Chapter 227 Accurately Shooting Down Three Drones

As night fell, Beanna sat listlessly in the monitoring room, watching the motionless surveillance footage on the screen.

Staring at these monotonous images for long periods of time made her feel very sleepy, but that was her job, requiring her to stay alert and observe every corner.

Just then, a faint light appeared on the monitor screen, attracting Beanna's attention. It was a drone that quickly passed through the darkness, breaking the previously still image.

This unexpected discovery immediately dispelled Beanna's drowsiness. She stared wide-eyed at the drone, wondering where it came from and why it was here. A series of questions flooded her mind.

Bena nervously operated the control panel, trying to zoom in to get a clearer view of the drone.

However, due to the distance, the image became increasingly blurry, making it impossible to discern any markings or features on the drone.

"Brother Lei, Brother Lei, we've spotted a drone circling outside the shelter."

Beanna used the walkie-talkie to ask Ye Lei for help.

"A drone? Is it from the military?"

This news struck Ye Lei astonishing, as he had the impression that only the military used drones.

"It's too far away; I can't see the markings on the aircraft."

"Okay, keep a close eye on things, I'll be right there!"

This place is remote, and in theory no one should come here. If a drone suddenly appears, it's definitely not a good thing.

As Ye Lei walked towards the monitoring room, he wondered who had sent the drone. If it was just someone passing by, that would be fine, but if it was intentional, then it would be troublesome.

By the time Ye Lei entered the monitoring room, the drone footage was already very clear.

"What's going on? How did a drone suddenly appear?"

Looking at the drone on the screen, Ye Lei asked with a serious expression.

"I don't know!"

Beanna said nervously, "It's about to fly in, should we shoot it down?"

"Don't rush into action, let's observe first."

Ye Lei stared intently at the screen, lost in thought.

As the drone drew closer, it became clear that there were no military markings on its fuselage, indicating that it was not a military aircraft.

"It seems someone wants to use drones to investigate the true nature of the shelter!"

Ye Lei sneered inwardly and said, "Anna, grab your sniper rifle, go up to the balcony, and listen to my orders. Be ready to shoot down this drone at any time."

Ye Lei pointed to the drone on the screen and said.

"Yes, Brother Lei."

Beanna nodded, turned and left the monitoring room to prepare.

Ye Lei remained in the monitoring room to see what the drone's purpose was.

Soon, Ye Lei discovered that the drone did not have an attack system, and the flashing red light indicated that the drone was filming the shelter.

It seems that whoever controls it wants to figure out what's going on inside the shelter before launching an attack. What's the difference between that and actually entering the shelter? Ye Lei absolutely will not allow it.

"Anna, are you ready?"

Ye Lei shouted through the drone.

"Brother Lei, I've already aimed. Shall we shoot it down now?"

Beanna had already set up her sniper rifle and aimed it at the drone.

"Yes, target its camera system and shoot it down."

"Yes, received."

Bena subtly adjusted the sniper rifle's aim and decisively pulled the trigger. "Bang..." The sniper rifle bullet shot out with a burst of flame, accurately hitting the drone's camera system. The drone, which had already flown above the shelter's walls, fell to the ground.

With a muffled thud, the drone crashed into the shelter's wall, making a series of crackling sounds before emitting a plume of black smoke, rendering it completely destroyed.

Bena looked at the drone she had shot down and was overjoyed. She exclaimed excitedly, "Brother Lei, I hit it!"

Upon hearing this news, Ye Lei breathed a sigh of relief and praised, "Well done, Anna!"

However, at that moment, two more drones appeared in the surveillance footage, it seems these people are still not giving up!

"Anna, we've spotted two more drones, to the left and right of the shelter. Can you see them?"

"Brother Lei, I think I'm not seeing it very accurately, it's a bit blurry!"

Beanna answered truthfully.

"Then try aiming at it and see if you have a chance to shoot it down!"

In this situation, only Beanna's sniper rifle would be of any use; Ye Lei couldn't offer any real help.

"receive!"

Bena carefully adjusted the scope of her sniper rifle, but no matter how hard she tried, the image in her field of vision remained blurry.

She knew perfectly well where the problem lay; her current position was not ideal, preventing her from fully utilizing the weapon's capabilities.

"Brother Lei, I still can't aim, what should I do?"

A hint of anxiety was in Beanna's voice.

"Don't rush, just keep firing! It's just a drone anyway, even if we miss, it's just a waste of a few bullets."

Ye Lei's tone was quite casual.

Beanna nodded, took a deep breath, and readjusted the aiming system.

Although she still couldn't guarantee a perfect score this time, she was determined to give it a try, since, logically speaking, such a low success rate was simply too low.

Just then, she pulled the trigger. With a gunshot, a bullet flew out. To her surprise, the bullet hit the target accurately—the drone crashed instantly.

Beanna stared wide-eyed at what was happening before her, incredulous, and even began to doubt whether she had really done it.

She knew her skills were limited, and hitting the target this time was nothing short of a miracle. Could it be that her shooting skills had improved so much without her even realizing it?

Beanna fell into deep thought, trying to figure out the reason.

Perhaps it was because she had been in a state of tension that she was able to concentrate better when she actually fired the gun, thus improving her accuracy.

Or perhaps it was just a coincidence, and she just happened to make the right judgment at the right time and place.

"Anna, well done! You said you couldn't see clearly, but you hit the target on the first shot. Fantastic!"

Ye Lei saw the crashed drone through the surveillance footage; it was emitting black smoke.

"Brother Lei, I don't know either! I also find it a bit unbelievable!"

Even Beanna herself was bewildered.

"Alright, don't worry about that. There's another one on the other side. Give it a try."

"Okay, received."

Having succeeded last time, Bena's confidence soared. Although the image she saw through the aiming system was still blurry, she still managed to hit the target with a single shot.

"Great job, Anna, mission accomplished, call it a day!"

Ye Lei was also impressed by Beanna's skills, but he had a vague feeling that this was probably not all a coincidence.
