Chapter 30: The alien creature pulled itself out.
The huge dandelion stands almost like a small tree, surrounded by countless fluffy pappus like snowflakes.
If you ignore the blood-red veins on its stems and leaves, this scene would even look like a beautiful fantasy from a fairy tale.
Unfortunately, it is not a harmless plant, and Jiang Jie, who followed Pappus, is not the kind-hearted Alice.
He stopped and looked at the alien creature. He seemed to see it tremble vaguely.
This is because it sensed a more powerful superpower than itself and was afraid.
If its roots had not been so deeply embedded, it would have probably escaped when it sensed Jiang Jie approaching, instead of just cowering in place and pretending to be good like it is now.
Jiang Jie walked into the range of those poisonous crested hairs without fear. They no longer dared to approach him as before, but instinctively avoided him.
But when he tried to get closer to the main body, the huge leaves with serrated edges stretched out and shook as if in a warning.
The flame ignited and almost burned the leaf, but fortunately it retreated quickly, shook twice in fear, and hid the leaf at the back.
But the crested feathers floating around were not so lucky, and a large area of them were burned away.
Jiang Jie, who had warned it, let the flames fly around him in a protest. He said in a relatively gentle manner, "Let's discuss it. Dig out the crystal for me and I'll leave you with an intact body."
In one sentence, it was as if a switch was turned on. The alien creature shook violently, and the surrounding crest hairs quickly surrounded it, drowning the shameless human in front of it.
You may be afraid, but when your life is at stake, all you can do is give it a try.
It didn't listen to the advice. Jiang Jie sighed with regret. The flames around him grew bigger and instantly burned the flying crested feathers.
Several leaves of the alien creature suddenly grew and lashed towards him fiercely. At the same time, new pappus separated from its body.
The dandelion, which had been quiet just now, was now dancing wildly like a monster. The veins on its body seemed to be swollen with excitement, as if they could burst at any time.
The leaves that hit it head-on were surrounded by Jiang Jie's flames. The burning pain made the alien tremble, but it did not retreat. Other leaves also hit it forward.
The crested feathers scattered around tried to get closer to him again, flying to avoid the deadly flames, intending to rub against his body while he was distracted.
Jiang Jie raised his hand and snapped his fingers, and the flame split into countless sparks, corresponding to those crested hairs, and moved towards them as if to dance with them.
Guanmao seemed to be frightened and quickly dodged backwards, and soon dispersed from Jiang Jie, but Sparks kept chasing after him.
And those leaves that could cover Jiang Jie's entire body were almost completely burned by his fire, except for one leaf that quickly shrank back when most of it was burned.
At this time, the only thing left of the alien object was the bare main body, and the only leaf was also a defective one, with a big head and a thin body, and it was as ugly as a bean sprout.
Repeated setbacks have completely transformed the fear in the alien creature's heart into anger. If it could make a sound, it would definitely be a shrill roar.
The ground suddenly shook, causing the surroundings to shake as well. The leaves of the trees and grass rustled from the friction.
Jiang Jie took a step to the side and stood firm, then looked up at the alien creature in front of him.
Its body rose upward, and the ground with it as the center gradually cracked and turned upside down.
A crack extended to Jiang Jie's feet. He lowered his eyes, watching the crack expand, narrowed his eyes slightly, and jumped back.
Almost in the next second, the thick roots emerged from the crack and lashed out violently.
Immediately afterwards, one root after another broke out of the soil, dancing like snakes and flapping the ground in protest, making a "pa pa" sound.
The alien creature pulled itself out of the ground.
Looking at this scene, a smile appeared on Jiang Jie's face.
Very good, he came out on his own, saving him trouble later.
Unlike animal-type alien objects, plant-type crystals are mostly hidden in the main root system in the center. If it doesn't pull itself out, Jiang Jie will have to help it pull it out later.
The alien creature, no longer restricted by the land, danced its roots wildly and lashed towards the human.
The power of these roots is much faster and stronger than that of leaves, and they even make a sound of breaking through the air when they are pulled over.
Jiang Jie was at the center of its attack, not afraid at all. He raised his hand, and flying flames surrounded him, and the strong orange-red cast a warm color on his face.
The roots lashed out, but were instantly pulled by the scorching flames. The burning pain spread upwards, but it couldn't break free.
This damned tiny human being!!
The anger made the alien creature whip more frantically, even creating cracks when it hit the ground.
But in Jiang Jie's eyes, its ferocious appearance made it look like a spoiled child, ridiculous and weak.
The flames around him surged and jumped several meters high. Compared with the alien creature in front of him, he looked more like a deadly Shura.
Several roots were burned by the flames, and the veins on the mutant's body became more swollen. The severe pain and anger had made its mind go crazy.
Its body shrank and began to tremble, causing the ground to shake as well. Its pappus flew away wildly, leaving only the bare core.
Jiang Jie frowned slightly, it wanted to self-destruct the crystal.
He sneered, and the warm orange flames around him instantly turned into a cold blue.
Even if I die, I have to leave the crystal behind.
The dark blue flame spread out in an instant. It was clearly fire, but it was like a fierce wave that submerged the alien creature in front of it in an instant.
When the waves receded, there was nothing left at the spot, with only a bright crystal left on the overturned ground.
Jiang Jie stepped forward, bent down and picked it up.
The surroundings were calm and peaceful, and if it weren't for the potholes in the original place and the cracks around them, it seemed as if nothing had ever existed.
Jiang Jie put away the crystal and turned his head. A remaining pappus was floating in the air, trembling slightly as it intended to drift away.
A cluster of sparks enveloped it and dissipated completely.
*
Jiang Jie hasn't come back yet.
While stirring the noodles in the pot, Lin Mian looked up at the window again, but there was no sign of the other party coming back.
I don’t know whether that mutant is easy to deal with. Judging from its appearance, it doesn’t seem as simple as other mutants.
The splashed soup got on his hands. He put down his chopsticks, turned down the fire on the stove, and waited for the noodles to cook slowly.
He turned around, turned on the faucet and washed his hands, shaking off the water droplets twice.
Just as he was about to turn around and sit on the sofa for a while, he heard a noise that made him stop in his tracks.
In the distance, there seemed to be the sound of vehicles passing by, but it was not very obvious.
Someone else is coming this way.
Lin Mian immediately went to the door and locked it. Then he paused, took out the wooden gun, and loaded a few bullets into it just in case.
The vehicle was moving quite fast and was approaching quickly.
Lin Mian judged the distance based on the sound and believed that the other party had probably seen their RV.
With such an eye-catching car parked here, it is impossible for people passing by not to stop and take a look.
Sure enough, the car slowly stopped when it arrived next to them, followed by the sound of a door opening.
"Oh my god, why is there an RV parked on the side of the road?"
"It looks like it's been modified, with solar panels on the roof."
"That's like unlimited power. Is there an owner? If not, we can just drive away. How convenient."
Hearing the conversation outside, Lin Mian clenched the wooden barrel in his hand.
He took a shallow breath to prepare himself mentally and moved closer to the window. If necessary, he would have to strike first.
Just as he approached the car window, the person outside also happened to come under the window. The two of them looked at each other and were both stunned.
"Fuck! There's a kid in the car!!"
Lin Mian paused as he held the gun. Who is the kid?!
"Don't swear." Another male voice said with a bit of helplessness, and quickly walked to the window.
Lin Mian saw clearly the faces of the two people outside.
A man and a woman, both very young, probably in their twenties.
The girl's hair was neatly tied into a ponytail. She was wearing a black vest and overalls. She was staring at him with a look of surprise.
The boy looked much more gentle and calm. He wore glasses, a white T-shirt, and had a somewhat inquiring look on his face.
"Little boy, are you alone here? Where are your parents?" The woman leaned forward, almost leaning against the window.
Lin Mian didn't know what her eyes meant that she could think of him as a child. He remained silent and temporarily hid the wooden basket in his hand behind his back.
The man seemed to have the same idea as him. He raised his hand and patted the back of his sister's head. "What are you looking at? I'm an adult."
"Really?" The woman rubbed her eyes. "He looks so young and pretty. He looks really young."
The man didn't seem to want to say any more to his stupid sister. He tried to calm down and said to the people in the car, "Hello, we don't mean any harm. We just saw a car here so we stopped to take a look."
He could see that the people inside were wary of them, but he could understand that it was normal at a time like this.
"Yes, we are very friendly." The woman's personality was much more outgoing. She leaned against the car window and looked up to talk to him. "Why are you here alone? It's very dangerous. Don't you have any companions? Why don't you come with us? Sister will protect you!"
Lin Mian rarely met someone so friendly and approachable, especially at a time when everyone was in danger and wary of each other. He pursed his lips slightly, and for a moment he didn't know whether he should talk to her.
The other party seemed to completely interpret his silence as fear. He grinned and continued, "Don't be afraid. Brother and sister are really not bad people. They just want to help you."
The boy next to him seemed to push his glasses speechlessly. He looked more like a pervert who kidnapped innocent teenagers. Sometimes he really didn't want to admit that this thing was his sister.
I've told her so many times that now is not the same as before, and she should control her outgoing temper. If she meets someone who is very wary, she will start fighting immediately.
Lin Mian clenched the wooden can with his hands behind his back and said, "My companion will be back soon. He has a bad temper, so you'd better stay away from him."
As soon as he opened his mouth, the girl seemed to get even more excited. She immediately said, "It's okay, it's okay. I have a good temper. Meeting is fate. What's your name, little girl?"
He is really not a child. Lin Mian even felt a little powerless and didn't want to talk anymore.
The man couldn't stand his sister acting like a weird aunt any longer, so he reached out and held her arm. "Let's go. If she's fine, don't bother her. It might be really troublesome when her companions come back."
"Ah~ Let's chat for a while," the woman was still reluctant, but she finally listened to her brother's advice and waved to him, "Then let's..."
"Who are you?"
Her farewell words were interrupted by a deep male voice coming from behind. The three people in and out of the car looked in the same direction at the same time.
A tall man stood not far away, staring at them with cold eyes.
