"Xinxin! Xinxin!"
It was a little after 4 a.m. on the 25th.
He didn't believe in the doomsday theory, and due to the time difference, he went to bed early last night and was woken up at midnight.
As I stood up, I saw outside that the blood-red meteorite had turned into gray mist, and a bad premonition welled up in my heart.
Worried that Li Xin'er was alone, he wanted to come and find her, but before he even reached the door, he collapsed to the ground and lost consciousness.
He didn't know when he became conscious, but he felt as if he had fallen into a sea of fire and was being burned. His whole body ached terribly, and he was woken up by the heat and the pain.
After a long while, feeling dazed and confused, the pain gradually subsided once I was fully awake.
He didn't have time to think about why; his first reaction was to come find Li Xin'er.
"Xinxin! How are you?!"
At this moment, a strange "hoarse" sound came from the room next to Li Xin'er's, along with the sound of fingernails scratching at the door, which sounded particularly jarring in the empty corridor.
Li Yiyuan was tense all over, his eyes fixed on the door, forgetting to continue knocking.
'Crunch.'
Li Xin'er opened the door a crack, only her head peeking out.
Li Yiyuan instantly shifted his attention, turned to look at the person in front of him, breathed a sigh of relief, and asked nervously:
"Xinxin, are you alright?"
Li Xin'er blocked the door, not letting him in immediately. Instead, she stared at him with a stern face, looking him up and down before asking seriously,
Can you cook?
Li Yiyuan clearly hadn't expected the question to jump so abruptly, and was momentarily stunned, looking somewhat bewildered.
"ah?"
Is Xinxin hungry?
Li Xin'er patiently asked again.
"Can you cook?"
Li Yiyuan nodded subconsciously.
"Yes, Xinxin, you..."
You know that already.
Before he could finish speaking, Li Yiyuan was pulled into the house by Li Xin'er, who then quickly closed the door.
Li Yiyuan finally realized what was happening, and felt like crying.
"Seriously? If I couldn't cook, you wouldn't even let me in the door, would you? Xiao Xinzi, you've changed!"
Li Xin'er raised her eyebrows provocatively.
"Otherwise, do you want me to be a burden?"
She's perfectly happy on her own, why would she need to bring someone along?
Li Xin'er was serious, but Li Yiyuan thought she was joking and smiled indifferently.
"Okay, okay, whatever you say is right."
As he spoke, Li Yiyuan became serious, his tone tinged with nervousness.
Did you see what was happening outside last night?
Li Xin'er nodded, while also sizing up Li Yiyuan.
“I wasn’t asleep yet at that time,”
Barefoot, her blue cotton pajama set and flaxen hair were soaked with sweat, and strands of hair on her forehead were sticking to her face. If it weren't for her good looks... she would have looked so disheveled that it would have been unbearable to look at.
Li Xin'er turned around, took out disposable hotel slippers from the cabinet, and handed them to him.
"Put them on first."
Li Yiyuan looked down at his feet before realizing that he had rushed over without even putting on his shoes.
He took the slippers, sat down on the sofa, and laughed heartily:
"I was in such a hurry that I forgot."
