Chapter 34 Underwater Zombies
the next day.
Qin Zhuo and his group carefully searched the area for supplies for a while.
They found a more spacious car, which, although somewhat old on the outside, had a large interior.
The group quickly switched to the slightly cramped sports car and then drove away from the area.
"Brother Qin, we have to cross a big bridge ahead, but I have a feeling we can't get across it." Sitting in the passenger seat, Chen Yunfei frowned as he carefully examined the map, muttering, "The bridge is definitely jammed with cars, and there might even be a lot of corpses on it. If we take another route, we'll have to go a long way around."
Qin Zhuo looked ahead and said, "Let's drive over there and see what the situation is like."
The car drove on and then stopped by the river.
Looking up, the bridge was indeed a mess. There was no road to pass through, cars were blocked up haphazardly, and corpses were scattered everywhere, emitting a nauseating stench.
If we abandon the car and walk there, it wouldn't be a bad idea, but it would be a real shame to lose the car we finally found.
Chen Yunfei looked at the bridge and said, "Brother Qin, how about we take a detour?"
Qin Zhuo did not respond immediately, but simply opened the door and got out of the car, then said, "Everyone get out of the car and walk over."
Upon hearing this, Chen Yunfei immediately became anxious and pointed at the car, asking, "What should we do with this car?"
Qin Zhuo glanced at Youxiang, who was curiously looking around, and said, "Why don't we just put Xiaoyouzi into our space?"
Upon hearing Qin Zhuo call her name, Youxiang immediately looked at him and nodded her little head slightly.
She's about to fill the warehouse she just built in the farming game with more stuff; she feels like she needs to build a few more warehouses.
Chen Yunfei slapped his forehead, suddenly realizing, "Oh dear, how could I forget that! When I changed cars before, I shouldn't have left that one there, but instead put it into Little Pomelo Space. It's all my fault for not thinking of that."
The four of them got out of the car one after another. Yu Xiang waved her hand, and the car instantly disappeared from the spot, stored in her game inventory.
Apart from Yuka, the other three each carried a backpack containing some necessary supplies.
They did this in case they got separated from Yuka and were left without any supplies.
The four slowly walked onto the bridge, which was filled with a strange smell of putridity and blood, making people frown.
As Chen Yunfei walked, he glanced listlessly at the river under the bridge, muttering to himself, "I wonder if there are still any fish in the river now. I suddenly feel like eating some fish."
Yu Xiang was holding onto the railing, cautiously peering over her shoulder at the river.
Suddenly, her eyes lit up as if she had discovered something, and she quickly tugged at Qiao Yan's sleeve, "Yan Yan, Yan Yan, look, there are fish in the water!"
"There really is a fish?" Upon hearing this, Chen Yunfei immediately perked up and quickly moved closer, his eyes fixed on the surface of the river. "It's just a dark shadow, I can't see it clearly at all, and I don't even know if it's a fish."
Qin Zhuo also frowned and looked at the river.
He noticed more and more dark figures swimming around in the river. His eyes widened instantly, his expression turning wary, and he shouted, "Something's not right! Let's get out of here!"
Qiao Yan also noticed something was wrong. She reacted quickly, grabbing Youxiang's hand and saying urgently, "Little Youzi, let's go!"
Although Chen Yunfei was still completely confused and didn't understand what had happened, seeing that everyone had sped up, he didn't have time to think about it and immediately quickened his pace as well.
He was still muttering to himself, "What's going on? Why are they running so fast..."
Suddenly, the once calm water surface surged violently, creating huge splashes.
Immediately afterwards, one after another dark figures leaped out of the water with a "whoosh".
Hearing the loud noise behind him, Chen Yunfei subconsciously glanced back.
That one glance nearly scared him out of his wits. His eyes widened, and he exclaimed, "My God! There are zombies in the water too! They're all swollen up like balloons from being soaked in water, and they look so ugly they could scare you to death!"
Upon hearing Chen Yunfei's shout, Youxiang's curiosity was piqued, and she turned around to look.
Upon seeing it, she said with a hint of disgust, "It's really ugly!"
As Chen Yunfei sprinted away, he shouted to Youxiang, "Little Youzi, quickly tell your kind to stop chasing us!"
Upon hearing this, Yuxiang barked twice at the person behind her, as if to say: Stop chasing us!
But in response, she was met with the rude roar of a zombie.
Who are you? Why should we listen to you?
Yu Xiang's face fell, and she said to Chen Yunfei, "Let's run, communication failed."
So, a group of zombies chased after them, baring their teeth and claws. The four of them ran wildly on the bridge, stopping from time to time to use their superpowers to attack the zombies behind them, trying to slow their progress.
But the number of zombies behind him kept increasing, densely packed, as if the zombies from the bottom of the water had all crawled out.
As Chen Yunfei ran, he cried out in despair, "It's over! We've stumbled upon a zombie abyss! Are we going to die here today? I don't want to die! I haven't even won Qiao Yan's heart yet!"
Qiao Yan frowned, turned around and glared at Chen Yunfei, then shouted, "Shut up and run! Don't talk such discouraging things here."
Just as they were about to run off the bridge, Qin Zhuo suddenly turned around and shouted at Youxiang, "Little Youzi, take out the bomb I put in your space before!"
Yu Xiang was taken aback at first, then exclaimed "Ah!" and quickly replied, "Oh."
Upon hearing this, Chen Yunfei anxiously shouted, "Brother Qin, those bombs aren't working, are they? They can only kill a small group of zombies behind us. There are so many zombies behind us, it's not enough at all."
A slightly flustered Yu Xiang frantically searched through the game's inventory and accidentally pulled out a fresh ear of corn.
The corn looked fresh and juicy, with a sweet aroma; it looked delicious.
The other three were stunned for a moment when they saw the corn that Yuxiang had taken out.
Chen Yunfei was both amused and exasperated. "Little Yuzu, now is not the time to eat corn. A group of zombies are chasing us. Are you trying to tempt them to death with corn? But zombies don't eat this stuff."
Yuka stuck out her tongue sheepishly, "I accidentally took the wrong one."
As she spoke, she quickly put the corn away, took out the bomb again, and handed it to Qin Zhuo.
Qin Zhuo took the bomb and said seriously, "You guys hurry up and run across. I'll cover you. I'll blow up the bridge in a bit. Xiao Youzi, get the car out. We'll get in and drive away."
The three answered in unison, "Yes."
He then quickened his pace and ran ahead of Qin Zhuo.
