Chapter 86 Beach BBQ

Zhao Xiaoyu walked back to Villa No. 18, having exhausted almost all her strength. She leaned against the door, panting heavily.

Pushing open the half-closed door, the stench of blood mixed with a foul smell assaulted her senses, almost making her faint.

"Yangyang!"

She leaned against the door frame, anxiously calling into the room.

"Yangyang! Your sister is back, Yangyang, come out!"

Receiving no response, Zhao Xiaoyu closed her eyes, trying to calm the dizziness in her head. She gritted her teeth to stay awake and headed straight for the room on the second floor.

Having finally reached the top of the stairs to the second floor, Zhao Xiaoyu's legs went weak at the sight before her, and she collapsed to her knees. Crying, she crawled towards the open door.

"Yangyang, sob sob... Yangyang..."

Her brother's room was half-open, and the little boy's head and body were separated. The bloodstains inside the room and in the hallway outside had dried and turned black, indicating that he had been dead for a long time.

"Ah! Why! Why!"

Zhao Xiaoyu lay on the corridor wall, crying and screaming hysterically.

'smack'

The sound of a plastic bottle falling to the ground came from the kitchen downstairs. Zhao Xiaoyu stopped crying instantly. She didn't know where the strength came from, but she stood up in one breath and ran downstairs aggressively.

He grabbed a vase from the living room, held it in his hand, and rushed straight towards the kitchen.

Just then, a young man wearing glasses, carrying a backpack, and holding a kitchen knife walked out of the kitchen.

He brandished the kitchen knife and warned Zhao Xiaoyu.

"Don't do anything reckless, I just came in to find something to eat."

Zhao Xiaoyu, her eyes bloodshot, glared at him fiercely and asked:

"You killed my brother?!"

The man jumped up and down in a panic, stretching his neck as he retorted.

"Nonsense! Don't frame me! That child was clearly killed by those three security guards when they came in looking for food. It has nothing to do with me!"

Zhao Xiaoyu looked him over suspiciously.

"Which building are you from? I've never seen you before. And you said they killed him, where's the evidence?"

Looking at Zhao Xiaoyu's expression with a hint of sympathy, the man sighed helplessly and said:

"Hey, why don't you believe me when I tell you? I stayed in number 16, a short-term rental for tourism, and I was unlucky. I only stayed for three days before the end of the world."

"Those security guards came out to search things yesterday morning. I heard noises next door, so I climbed out and hid in the bushes."

I saw them enter this building with my own eyes, and shortly afterward, I heard children crying inside.

“I also saw them moving a lot of food back from this building, really, I’m not kidding you.”

Actually, by this point, Zhao Xiaoyu was already seventy or eighty percent convinced.

She also overheard them discussing searching for supplies, saying they would look in every building.

She was worried Yangyang would be discovered, but they said they would search the first few buildings first...

Yesterday morning, Zhou Yong and the others did go out, and when they returned at noon, there was a smell of cooking coming from downstairs.

She didn't get any food; they were already being kind by not letting her starve to death, let alone get any hot meals.

The man was still explaining earnestly.

"I came here to scavenge for food. There's really nothing else to eat. The villas in front are all empty, not to mention food, some even lack furniture. Otherwise, I wouldn't have risked coming in. I'm scared too."

He just went up to the second floor and almost peed his pants in fright—it was a crime scene!

I wouldn't even dare to dream of something like this.

Zhao Xiaoyu then realized that the buildings in front were basically uninhabited. How could there be food in uninhabited buildings?

Her vision went black, and she fainted.

"My God, is this some kind of staged accident scam!"

The man was startled. He warily raised his knife and walked over to slap Zhao Xiaoyu's cheek.

"Hey, hey, wake up, wake up!"

·

Did Li Xin'er choose to stay in the cleanest villa, number 7? It was clean because the villa was newly renovated, and the furniture was still wrapped up.

Li Xin'er was too lazy to disassemble the furniture piece by piece, so she simply put all the furniture into her space.

Then she placed the furniture she had taken from the original owner's apartment in the living room, and the villa instantly felt like home.

The two silly dogs ran around excitedly with the fighter jets, but they preferred the small yard outside the house, where they roamed freely.

Wenwen sat on the sofa, completely motionless, like a wooden doll.

Li Xin'er went upstairs to choose a room, laid out the bed and other furniture for sleeping, and then came down to call Wenwen to go to the courtyard.

"Let's go out for dinner. At sunset, with the sea breeze and the sea view, it's the perfect time to set up a barbecue grill, grill some skewers, and have a few drinks."

Wenwen's round eyes showed some confusion.

Li Xin'er smiled and tapped her nose.

"Boring."

Stepping into the courtyard, where there were ready-made outdoor chairs, Li Xin'er set up a barbecue grill and charcoal.

"Fighter jets, come closer!"

The fighter jet, which was 'spreading its wings and soaring high,' suddenly retracted its large chicken wings and waddled over.

Upon seeing the iron frame, it had a bad feeling, but it was too late.

"Light the charcoal."

Li Xin'er has already made the arrangements.

This doesn't seem too difficult? The fighter jets accepted the mission with great fanfare.

Li Xin'er then started taking out various dishes, seasonings, chilled beer, fruit, and small cakes.

The two silly kids, who were playing wildly, were attracted by the commotion and stood in front of the table staring at a pile of meat, drooling uncontrollably.

The fighter jet, spitting fire and lighting charcoal, followed Ersha's gaze.

Chicken drumsticks, chicken feet, chicken wings...

It was trembling all over, and it breathed fire even more vigorously.

Li Xin'er followed the steps she had observed others using when eating barbecue, full of confidence.

Although she's not good at cooking, she can definitely handle something as simple as grilling.
