131. Chapter 131 The Watermelon is Ripe

Jiang Mi obediently did not move forward, but stood behind Jiang Xun, carefully observing the flower and whispered, "How did you know?"

Jiang Xun didn't even turn his head, "My intuition tells me that this flower smells weird."

Jiang Mi sniffed subconsciously. The air was filled with various smells, including the fragrance of the flowers. After sniffing it a few more times, she felt a little dizzy and her vision even began to become blurry.

Jiang Mi secretly bit the tip of his tongue to stimulate his brain to wake up due to the pain, and then took two steps back to make sure he was farther away from the flower. "Take this flower away?"

Regardless of whether it is poisonous or not, it should be a new species. Take it back and let Mr. Zhang and others study it to see if it has any other functions. At worst, we can make some poison or something.

Jiang Xun held his breath and moved his fingers slightly. A few seconds later, a large plastic bag appeared on his palm. He then stepped forward and carefully pulled the arm-long strange flower out of the soil and put it into the bag. He then returned the sealed bag and let out a breath.

"Look inside a little deeper." Jiang Xun couldn't help but frowning slightly as he smelled the remaining floral scent in the air, and spoke in a low voice.

Jiang Mi nodded, and the two continued to move forward.

Perhaps because this exploration was too close to the outskirts of the forest, the two did not encounter any large beasts until they returned. At most, they saw some animals hiding in the weeds and flashing by from afar, and they could not even see their appearance clearly.

The two of them picked some grass that didn't look ordinary and some easy-to-catch bugs and then returned.

On the way, Jiang Mi muttered while drinking water: "Normally, animals shouldn't be so alert when there's no one around, right? Why do they run so fast at the slightest sign of trouble?"

Jiang Xun glanced at her and said, "Humans are only one type of natural enemy of animals, not all of them. If humans didn't catch or harm them, would there be a completely warm and harmonious relationship between animals?"

Although his tone was calm, Jiang Mi inexplicably felt that his brother was mocking his IQ.

It's not that she doesn't know that the strong prey on the weak in the animal world, but sometimes she really doesn't think before she speaks.

"Bah! I was just saying it casually! Why are you making such a big deal out of it?" Jiang Mi said unhappily.

Other brothers are so gentle to their own sisters. Even if they ask some stupid questions, they will just answer with helpless and doting. Unlike Jiang Xun, who is so irritating!

"But what you say makes sense." Jiang Xun chuckled.

"I'm just...it's just chatting!"

"Okay, whatever you say is what's going on."

"you!"

The two of them exchanged words all the way back to Guo Lin's residence. Jiang Mi got out of the car with an embarrassed look on his face, snorted coldly, and ran to look at the watermelon and strawberry fields.

After the protective fence was installed, the two plots of land were no longer damaged by animals and the growth was very good. In just a few days, a large area of strawberries turned red. It is estimated that they will be fully ripe and edible in three or four days at most. As for the watermelons, it seems that they can still grow.

The watermelons are much bigger than those sold on the street. Each one looks like a big winter melon and is almost bigger than a two or three-year-old child. They are also quite heavy.

Jiang Mi was really craving for watermelon. Although there were watermelons in the supermarket, they didn't taste good if they were not in season. Therefore, she didn't buy many. Even if she wanted to eat watermelons, she was not very interested in the ones she bought.

At this time Jiang Xun also came over and saw Jiang Mi squatting in front of a big watermelon, looking around, as if hesitating whether to take action.

"Brother, do you know how to pick watermelons?" Jiang Mi looked up at his brother who was standing straight.

Jiang Xun stared at the huge watermelon in front of them, frowning subconsciously, "No."

Whenever the Jiang family wanted to eat watermelon, they would usually ask the nanny to buy it for them. He didn't even know how much a pound of watermelon cost, let alone how to choose one.

Jiang Mi was similar to him. They were both at a loss when looking at the watermelon. After a long while, Jiang Mi licked his lips and said, "How about... we kill one and see?"

How could she, who had never farmed before, know what a ripe watermelon looked like? Moreover, with the bonus of space, the growth rate was greatly accelerated. I'm afraid only an experienced watermelon farmer could tell the difference.

Jiang Xun didn't care. Seeing that she was indeed greedy, he nodded and said, "Then open one and see."

As if he had received permission, Jiang Mi excitedly took a knife and cut the watermelon off the vine. Then he aimed at the center of the watermelon and applied a little force. With a dull bang, the watermelon instantly began to burst from the crack. Jiang Mi didn't even need to use much force. He just pressed down lightly and the watermelon split into two halves.

"Ripe? Brother! It's very ripe!" Jiang Mi was excited. She had seen other people drying watermelons when watching videos. The ones that crack when touched are very ripe!

The inside of the split watermelon was bright red, and the seeds were almost invisible. Jiang Mi quickly got a spoon and scooped a large spoonful of the juicy and bright red flesh into her mouth. It was sweet but not greasy, and the flesh was crisp, sweet and juicy. It was the most delicious watermelon she had ever eaten!

"Brother! Try it quickly. It's so so so delicious! It's better than the watermelons we had before!" Jiang Mi quickly got another spoon, inserted it into the other half of the watermelon and handed it to Jiang Xun.

Even though it is only half, it is still two times bigger than an adult's head, and it feels quite heavy when held in the hand.

Jiang Xun took a bite and it tasted really good, but he was not greedy, so he only took a few bites and put it on the table beside him, "Eat less, it's time to go to bed."

Jiang Mi responded vaguely, swallowed the watermelon in his mouth and said, "You can bring out a few watermelons tomorrow for them to try."

After all, she grew it with her own hands, so she had to let others taste it no matter what, so that she would feel a sense of accomplishment.

Jiang Xun nodded to show that he had no objection, then quickly left the space.

Jiang Mi lay on the rocking chair holding the half of the watermelon, then used his mind to control the projection screen in front of him, selected a variety show and watched it while eating.

At the end, there were still two-thirds left. Even though her appetite had increased a lot, the watermelon was really too big. She was so full after watching an episode of the variety show that she didn't eat much.

In the end, I had to put it in the refrigerator together with my brother's share.

After sleeping late at night, Jiang Mi felt a little dazed when she woke up the next morning. After finishing her breakfast in a daze, she saw Yuan Fuxiang running towards her excitedly, "Ms. Jiang, Dr. Liu is awake!"

Jiang Mi didn't react and yawned, "Just wake up."

I have to report to her when I wake up that I am sick.

"Ms. Jiang, aren't you curious?" Yuan Fuxiang felt that she was too calm.

Jiang Mi looked at him and suddenly felt something was wrong. His chaotic mind finally began to clear up. He asked hesitantly, "Dr. Liu? Liu Ji?"

Yuan Fuxiang nodded vigorously, "Yes!"

Jiang Mi touched his nose awkwardly and ran quickly towards Liu Ji's house, "Go and have a look!"
