Ye Lei drove his Mercedes SUV and quickly arrived at the Daming Lake Villa. The gate of this villa was magnificent and imposing.
It stands tall, as if displaying the owner's nobility and status to the world.
The gate is made of the finest wood, meticulously carved to reveal delicate textures and a luxurious sheen.
Above the gate is a huge plaque with the words "Daming Lake Villa" engraved in bold, flowing calligraphy, showcasing the residents' prestige.
The sturdy stone pillars on both sides support the entire porch, giving a sense of stability and solidity.
At this moment, the gate was wide open, the guard post was empty and deserted, and its interior was cluttered with miscellaneous items.
The barrier railing was also broken and hung limply to one side.
This villa, once a symbol of wealth and glory, is now completely deserted when you look through the gate, except for a few zombies wandering around like ghosts.
Without pausing for a moment, Ye Lei rushed over the railing and sped away.
The roar of the car engine startled the wandering zombies.
They caught the scent of humans and swarmed toward the Mercedes SUV.
However, the bloodthirsty bats circling in the air gave the zombies no chance to get close, swooping down from a distance.
The claws grabbed these mindless zombies, lifted them into the air, and then dropped them back down.
The zombies that landed immediately turned into a puddle of soft mud, splashing yellow liquid everywhere.
Ye Lei ordered Xiong Da and Xiong Er to get out of the car and handed them the dagger and Swiss Army knife that the female knight had once used.
Such a golden opportunity to collect crystal nuclei should not be missed.
He followed the signs and drove to the entrance of Building 17. The black iron fence in front of the door was tightly closed, and from the outside, the windows were closed and the curtains were drawn.
All indications suggest that survivors live inside.
"Who are you?"
Ye Lei, having parked his car, stood in front of the iron gate. A window on the second floor of the villa was open, and a woman was standing there.
"I'm here to rescue you."
Upon hearing this, Ye Lei looked out the window.
"You? Shouldn't you be a police officer?"
This woman didn't seem to trust Ye Lei.
"They can't come."
"Why? What happened?"
The woman, of course, had no idea that the entire police force had been wiped out.
"They have all been killed by it."
Ye Lei pointed to the bloodthirsty bats circling overhead.
"Ah! What's that?"
The woman was horrified when she saw the bloodthirsty bat.
"Just a flying zombie."
"Were those police officers killed by your control?"
The woman noticed that the bloodthirsty bats didn't attack him, so she figured they must have been brought by Ye Lei.
“The police officers were killed by it before I could control it.”
"Why should I believe you? You murderous maniac."
It's obvious that a misunderstanding has occurred, and the woman is unlikely to let Ye Lei in.
"I see your place is very safe, why are you calling for help?"
"That's none of your business."
"Then come down and open the door, let's go inside and talk."
"Don't even think about it. Do you want me to be killed by it like those policemen?"
"You've really misunderstood. How could I possibly kill those police officers?"
Ye Lei suddenly felt wronged, since he was the one who saved those police officers.
"How should I know? Do you, a serial killer, need a reason?"
The woman had completely lost trust in Ye Lei.
"Can't we talk this over? I really came here to save you."
"Get out of here, or I'll get rough with you."
The woman picked up a crossbow, drew the bowstring taut, and aimed it at Ye Lei with a scope attached.
Who is this person? They even possess such a powerful weapon. Ye Lei, who had originally planned to leave, wanted to find out more.
"Who are you? And why do you have a weapon?"
Ye Lei asked.
"Is it any of your business? I'll count to three, and if you don't leave, don't blame me for being impolite."
"Heh... Do you really intend to kill me? If you did, wouldn't you be a serial killer too?"
Ye Lei had no intention of letting the matter rest.
"You... I was acting in self-defense."
"Self-defense? Did I cause you any harm?"
“Your presence at the door poses a threat to me.”
"Now it's you holding the crossbow and posing a threat to me, isn't it?"
The two even got into an argument, and Ye Lei wanted to use this opportunity to communicate with her more and dispel her hostility.
What exactly do you want?
The woman seemed to have lost her patience.
"I've already told you, I'm here to save you."
"How can you prove it?"
"With so many villas, why did I choose to come to villa number 17 instead of somewhere else?"
"Perhaps it's just a coincidence."
"How would I know you needed rescue?"
"It's the end of the world, everyone needs help."
"I've been standing here for so long, have you heard anyone calling for help?"
"With those flying overhead and those two big guys behind you, who would dare call for help?"
No matter what Ye Lei said, the woman could answer fluently; she seemed truly difficult to deal with.
"Then you can tell me what kind of rescue you need? Maybe I can help you."
Ye Lei was completely out of options. He couldn't just force his way in; that crossbow had a scope and wasn't something to be trifled with, so there was no need to take the risk.
"Are you really sure you can do it?"
The woman also wanted to try it out; this person could control zombies, which might give her a different feeling.
Why don't you tell me?
