The moment Carl became alert, everyone around him disappeared, and he cautiously looked around.
The next moment, Xin'er's voice suddenly rang out, "Are you looking for them?"
He turned around abruptly and saw Xin'er leaning against a tree trunk, staring at him lazily.
With just one glance, he raised his hand and threw a fireball at 'Xin'er'.
Xin'er teleported away from her original spot to avoid the fireball, which crashed to the ground, igniting the remaining branches and leaves.
"They've got some nerve, daring to attack me."
Xin'er then stood closer to him, her face showing a hint of anger.
Carl remained cold and ignored her. This time, he drew the curved sword from his waistband, held it to his arm, and attacked 'Xin'er'.
He could tell at a glance that the person in front of him was not her.
Their gazes were different; when she looked at someone, her eyes remained calm and unwavering, like a high and mighty god looking down on all ants.
At this point, Carl already had a guess about Gavin's premonition.
Illusion?
As he suspected, everyone on the Warwing except Gavin was in the same situation as Carl, trapped in different illusions.
Everyone stood there blankly, except for Gavin, who was looking around. It was hard for Xin'er not to notice him.
She stared at Gavin, lost in thought, her expression puzzled.
A level 4 healing-type ability, why isn't it affected? Even the Falcon's mental ability was completely overwhelmed... wait a minute...
Wait a minute! He has another special ability!
Xin'er's gaze was too obvious and direct. Gavin looked up and asked nervously, "Sister Xin, what's wrong with them?"
Xin'er raised her delicate eyebrows slightly, "I've just been trapped in an illusion."
Gavin's second ability fluctuations were extremely faint, making them difficult to detect. This faintness was not due to his low level, but rather a form of self-protection and concealment.
She hadn't heard Gavin mention it, so why was he hiding it? Xin'er became even more curious about what kind of superpower it was, because she had never seen similar energy fluctuations in anyone else.
"Why don't you go in and have some fun too?" Xin'er's question was just a notification; before she finished speaking, Gavin had already been sent into the zombie illusion array.
These illusions are usually created from people's deepest fears or desires.
She had a slightly wicked sense of humor, feeling that she couldn't show favoritism; she had seen everyone else's, and Gavin shouldn't be left out either.
Also, I'd like to see if Gavin will use his second superpower.
Gavin felt a blur before his eyes, and his body tensed. What was this? An illusion?
But why was nothing around him the same? Before he could think about it, Carl next to him moved.
He unleashed his supernatural power and attacked Xin'er, shouting fiercely:
"Gray Magpie! Retreat!"
Gavin's heart skipped a beat. His first thought was, why would the boss want to die?
His attack on Sister Xin was tantamount to courting death.
Almost the instant Carl was ejected, the others around Gavin—pigeons, vultures, falcons, and so on—fell to the ground one after another.
Some of them were bleeding from all seven orifices and remained motionless, while others were curled up in pain, clutching their heads.
Upon seeing them injured, Gavin, as the team doctor, reacted almost instinctively by crouching down to examine and treat them.
He checked several more that were still, but they were all silent.
He murmured in fear, "How could this happen?"
Gavin kept telling himself that this wasn't real, this wasn't real, this was an illusion, but his hand still couldn't stop trembling.
Gavin tried to move the only falcon that was still moving, and the falcon reached out and pushed him with difficulty.
"Go! Gray Magpie, go! This isn't Sister Xin!"
After saying that, the falcon lowered its hand and stopped breathing.
"Saker falcon!"
Gavin gripped the falcon's arm tighter, tears streaming down his face. He hadn't even had a chance to unleash his healing abilities... How could this happen...?
Is it an illusion? But touching these still-warm corpses, he couldn't be sure.
It looks so real, what if it's true?
Isn't that Sister Xin? Is this the illusion? Then Sister Xin is outside; she'll save them, right...?
He looked up at Carl over there, and as Gavin had expected, Carl was being completely overwhelmed by 'Sister Xin'.
Gavin took a scalpel from his arm pouch, stood up, and tried to approach Carl. 'Xin'er' noticed his intention and gave a mocking smile.
"Incompetent and ignorant."
With a wave of her hand, a wind blade struck Gavin. Before he could dodge, Carl stepped forward to block the attack for him.
Carl's chest was instantly slashed open by the wind blade, leaving a long gash. Blood gushed out as he turned and screamed at Gavin.
"Get out of here! Quickly!"
He tried to block Xin'er's attack with his own body, but it was like a mantis trying to stop a chariot.
The next second, Gavin saw 'Xin'er' teleport in front of Carl, reach into Carl's chest, and pull out Carl's heart.
At that moment, Gavin stopped breathing and froze on the spot.
Crimson blood droplets splattered on Xin'er's face, making her look both alluring and eerie.
Her gaze passed over Carl and landed on Gavin, her bloodthirsty eyes filled with mockery.
·
Even Xin'er, outside the illusion, couldn't stand it anymore; what on earth was all this nonsense?
Also, is Gavin's combat ability really that bad?
