Chapter 1 Rebirth

Chapter 1 Rebirth

After the heavy rain, the city of B was filled with a chill in the wind, and it was bleak and silent, like a large Shura field where people could be slaughtered at will.

As night falls, the usual bustle and clamor of the streets fades, leaving only the scattered street lamps with their blazing light, standing upright and stubbornly like writers and poets.

The moon and stars that people are familiar with have disappeared for three whole days.

There were no signs.

Experts from around the world are discussing this. Some say the orbits of the Earth and Moon have shifted and will continue to do so. Others say the Moon has entered a dormant period, and the Blue Planet may face months or even years of prolonged darkness. Still others say an outer planet is about to collide with the Moon, signaling the end of the world.

In short, under all kinds of logical or illogical speculation, everyone on Blue Star was in danger for a while.

Pessimists firmly believe that the end of the world will come soon, and they enjoy a luxurious life in the remaining time.

Alternatively, it promotes economic consumption in daytime society.

The business of entertainment venues, fine dining, tourism and health care is unprecedentedly good and has soared to new heights.

Supermarkets and convenience stores often run out of stock, and many people's homes are filled with food and daily necessities.

The more they cram in, the more secure they feel.

A two-story Lin's noodle restaurant is located on the luxurious commercial street of City B. It has a simple front desk downstairs, a transparent small kitchen, and tables and chairs all stacked together.

The empty space was filled with boxes of mineral water, rice, flour, cooking oil, condiments, allergy medicines, cold medicines, bandage alcohol, and so on.

At the corner of the stairs, five large silent generators stand.

Upstairs is a bedroom, a bathroom and a balcony. The usually cozy little living room is now so crowded that there is only an aisle wide enough for one person to walk through.

Several boxes of sanitary napkins, paper towels, and wet wipes were stacked high. The left side of the double bed was filled with clothes for all seasons, and there were two unopened boxes of underwear and socks.

Countless dried sweet potatoes were drying on the balcony railings, while the rest of the area was blocked by rows of pickled fish, duck, and beef, leaving only tiny gaps for the narrow sunlight to filter in. On the ground lay jars of freshly made, fermenting pickled radishes.

The fire in the kitchen was roaring, and the noodle shop owner Lin Luyan was sweating profusely, her hands covered with a lot of white sticky flour, and she moved without stopping.

Roll out the dough, wrap the filling, and then put it into the steamer.

The refrigerator was already packed full, and the freezer I bought online through the same-city express delivery service this morning has been plugged in and is in operation.

A lot of sweat soaked the collar. Lin Luyan lifted her sleeves and wiped her flushed face without slowing down her hands.

She had been running around all day, trying her best to buy the scarce daily necessities in the supermarket. Fortunately, she had a noodle shop license, which allowed her to buy a lot of ingredients and seasonings at the wholesale farmers' market.

In order to prevent excessive stockpiling by the public and waste of drug resources, pharmacies and hospitals have started using big data monitoring. The reserve drugs purchased by people without illness are limited, while those with underlying diseases or serious diseases are generally not subject to too many restrictions depending on the situation.

Lin Luyan has been severely allergic to preservatives since she was a child. She bought three large boxes of treatment medications and specifically mentioned this to the pharmacy clerk. She said that when she was allergic, she would have a fever and a cold, and she successfully got a large number of medications to treat such symptoms.

But even so, she was still panicked and extremely insecure.

Time is running out, and she has to quickly prepare meat and vegetable buns, dumplings, and pancakes that will last for more than half a year.

The damn allergic constitution to preservatives greatly increased the difficulty for her to stock up in the apocalypse, making it a complete hell mode.

Yes, the end is coming.

Lin Luyan was reborn, just this morning.

The moment the alarm clock woke her up, the hunger that had been roaming around her body inexplicably disappeared.

Was he dreaming? Or had he reached the long-imagined paradise?

What I see in front of me is exactly the same as the layout of the home I imagined.

He pinched his cheek hard.

pain.

Then he pinched his thigh hard.

It's a sharp pain.

Lin Luyan, with disheveled hair, leaned halfway under the bed and unlocked the phone screen on the floor.

The date displayed on it shocked Lin Luyan. She didn't care about her bare feet because she was not wearing socks. She stood up and went to the balcony. Only then did she really confirm that the world she was standing on was real.

Fortunately, she was reborn on the fourth day before the end of the world.

After a whole day of shopping, organizing, and cooking, I was so tired.

Even though she was so tired, she did not stop stockpiling.

Now that I'm reborn, I can no longer experience the pain of the past.

The end of the world begins, zombies appear, social order gradually becomes chaotic, and water and electricity are cut off.

After she had eaten up all the food in the store, she had no choice but to take a kitchen knife and go out to look for food.

Fresh meat and vegetables were either sold out or spoiled and rotten, making them completely inedible.

In desperation, Lin Luyan found a remote convenience store and hurriedly took out a few packs of snacks with a short shelf life.

There's no other way, you have to fill your stomach. Foods with a short shelf life should have fewer preservatives.

Despite being extremely careful, she unfortunately still got infected. Her body had an extremely severe allergic reaction, which almost cost her her life.

No, I can’t eat.

You have to eat it.

In the end, Lin Luyan starved to death in the apocalypse.

If there was a mirror, she would definitely be frightened by her own skinny and hideous appearance at the last moment.

Due to her critical condition, she only eats food cooked at home.

Lin Luyan herself knew that even if someone like her was reborn and had the opportunity to prepare in advance, it would still be difficult for her to survive in the apocalypse where supplies were scarce and food could not be guaranteed to be fresh and healthy.

Humans are not only facing the threat of zombies, but also the damage to water and soil quality.

Unless they are wood-type mutants, humans cannot grow vegetables or rice.

…………

In the evening, the gray-red afterglow covered the earth, as if a ghost was invading, terrifying and eerie.

Countless tiny snowflakes mixed with yellow sand and gravel fell down, bounced up after touching the ground, crackling and spraying in all directions, playing the music of the region.

On TV, the invited meteorological, astronomical and ecological experts were dressed in formal attire, sitting upright, with calm and composed expressions.

They use their professional knowledge to educate the public in real time about the phenomena the world is currently facing, and advise the public not to panic, as the current situation is far from reaching the level of the end of the world.

In the final concluding remarks, the host reported various data that could reassure the public, calling on everyone to relax, live a normal life, and not over-stock.

Lin Luyan was busy filling out the material reserve list, occasionally looking up at the screen with mixed feelings.

She is an ordinary person. If she stubbornly tries to save the world at this time, she will probably be treated as a lunatic who spreads doomsday pessimism.
