Chapter 157 What about the boss?

Lu Chen still summoned Chef Sun.

Master Sun is over sixty years old, with gray hair, but his eyes are clear, his back is straight, and he looks very energetic.

Lu Chen took the initiative to introduce Li Xin'er to Master Sun, and Li Xin'er went straight to the point and asked:

"Hello Chef Sun, I really like your cooking, it suits my taste perfectly. It's not easy to find a suitable chef these days. I wonder if you'd be interested in changing employers? Of course, you can name your terms."

Master Sun was a worldly man and wasn't flattered by Li Xin'er's words; his kind smile remained unchanged.

"Being recognized by diners is the happiest thing for me as a chef."

He then paused briefly, as if considering how to bring it up tactfully.

Lu Chen, who was standing nearby, kindly reminded him:

“Master Sun, you don’t need to worry about anything else. I have no objections and fully respect your wishes. Miss Xin is also willing to meet any of your requests, and I can guarantee that as well.”

For Lu Chen, exchanging a chef for a relationship with Li Xin'er was a worthwhile deal, provided that what Li Xin'er said before was true.

Master Sun had actually intended to refuse from the beginning.

Regardless of the Lu family's status in China, just considering the nearly ten years he's been with the Lu family, as long as he's still by Lu Chen's side, Lu Chen will definitely not abandon him.

He's an elderly man living alone; in this world, where else can he go?

Before Master Sun could finish speaking, Lu Chen's words forced him to agree.

Lu Chen's reminder was quite obvious; he hoped he would agree.

Master Sun lowered his eyes, concealing the desolation within. After decades, it would be a lie to say he wasn't heartbroken. Perhaps he really was getting old and useless.

He knew he couldn't refuse. Not only would refusing offend Lu Chen's guests, but even if Lu Chen didn't say anything on the surface, he would still harbor resentment.

It's better to just go along with them and be happy. If he's lucky, this girl is a good customer, and maybe he can live out the rest of his life in peace.

Master Sun forced a smile and said to Li Xin'er:

"I have never married and have lived alone my whole life. I entered the kitchen with my master when I was 14 years old and have never 'stepped out' of the kitchen in my entire life."

Besides this skill, I have nothing else to offer that's truly impressive.

"Everyone's having a tough time right now, and I don't have any other demands. While I'm still alive, just being able to make ends meet will be a challenge."

Li Xin'er understood what he meant: he was all alone, and all he knew was cooking, so she had to be responsible for his safety and lodging.

This really wasn't a big deal for her.

"No problem, come with me, you don't need to worry about any of this, you just need to cook every day."

Master Sun nodded. Actually, once Lu Chen decided to put him forward, the matter was essentially settled. Being allowed to negotiate terms was already a gesture of respect, so he didn't say anything more and readily agreed.

"Okay, I'm all set."

Li Xin'er looked at Lu Chen, and Lu Chen understood.

"Miss Xin, rest assured, I have said that I support his decision, and I will not stop you anymore. You can take him away today."

Li Xin'er smiled, picked up her wine glass, and raised it.

"Then thank you, Mr. Lu, for making the difficult decision."

Lu Chen raised his glass in response, "I hope Miss Xin will take good care of Master Sun in the future."

Li Xin'er said meaningfully, "Of course, I never mistreat my own people."

After finishing his drink, Lu Chen said somewhat reluctantly to Master Sun sitting next to him:

"Don't worry, Master Sun. With my guarantee, Miss Xin is definitely a good person. You won't regret following her."

At this point, Master Sun couldn't tell if what he said was just for show or genuine. He nodded and thanked him, a faint smile playing on his lips.

"Thank you, Mr. Lu."

Since it was already quite late, Li Xin'er didn't actually let Master Sun go with her right now.

He was simply told to pack his things and that someone would come to pick him up tomorrow.

Li Xin'er returned to the RV. Carl and the others had already finished dinner and were chatting in the RV. Xia Jie, along with Ranran and Wenwen, were in another vehicle.

She glanced at it from the doorway and then gave the order:

“Carl, arrange for someone to go to Lu Chen’s place tomorrow morning to pick up my new chef.”

Carl was surprised for a moment when he heard that there was a new chef, but then a hint of panic appeared in his eyes.

Was it because his cooking was bad that she had to find a new chef?

Gavin, standing next to him, immediately responded with surprise.

"A new chef?! Sister Xin, you've hired a chef?"

This person's name is Sister Xin, and it's getting easier and easier to pronounce.

Li Xin'er leaned against the car door, arms crossed, and nodded casually.

"Yeah, I just poached it from Lu Chen."

The vulture asked with some concern, "What about the boss?"

Only a vulture who doesn't think things through would ask such a question.

Although everyone else was eager to know, they wouldn't ask directly, for fear of upsetting Sister Xin.

Clearly, they were overthinking it; Li Xin'er hadn't even considered that possibility.

She rolled her eyes at the vulture.

"What? You want your eldest child to spend all his time in the kitchen?"

After hearing this, everyone realized what was going on...

It's not that we don't want their leader~

Carl's eyes lit up at this moment, and he was clearly much happier than before.

Li Xin'er, puzzled, glanced at the group of people sitting or standing on the bus.

"Remember to pick them up tomorrow morning."

Carl nodded slightly, his deep green eyes meeting Li Xin'er's. It was a simple sentence, yet it carried a deep affection.
