The Warwing currently has 12 members. Apart from Gavin's healing abilities, only Carl, Falcon, and Snow Owl are capable of combat.
Facing zombie beasts, which are already stronger than ordinary zombies, is no small challenge.
Li Xin'er, who was determined to train her battle wings, didn't immediately send out the mutated beasts from her spatial dimension to help.
Instead, he took Wenwen inside the armory and used his soul power to monitor the situation outside.
The wild boar, as strong as an ox, has hair standing on end like steel needles, and a pair of long tusks that can easily pierce through a person.
When the golden eagles saw Carl and his men come out, they only dared to fire after Carl gave them a gesture indicating that he had completed his task.
The wild boar's eyes were completely white with no pupils; relying solely on its brute strength after its transformation, it charged blindly towards the direction of the scent.
With its thick hide, a single volley of bullets can send a wild boar thrashing about in place for several seconds.
They ran to create distance while turning back to fire and clear the area.
"Boss! How about we use a bomb?"
Seeing that he had missed again, the cassow shouted anxiously to Carl.
Carl plunged his knife into the head of the nearest wild boar, and the instant he pulled it out, he channeled his fire-based powers into the hole.
"A swift and decisive victory."
Making too much noise here will attract more attention from zombie beasts or living people if it goes on for too long, which is not good.
Upon hearing Carl's command, they instantly became more unrestrained, throwing bombs into the horde of zombies with abandon.
'Bang!'
'Boom!'
A series of explosions followed, and blood and flesh flew everywhere, leaving behind the limbs and remains of zombie beasts.
The smell was indescribable; the entire mountain was filled with a putrid stench.
The warriors, led by Zhan Yi, ran all over the mountains with their zombie beasts.
The zombie beasts were numb and didn't feel tired, but the warriors were living, breathing people, and soon they were all exhausted and out of breath.
A zombie tiger pounced on the lagging hornbill.
With that one bite, the hornbill's entire upper body would be torn apart.
"Hornbill!"
Blood Pheasant turned around and saw this scene, and fired a burst of bullets at the Zombie Tiger.
The hornbill had time to react, rolling on the ground to its side to avoid being hit by the injured zombie tiger.
"I'm fine, I'll run!"
The zombie tiger was injured, but it did not affect its movement at all.
The hornbill quickly got up from the ground, pulled out a grenade, and threw it into the mouth of the zombie tiger that was about to open its jaws again.
In the blink of an eye, using all his strength, he moved away from the zombie tiger.
A huge wave and an explosion overturned the hornbill, throwing it several meters forward.
Gavin, who had been keeping a close eye on everyone's condition, immediately went forward to check on them, while the golden eagle and snowy owl beside him took charge of protecting them.
"Luckily you ran fast, you only suffered minor injuries."
Gavin breathed a sigh of relief after examining the bird and began to heal it with his powers. He placed his hand over the bird's body, and a soft white light emanated from his palm.
The hornbill felt like its head was spinning, and its ears were ringing non-stop; it couldn't hear a thing Gavin was saying.
The white light shining on me made me feel warm and comfortable all over, and I felt sleepy.
The battle on the side was still intense. Carl was originally using fire-based abilities, but due to the terrain and the fact that many trees were already necrotic inside, leaving only a dry, empty shell, the fire could easily burn a large area if not handled carefully.
Then he simply used his strength-based superpower to uproot a tree that would take two people to hug with his bare hands and smash it towards the zombie horde.
The effect was quite remarkable, smashing large areas with each shot. Before the mutated beasts could get up, the others tacitly fired shots into their heads to finish them off.
Although many of the warriors were injured and looked quite disheveled in the end, the battle went much more smoothly than expected.
Li Xin'er complained that the smell outside was too strong and told them to go inside the armory to get bandaged and cleaned before leaving.
Carl and the pigeons were unharmed and were simply keeping watch outside the armory.
In the corridor, the members of the Warwing sat side by side on the ground, their backs against the wall, waiting for Gavin to treat them one by one.
The hornbills that were slightly more seriously injured were treated because of the overuse of their powers. The minor injuries were cleaned and bandaged directly without using any powers.
"Sister Xin, when are we going to awaken our superpowers? This fighting is so frustrating, it's so much more fun when the boss does it, smashing trees like that!"
Having just finished the battle, Vulture was still in a state of excitement. When talking about Carl's battle, he gestured and spoke with great enthusiasm.
Only Vulture dared to ask Li Xin'er so directly, despite his own anxiety. Others, though also anxious, didn't have the guts to press her directly.
Hearing Vulture ask such a question directly, everyone looked at Li Xin'er expectantly.
Li Xin'er said in the car yesterday that she would awaken her superpowers last night, but it was inconvenient to go to the Leng family last night, so the matter was put on hold.
Li Xin'er glanced at the time; it was already past one o'clock.
"It's lunchtime, so let's rest here for a while and let you awaken your superpowers."
As soon as she finished speaking, cheers erupted from the crowd in the corridor.
"Wow! Long live Sister Xin!"
"Very good!"
Even Carl and his companion outside the door heard it. After exchanging a glance, they both smiled slightly.
Carl gestured with his chin, indicating that the pigeons should go inside.
"Go and switch places with one of them."
Pigeons don't have any special abilities, so they definitely can't miss this rare opportunity.
The pigeon nodded excitedly.
"good."
He was about to turn and go inside when he suddenly stopped. Pigeon turned back to look at Carl, pursed her lips, and said heavily:
"Boss, if I don't survive and go back to Y country, could you help me find my brother?"
