Chapter 52 Leaving the Hotel (1)

Li Xin'er had already noticed that Li Yiyuan's expression was somewhat strange after those people appeared, changing from surprise to wariness.

That defensiveness is different from the subconscious fear others feel; it's more like an emotion stemming from understanding.

Sure enough, upon hearing her question, Li Yiyuan paused, hesitated for a moment, and finally quickened his pace to her side, whispering:

"They are one of the top three battlewing legions in the world, and their commander is Carl, nicknamed Eagle."

He once single-handedly annihilated a top-tier hundred-man legion from Country E, and that mission propelled him to legendary status in the industry.

"There is very little information about the Eagles to the outside world, but those who have met him have a surprisingly consistent opinion of him."

Li Xin'er was curious and couldn't help but ask further.

"Oh? What's your opinion?"

"Terrifying indeed."

Hearing this assessment, Li Xin'er became even more interested in Carl. Was he really that terrifying?

She really wanted to see just how terrifying people were, to see what they called "terrifying as this".

I just don't know if I'll ever have that opportunity.

Li Xin'er didn't ask any more questions, so Li Yiyuan continued speaking.

"The medic who spoke to you is called Gavin, codenamed Grey Magpie. He's incredibly skilled in medicine, but he's also a complete madman."

Don't let his harmless appearance fool you; he's actually incredibly ruthless, earning him the nickname "Little Devil." It's said that in his interrogation room, there's no one he can't get to talk.

Li Xin'er nodded knowingly, realizing that the little liar was no pushover.

"The 12 people who came today are all the members of their regular team. They've always been active in Country Y, but for some reason, they've stayed in China this time."

As for Ali, who was with Ye Guangyu, I have never met him and know nothing about him; there is no international record of him.

Judging from their interaction today, I'm guessing that Ali is a member of Zhan Yi in China.

Upon hearing this, Li Xin'er understood, and then she asked thoughtfully:

"You seem to know quite a bit about these things. So, who's your boss? Does he have a grudge against Zhan Yi?"

What kind of job could provide such information? Li Xin'er naturally thought of the boss that Li Yiyuan had repeatedly mentioned.

Li Yiyuan shook his head and only said briefly,

"No, we don't interfere with each other."

Seeing that he was unwilling to say more, Li Xin'er did not press him further. Everyone has their little secrets, and she figured her guess was pretty much right anyway.

As they approached the first floor, Li Xin'er opened the door and took a look. The once magnificent hall was now filled with a foul stench.

The hall was covered in blood, and there were two blackened female corpses with messy metal bars stuck in their heads. Their heads were mangled and unrecognizable.

The sound of her pushing open the door instantly gave the zombies, who had been wandering aimlessly outside, a target. They moved at the sound and pounced towards the door.

'Ho ho, ho ho.'

The glass door was covered in black bloodstains from being slapped.

"This thing's ears are surprisingly good," Li Xin'er said with a look of disdain. She glanced at it and then turned away, continuing to lead the group toward the underground parking lot.

The further down you go, the darker it gets, with only the green emergency exit signs emitting a faint glow.

Li Xin'er remained silent, and the others followed in silence, creating a terrifying and eerily quiet atmosphere.

Xiaomai, who was following behind, suddenly missed a step on the stairs and let out a cry of surprise.

"ah!"

"wheat!"

She and Xiaomi were holding hands the whole time, and Xiaomi reacted quickly by grabbing her arm.

Li Feng turned around and asked,

"What's wrong?"

Xiaomai quickly apologized, afraid they would think she was holding them back.

"It's okay, it's okay, I just missed a step, sorry."

She was already nearsighted and wasn't used to walking on such dark roads, not to mention she was very nervous and accidentally missed a step.

Li Feng spoke gently.

"Be careful, no rush."

"good."

Li Feng and Li Yiyuan are both superhumans, and with their enhanced senses, they didn't find the darkness a problem. Li Xin'er was even less affected; it was like walking on flat ground for her.

Li Yiyuan listened to the conversation behind him without saying a word, but silently gathered his fire-type ability in his hand, and a flame ignited in his hand, instantly illuminating the stairwell.

Xiaomi and Xiaomai looked at the backs of the three people in front of them, their eyes welling up with tears.

Touched, grateful, and forever in their hearts, they will dedicate their lives to this act of kindness!

The hotel's parking lots are all located below the main building. After going down to the basement level, you have to walk through a passage that is 2 meters wide and more than ten meters long, and pass through the bottom of the building to reach the parking lot.

In the passageway, Li Feng gripped his long sword tightly, remaining vigilant, and suggested:

"Sister Xin, shall I go first?"

There might be zombies in the parking lot; it would be safer for him to clear a path with a knife.

Li Yiyuan transformed the flame in his hand into a fireball and flew straight past Li Xin'er.

"I'll do it."

Although they all knew that Li Xin'er was very capable, they would still subconsciously stand in front of her to protect her every time, because in their eyes she was also a girl.

Li Xin'er didn't stop her; she was quite happy to lie down.

Just as I stepped out of the passage, a zombie suddenly pounced in from the exit.

'Ha!'

Fortunately, Li Yiyuan's fire-based ability allowed him to see clearly in advance and had enough time to react. He kicked the zombie away and threw a fireball at its head.

At that moment, Li Feng rushed over, gripped the knife hilt with both hands, and swiftly chopped off the zombie's head.

With the crisis averted, the two exchanged glances and nodded, then each scanned a different direction to check the situation in the parking lot.

Apart from this zombie, no other unusual activity was detected.

Li Xin'er took out her car key and pressed it. The headlights came on, and everyone could see the black Jeep parked not far away. It was tall and powerful and looked very durable. Everyone's eyes shone like light bulbs.
