Even if they found out, they would just applaud and cheer, thinking that this was a good deed and that such a beast should be punished by law.
"Thank you for cooperating with our investigation. It's kind of you to make this trip."
"Officer Chen is too kind. It is a citizen's responsibility, and anyone would have cooperated."
Li Xin'er put on sunglasses and pulled down the hat she had deliberately worn after removing her makeup, looking like a big star who was afraid of being recognized when she went out.
Officer Chen noticed her little actions and politely escorted her to the door.
After Li Xin'er got into the taxi and left, Officer Chen turned around and went back to his office. Holding the transcript he had just written, he knocked on the door of their captain's office.
A deep, husky male voice emanated from inside.
"Enter."
Officer Chen pushed open the door and walked in, placing the statement on the table in front of the man.
"Captain Lu! This is Li Xin'er's statement."
Lu Jin'an sat at his desk, the sleeves of his white shirt rolled up, revealing his healthy tan skin and well-defined muscle lines.
He looked up at Officer Chen and asked:
"The person has been found?"
"It has been confirmed that the person at the bar last night was indeed Li Xin'er. She wore makeup to avoid reporters and prevent being recognized."
"You're wearing makeup?"
This surprised Lu Jin'an somewhat. He had seen the bar's surveillance footage, and judging from appearance alone, the only thing that could connect him to Li Xin'er was that they were the same gender.
Are makeup techniques really that advanced now?
Lu Jin'an flipped through the transcript and listened to Officer Chen's detailed report. He even specially pulled up the surveillance footage from the interrogation room. Only after watching Li Xin'er's entire makeup removal process did he truly believe the fact.
