Chapter 32 Deer's Farewell.
Wen An had two darts stuck in his face.
Crimson blood trickled down his cheeks, dripping onto the ground and leaving dark bloodstains.
She covered her face with her hands and cried out in pain, her body trembling like a leaf.
Lu Nange didn't even glance at Wen An, and took Lu Beiye's hand as they walked downstairs.
Lu Xici and the others followed closely without saying a word, their long legs carrying them closely.
Ji Xian stood frozen in place, his eyes darting nervously left and right.
Wen An, whose head had been hanging low due to pain, suddenly raised it, glared fiercely at Ji Xian, and his voice was sharp and hissing: "Ji Xian! What kind of man are you?"
You're a complete and utter coward! You just stood by and watched others bully your woman!
Ji Xian hesitated, but his leg moved forward uncontrollably, the sole of his shoe scraping against the ground with a soft sound.
As soon as the door closed, Wen An's sobs came out. Ji Xian gritted his teeth, his facial muscles twitching uncontrollably from the inner struggle.
In the end, she didn't follow Lu Nange and the others, and instead went upstairs.
Lu Nange and her group quickly walked into the fifth floor.
As soon as he set foot, He Zhuo looked impatient and couldn't help but complain, "We can't walk separately together. I'm going to split apart if I stay with that Wen guy any longer!"
Before he could finish speaking, Gu Qi and Gu Wan acted in unison, quickly raising their hands to cover their mouths and giving him a look that signaled him to shut up.
He Zhuo followed the gaze of the brother and sister and noticed that there was an object dangling in Lu Nange's hand. He then suddenly flicked his hand, and the object flew out.
At the same time, Lu Beiye tapped the device in his hand, and a familiar melody rang in everyone's ears.
The zombies wandering downstairs suddenly stopped moving erratically.
They mechanically raised their heads, their empty eye sockets staring straight in the direction from which the music was coming.
Their stiff bodies began to move, dragging heavy, sluggish steps, and they ran in unison toward the music.
Lu Xici put down the binoculars, her eyes lit up, and she said with delight, "Nan Nan, this method really works!"
But as soon as he finished speaking, there was a loud bang. It turned out that the stereo had hit a car, and the music stopped abruptly.
Immediately afterwards, the car's piercing alarm sounded.
The zombies that had been densely packed around the first floor now seemed like wild beasts that had caught the scent of their prey.
They all rushed over in the direction of the sound.
He Zhuo grinned and leaned closer to Lu Nange: "Nannan, why do you like playing the Great Compassion Mantra so much?"
Gu Qi rolled his eyes inwardly, thinking to himself, "I shouldn't have expected to get anything useful out of this mouth!"
Lu Nange's eyes, pale as amber in the light, said, "Let's perform a ritual to help them pass on to the afterlife!"
Gu Wan exclaimed with admiration, "Nan Nan, you're so strong!"
Lu Beiye looked up: "It's a family heirloom!"
Gu Wan: "Then we should have let Ci-ge throw it! That way Nan Nan wouldn't have gotten tired!"
Lu Xici... [I wish I could, but my genes just bypassed me!]
A series of hurried footsteps approached from the stairwell.
Qiangzi strode into the crowd's view with several men.
Qiangzi frowned, his face full of displeasure, and shouted, "What kind of trouble are you guys causing now?"
Upon hearing this, He Zhuo instantly bristled, stepped forward, and spread his hands wide: "Hey buddy, how can you talk like that? Can't we just get rid of the zombies?"
Qiangzi sneered and retorted without any politeness: "Making such a big fuss, I thought you were eager to become monster food!"
He Zhuo was so angry that his face turned red: "I fucking swear!"
Gu Qi suddenly blurted out, "Ten packs of instant noodles!"
He Zhuo swallowed the words that were on the tip of his tongue...
Lu Nange turned her head, her clear, amber eyes looking at Qiangzi: "Brother, although it wasn't our intention..."
"But we are indeed causing you trouble. We just saw that more and more zombies were gathering downstairs, and if we don't deal with them now, they might become even more active at night, which could make things even more complicated."
Qiangzi listened, his tense expression softening slightly. He looked at Lu Nange and said, "Daughters are still the best."
The child next to you is quite endearing, like a little fairy descended from heaven. I think you're about the same age as my daughter, so I'll call you Uncle Qiangzi; in this crazy world, it's like making a friend!
Changing the subject, Qiangzi continued, "But what you just did, was it even effective?"
Lu Nange handed over the binoculars: "Uncle Qiangzi, why don't you take a look for yourself?"
Qiangzi took the binoculars, leaned down and looked downstairs. Sure enough, he saw a lot of zombies swarming toward the direction of the sound.
"Daughter, this matter is also in our best interest. Just tell us if there's anything we can do to help."
Lu Nange nodded slightly.
Qiangzi: "Girl, what are your names and this little one's names?"
"Uncle Qiangzi, my name is Lu Nange, and this is my younger brother, Lu Beiye!"
"Nan Ge, Bei Ye, what great names!" Qiangzi praised.
Lu Xici stepped forward and introduced himself: "Uncle Qiangzi, I am the older brother of these two siblings, Lu Xici."
Qiangzi sized up Lu Xici and joked, "Um, young man, your name isn't very auspicious. It contains both 'going west' and 'passing away'."
It sounds unsettling, like someone's about to send you away!
Qiangzi looked at Lu Xici's twitching lips and the others' barely suppressed laughter.
He scratched his head and said, "Uncle isn't very educated and isn't good at speaking, please don't mind!"
He Zhuo laughed the loudest: "Brother Ci, you know what, now that Uncle Qiangzi said it, your name is actually quite unlucky!"
