flushing was out of the question.

The temperature was high, so I dried my hair with a towel after a few rubs. Back in my room, I took out a pre-packaged braised chicken and an iced cola from my storage space, turned on my tablet to play a TV series I had downloaded, and ate while watching the show. After finishing, I rested for a while, filled the air conditioner fan with ice, and then took a nap.

Meanwhile, Gu Jin came out of the pharmacy and bumped into someone. He didn't expect anyone else to be in the pharmacy like him, so he didn't react for a moment. Before he could do anything, the person in front of him had already run away. Looking at the figure that had run away, he thought it should be a girl, and he felt like he had seen her somewhere before.
