Chapter Twenty-Seven: Heading to the Base

The road leading from the city to the base gradually became deserted, with trees and grass growing alongside. Jiang Li parked his car on a nearby patch of grass to rest.

Jiang Li arrived late this time, and there were only two cars parked here. In his previous life, when Jiang Li came with the main group, the cars here were all stuck in traffic.

Jiang Li ate fried chicken and cola for dinner. After finishing, he sprayed air freshener in the car and only opened a crack to let in some fresh air after confirming that there was no smell.

After parking, Jiang Li didn't get out of the car to avoid causing unnecessary trouble. If he didn't get out, others wouldn't know how many people were in the car. The cars next to him probably had the same idea, and no one got out.

But often, trouble comes knocking on your door even if you don't look for it. Jiang Li had just finished dinner and was about to recline his seat to rest when there was a knock on the driver's side door.

Jiang Li didn't want to pay attention; he thought the person would lose patience and leave. But the person kept knocking, and since Jiang Li couldn't leave the door, he kept knocking.

Jiang Li lowered the car window with a cold expression, looking out at the woman who appeared to be in her sixties or seventies.

The woman felt a little flustered under Jiang Li's gaze, but she still stepped forward and spoke.

"Little girl, are you all alone? Could you give me something to eat?" the woman asked Jiang Li while secretly glancing into the car.

"There's no food." Jiang Li noticed the woman's movements and moved his body to block her peeping view.

"Young lady, I really only need a little bit. Can't you give me a little? You should know how to respect the elderly and care for the young..."

The woman was about to continue speaking when Jiang Li closed the car window, not giving her a chance to continue.

When the woman saw that Jiang Li had closed the car window, she immediately became furious and continued to bang on the window while cursing at Jiang Li.

Jiang Li wasn't going to tolerate her. He rolled down the car window, pulled out a gun, and pointed it at the woman's forehead.

"If you dare to knock again, I'll send you to knock on the door of the King of Hell."

The woman was startled by Jiang Li's gaze and the gun in his hand, and quickly ran back to her car, where she remained motionless for a long time.
