At the hotel, everyone gathered in the restaurant on the sixth floor, where every empty space was covered with futons.
Du Shi and the Mediterranean King Devon also woke up at this time, lying in a corner, their faces pale and their breathing weak.
The hotel didn't have the same amenities as Li Xin'er's; they didn't have any rechargeable lighting. Fortunately, they found candles in the hotel's storage room, so they weren't in complete darkness.
More than ten people lit candles and sat together to discuss the distribution of food.
Food is limited, some people have big appetites, and some people eat little, so there will always be people who complain.
Du Shi turned his head and stared wide-eyed. The dominant position that originally belonged to him—being flattered and having the power to make decisions—had now been taken over by Zhong Guoyi.
He was abandoned in a corner like a stray dog, ignored by everyone.
He didn't even have the strength to curse, because his internal organs were in pain, making it difficult to even speak.
His eyes were filled with hatred. He hated these people for standing by and watching someone die.
He knows his own body best; given his current condition, he probably won't last much longer.
These people just let him fend for himself, instead of finding him a doctor, and were still arguing about who should get the packet of instant noodles and the bottle of mineral water...
They're utterly inhuman! Their wealth is inhuman!
Wang Dewen, his previous smugness gone, was now huddled under the covers, trembling with fear. He was afraid of dying... and he didn't want to die...
Suddenly, I heard the sound of cars downstairs. It seemed like there was more than one car, and they were parked downstairs.
"Someone's coming!"
The doorman, Yu Ping, had already gotten up and quickly walked to the window to look down.
"A lot of people have come, and they're carrying guns!"
At Yu Ping's exclamation, everyone tensed up and crowded around, staring downstairs.
After Zhong Guoyi saw clearly what was downstairs, he hurriedly called out to the others.
"Quick, put out the candles!"
Four black SUVs arrived, and the men who got out were all dressed in black suits, tall and burly, and carrying guns.
They don't look like good people! They might be after them.
Everyone frantically blew out the candles, plunging the room into darkness. For a moment, the silence was so profound that even the sound of rapid breathing could be heard.
They held their breath, furtively watching the people coming downstairs from the window, praying that they were just passing by.
"Mr. Fu, this is the hotel where Miss Li last stayed."
Assistant Li respectfully invited Fu Xihan to get out of the car.
I don't know why President Fu isn't going back to S City at this time, but instead is looking for this female celebrity everywhere.
He suspected that President Fu had taken a liking to Li Xin'er; after all, Li Xin'er was indeed very beautiful—he'd never seen anyone so stunning.
She and President Fu are a perfect match, a perfect couple!
He should be very polite when he meets his future boss's wife.
The road was originally crowded with zombies, but after a quiet afternoon, they dispersed. Now, the movement of vehicles has attracted them again, and there are quite a few of them.
Fu Xihan calmly got out of the car, his movements still unhurried, without even a furrowed brow.
Once he stood still in front of the car, the bodyguards who had formed a circle around him opened fire indiscriminately on the surging zombies.
Fu Xihan scanned his surroundings, his gaze settling on the conspicuous black crater in the road ahead. That mark... was it a bomb?
It was just a bomb; in his view, it wasn't uncommon, and he didn't pay much attention to it.
Gunshots echoed through the streets, alarming nearby survivors and attracting even more zombies.
The streets were soon littered with mutilated corpses, many of which had been riddled with bullets. The stench of blood and the putrid smell of decay swept through the air.
Fu Xihan took a handkerchief out of his pocket, covered his mouth and nose, withdrew his attention, and looked up at the hotel building in front of him, a hint of anticipation in his eyes.
"Which floor, which room?"
Assistant Li immediately stepped forward and replied:
"This building right in front of us, 17th floor, 1702."
Immediately afterwards, Assistant Li glanced at the sixth-floor window and reported:
“There were people on the 6th floor. There was a light on just now, but it went out when we arrived.”
Fu Xihan glanced at the sixth floor, then looked away without interest. His target was Li Xin'er; there was no need to waste his time on the others who were unimportant.
"Ignore it, just go find Li Xin'er."
"Okay, Mr. Fu."
Sure enough, Mr. Fu truly loves Miss Li. Look how anxious and worried he is about her!
After the bodyguards cleared away the surrounding zombies, they cleared a path for Fu Xihan and escorted him toward the hotel entrance.
On the sixth floor, Wu Jie, the mother of a family of three, was holding her child, looking worried.
"What should we do? It seems like they're heading straight for our building!"
Yu Ping tried to think of things in a positive light.
"Maybe they just wanted a place to rest and happened to take a liking to our hotel."
The white-haired old man sighed, shook his head, and said with concern.
"It's hard to say. Even if they weren't targeting us, they're not easy to mess with, with so many guns..."
Yes, those are guns! They've never seen a real one in their entire lives.
So many of them appeared at once. Judging from how they cleared out the zombies, they didn't seem to care about the bullets at all, relying entirely on firepower to suppress them.
It is conceivable that they have ample reserves and formidable strength.
Chef Liang Heping reminded him in a deep voice:
"They didn't bring anything else besides guns. What will so many people eat and drink?"
Upon hearing this, everyone panicked even more. If their meager food supplies were stolen, they would have no chance of survival.
Everyone looked at Zhong Guoyi, hoping he could give them some advice.
Although Zhong Guoyi had some knowledge and experience, he was just a small business owner and had never seen anything like it before, so he was at a loss for what to do.
Du Shi, lying in the corner, had a wild and unrestrained look in his eyes, and he was grinning so wide he was almost laughing out loud.
