Chapter 91 gogogo!

Wang Fan ran to the door of Villa No. 18 and saw Zhao Xiaoyu standing there safely, so he breathed a sigh of relief.

He was panting heavily, bent over, and braced his hands on his knees, gasping for breath.

"Phew...that scared me to death, phew...I thought you were doing something drastic..."

Zhao Xiaoyu looked at him in surprise.

Why are you back?

They haven't been gone for very long.

Wang Fan straightened up, walked towards Zhao Xiaoyu, and waved his hand weakly, saying:

"Oh, don't even mention it. We searched the beach several times, but we didn't see a single ghost, let alone a person."

Zhao Xiaoyu tilted her head in confusion.

"What was that noise just now?"

"Who knows? Maybe they've left, or maybe it's not what we think at all."

Otherwise, he couldn't think of any other possibilities. Looking at the villa burning brightly in front of him, Wang Fan asked again, puzzled.

"What are you up to?"

Last night, they were saying they would collect the bodies of her family members tomorrow. How come, in such a short time, even the house has burned down?

Mentioning this, Zhao Xiaoyu's eyes dimmed considerably, her tone carrying a calm acceptance of everything.

"There's no point in keeping it; we might as well burn it."

Wang Fan looked at her, then at the house, scratching his head, unsure of what to say to comfort her.

Suddenly, Zhao Xiaoyu took out a pair of scissors from her pocket and held them up.

Wang Fan reacted instinctively, grabbing her hand and stammering with excitement.

"What...what are you doing? Don't do anything rash! It's better to live a miserable life than to die. Every extra day you live is a bonus. You..."

"Pfft~"

Zhao Xiaoyu was amused by his exaggerated actions.

"Can you stop thinking about nonsense? Don't worry, I haven't lived enough yet. I still have things to do. How could I possibly die like this?"

Wang Fan gave an awkward smile, sheepishly withdrew his hand, and nodded, saying:

"That's good, that's good. I was just worried about you... Hey, it's okay, let's not talk about this anymore."

Zhao Xiaoyu picked up the scissors and, with a 'snip, snip' cut her waist-length hair down to behind her ears.

Wang Fan watched from the side, his face filled with regret and heartache; such long hair...

He remained silent in the end, understanding the situation: water was scarce, and growing long hair was indeed a hassle.

With her hair cut short, Zhao Xiaoyu's face showed a resolute and determined look. The burning flames reflected on her, and at this moment she seemed to be reborn from the ashes, having completed her transformation.

Wang Fan was stunned...

"I'm leaving."

He was lost in thought when Zhao Xiaoyu's voice came, and didn't react for a moment.

"Huh? Leave? You...where are you going?"

Zhao Xiaoyu put the scissors into the backpack that was beside her feet, then picked up the backpack and slung it over her shoulder.

"I need to go downtown to find my grandparents."

Wang Fan was shocked again, and his voice involuntarily rose a little.

"Going to the city now? Are you crazy?"

Zhao Xiaoyu, oblivious to her surroundings, wrapped wide duct tape around her legs and arms.

Wang Fan was still anxiously trying to persuade him.

"There are too many people living in the city, and the mutated zombies are everywhere. If you go now, it's no different from walking into a trap."

After fully arming herself, Zhao Xiaoyu gripped a kitchen knife, looked up at Wang Fan with a determined gaze, and...

“I know, but rather than sitting here waiting to die, I want to try and kill as many zombies as I can.”

Wang Fan was shocked by her resolute expression. He opened his mouth, but ultimately said nothing.

"I'm leaving. Take care of yourself."

Zhao Xiaoyu waved to him and walked away.

Wang Fan, who had been standing there stunned, hesitated for a moment, but finally made up his mind. He stomped his foot and chased after Zhao Xiaoyu, shouting as he did so:

“I’ll go with you! I’m going back to C province, and it’ll be convenient to go to the city along the way.”

Zhao Xiaoyu didn't stop walking; without even turning her head, she waved to someone behind her.

"Then hurry up, I'm not going to wait for you."

In Villa No. 7, Li Xin'er, lying on the bed, slowly opened her eyes. She had been using her soul power to monitor the situation of Zhao Xiaoyu and the other person.

Seeing the two carrying backpacks and holding kitchen knives, resolutely heading towards the road into the city, Li Xin'er smiled faintly.

Perhaps, for Zhao Xiaoyu, it no longer matters where she finally stops; at least, she is always on the road forward.

Li Xin'er had a good night's sleep, while Carl and Lu Jin'an's factions in Kyoto were having a hard time.

Carl and his group rushed to the hospital before the zombies surrounded them. Although they encountered many zombies along the way, they were able to deal with them relatively easily.

Arriving at the hospital was when the real disaster began.

The hospital was like a fallen battlefield, a scene of utter devastation, with zombies everywhere, crowding every floor.

A direct assault was out of the question, so Carl decided that he would take two men to sneak in quietly, trying not to make any noise or attract the zombies' attention. Once they got the medicine, they would leave, while the others stayed on the perimeter.

The arrangements were simple, and once they were put into practice, the whole night had passed.

When Carl and his two teammates came out of the hospital carrying medicine, the sky was already turning white. The three of them were exhausted and looked disheveled.

Fortunately, after the wounded received medication, apart from two who required surgery, the others no longer needed to worry about anything.

Carl didn't dare to rest for a moment and immediately started working on the transportation issue.

The group sat together, eating dry rations, while Pigeon pointed the computer screen at them.

"We can't go to the military air base, whether there are still planes or not. There are only two possibilities: either there are too many people or too many zombies. We can't take it down."
