Chapter 103 Fair and Clean
While light sources might attract wild animals, it's still better than seeing nothing at all; the unknown is the most terrifying thing.
The group headed towards City S, taking their time since they weren't in a rush.
They had been away from the base for half a month, during which time they had encountered some wild animals, which they had dealt with, and they had not encountered any other problems until this day.

No one outside spoke. One of the men, who had a red cloth tied around his arm, glanced at the two of them several times before hurriedly running off to another place.
Seeing the man's actions, the people in the car realized that although he wasn't robbing them, he was probably no pushover either, so Jiang Li and the others became wary.
Gu Jin looked at the tree branches on the road and wanted to drive straight over them, but the people who were busy cutting down trees couldn't just watch the group leave. They all walked forward with their axes in a grim manner and surrounded the car.
Just as Gu Jin was about to break through the encirclement, the man who had left earlier came up with another man and dealt with the situation. The other man looked shrewd and grinned as he looked at the group of people who were now completely surrounded.
Li Shu, one of the more astute people who arrived later, glanced through the car window and saw the other people inside.
"Gentlemen, I don't know where you're from. We know this area well, but we don't think we've seen any of you before. You're all dressed so neatly, do you have some connections to get water?"
Gu Jin held Jiang Li's hand, looking displeased at the man who kept glancing into the car.
"Why is this road yours? You won't let me walk on it unless you tell me?"
Li Shu choked, somewhat displeased.
"No, that's not it. We've been staying here the whole time. It wouldn't be strange if I asked you guys something when you showed up."
Gu Jin didn't buy it and gave the man a cold warning.
"Just ask. If you don't want to never see it again, then keep your eyes to yourself and don't look at what you shouldn't."
Li Shu was furious inside, but he still smiled and quickly apologized.
"Yes, yes, please don't take it to heart."
"So, can you get your people to move the things now?"
Gu Jin spoke coldly.
"Of course, Erhuzi will find someone to move the things away."
Li Shu spoke to the person who had called him earlier, then winked at Erhuzi out of sight. Erhuzi understood and replied.
"OK."
The things were moved quickly. Gu Jin started the car, turned on the gas, and drove over. After driving a distance, the camera on the back of the car clearly showed Li Shu sneakily pulling a few people into several cars. The cars started quickly, but after driving for a while, they disappeared.
After Jiang Li and his group saw this, they knew that the other group must know the other route and would probably ambush them on the way. They had to be on guard.
After discussing it, the group decided to get out of the car. If the other party caused trouble halfway, there was a cliff next to them, which would be too dangerous.

The burly man rubbed his buttocks, which were numb from being beaten by the perverted Li Shu, feeling uncomfortable all over and getting goosebumps.
"Brother Li, what do you mean by pulling off a big heist? The only useful thing in these mountains is this wood. We can use it to start a fire and sell it to the base for supplies."
Another man asked, equally puzzled, to which Li Shu scoffed.
"What do you know! The people we just met were dressed so cleanly, they looked like they were living a very comfortable life."
And they came here out of nowhere, there's nowhere to stay nearby. They're so clean, they must know where there's a water source.
"Damn it, I don't know where these guys got so much water. We only drink the water we buy at the base when we're really thirsty, and that's not enough. These spendthrifts even have extra water to wash clothes! What a waste!"
If these two are from the base, they must be capable people, because even ordinary people in the base struggle to get enough water.
If they aren't from the base, then we'll have to get them to tell us where they found the water source and how they dared to hoard it.
