Chapter 54 Acid Rain
After becoming a person with super powers, his strong sense of insensitivity made him feel that someone was approaching secretly.
After closing his eyes and feeling it carefully, Jiang Xun had an idea in his mind. He turned his head to glance at Jiang Mi who was still unconscious, quietly got out of bed, opened the door and walked out.
The place they found this time was the top floor of a high-rise building. The entire building, including all the mutants in the surrounding area, had already been cleared out by the two of them. Unexpectedly, it made it convenient for this group of people to sneak in.
It seems that these people had seen them a long time ago.
Thinking of this, Jiang Xun's eyes were cold and sharp, and he walked downstairs slowly.
I went down three floors before I stopped at the entrance of the corridor. The faint and chaotic footsteps in my ears became clearer and clearer.
Jiang Xun lit a cigarette and leaned against the wall, waiting quietly. His whole body was wrapped in thick darkness, with only a little scarlet flickering in the darkness.
After a moment, a black shadow appeared at the corner of the corridor, followed closely by two people.
Jiang Xun watched silently and didn't rush to take action because he heard there were five people.
The leader didn't think that anyone would notice them, so he didn't look up. Only when he turned the corner and stepped onto the stairs did he finally feel something was wrong. When he looked up, he saw a tall, blurry figure standing at the stairs, as if he had been waiting for them for a long time.
Jiang Xun exhaled a puff of smoke, his eyes fell on the two people who appeared behind the three people, his eyes were indifferent, arcs of electricity flashed at his fingertips, five crackling blue and purple electric lights shot out from his hands in the blink of an eye, the five people didn't even have time to react before they were electrocuted and convulsed all over, and within two breaths they rolled their eyes and fell to the ground without breathing.
Looking at the five corpses blocking the corridor, Jiang Xun frowned slightly, then put out the cigarette in his hand and walked slowly down, grabbing the foot of a corpse with one hand and dragging it downstairs.
There happened to be a house downstairs whose door was open. He dragged the bodies into the room one by one and took away all the hot weapons they were carrying. Then he walked back slowly.
Only ten minutes had passed since he finished all this. When he returned to the house, Jiang Mi was still asleep, but the snoring had stopped. He curled up in the quilt and slept peacefully.
Early the next morning.
After Jiang Mi got up, he saw several guns piled in the corner. Without asking any questions, he raised his hand to put them into the space and started to wash up.
After Meimei had breakfast, the two went downstairs.
However, the weather was not good. The sky, which had been clear for just two days, became cloudy again, and it started raining not long after we left.
Jiang Xun touched the raindrops falling on his face. The places touched by the rain felt a little stinging, and the raindrops were getting bigger and denser.
"It's acid rain." Jiang Xun frowned slightly.
Jiang Mi was wrapped up so tightly that he didn't notice anything unusual. When he heard what Jiang Xun said, he quickly found a shop on the side of the road and went in.
There was a mutant huddled in the corner of the store. When he saw the two of them, he roared and rushed over. Jiang Xun ruthlessly struck him with an electric arc and turned him into charcoal and threw him out of the store.
The store smells a bit bad, but it's really not suitable to stay outside because it's raining acid.
Jiang Mi took two chairs and sat at the door with Jiang Xun, one on each side.
Watching the increasingly heavy rain, Jiang Mi sighed and squinted at the gray sky, "Once the acid rain comes, this winter will be over."
The duration of the acid rain was no different from that in the previous life. After this rain, the snow would completely melt in another month, the hot summer was about to arrive, the mutants began to become stronger, and human supplies became even more scarce.
"We have to build our own base as soon as possible before summer comes." Jiang Mi thought, "It's a bit cold now, but we can always bear it by wearing more clothes. When summer comes, the sun will be so strong that it will peel off our skin."
“It will be difficult to gather the survivors by then.”
Jiang Xun nodded. He had naturally thought of that, so he had to hurry to find Xing Shaoan.
"I don't know how my parents are doing now." Jiang Mi couldn't help but mutter softly again, a hint of longing flashing in his eyes.
I guess my parents must miss them too in the air-raid shelter.
It's been a month since I came out, but I haven't even heard any news about Xing Shaoan, let alone researching and bringing back advanced potions.
I don’t know if I can go back before the Chinese New Year this year.
Although no one has thought about holidays anymore, the Chinese New Year is an emotion deeply engraved in the bones of the Chinese people.
With his hands tucked into his sleeves, Jiang Mi leaned against the door and smacked his lips, "I want to eat the New Year's Eve dinner my dad made, but it's a pity that I can't watch the Spring Festival Gala this year, even though it's getting uglier every year."
"But we can set off fireworks and firecrackers as much as we want, hehe."
She kept mumbling, and Jiang Xun just listened quietly. Sometimes when he heard something outrageous, he couldn't help but reveal a helpless look and reach out to knock her on the head.
The acid rain lasted the whole morning, and by noon it had finally subsided, with only light drizzles left. Jiang Mi couldn't wait any longer, so the two of them decided to start exploring with umbrellas open.
The snow after the rain was very muddy, with dirty water splashing everywhere. Jiang Mi couldn't help but change into rain boots, and Jiang Xun also changed into tactical boots. They each held an umbrella over their heads and walked carefully in the snow. The mixture of ice and water was like black smoothie, and a rustling sound came under their feet.
As he walked, Jiang Mi searched for things in various shops along the road.
When they saw the shopping mall, they went in and swept it clean until only the wall was left, except for the things that could not be moved.
When seeing a police station, Jiang Mi's eyes lit up and he pulled Jiang Xun's sleeve to motion for him to go over.
However, as soon as the two walked to the door, they found that the door was locked from the inside and even blocked by something.
Jiang Mi poked his head and took a look inside, but it was pitch black and he couldn't see anything.
"Stand there! Don't move! Raise your hands above your head! Turn around slowly!"
Suddenly, a loud shout came from behind, and the voice sounded quite young.
Jiang Mi and Jiang Xun beside him looked at each other, and they both obediently raised their hands above their heads and slowly turned around.
Not far behind them was a man wrapped tightly in a layer of cloth, neither fat nor thin, holding a gun in his hand and pointing it at the two men. There were several people around him, some tall, some short, some fat, some thin, all staring at them vigilantly.
"Now! Immediately! Get out of here!" the man raised the gun and said coldly.
Jiang Mi's eyes moved slightly, and he said in a gentle and soothing tone: "Don't be nervous, there are only two of us, and you have so many people and guns, so can we chat for a while? We are from other cities and didn't mean to come here. We didn't know this was your place, and we have no ill intentions."
Perhaps because he heard that her voice was a woman's, the tense atmosphere suddenly eased a lot, but the man still did not let down his guard, holding the gun with a steady hand, "Which city are you from?"
"We are from P City." Jiang Mi replied. She felt relieved at the man's question.
As long as we can still communicate.
