Side Story 3: Shen Zhuxin and Lu Chen (1)

Shen Zhuxin first sent a request to the main brain to meet the goddess.

She then dealt with official business. Before long, a light blue halo appeared in front of her eyes; the communication panel had popped up.

[The Goddess of the Nation sends a telegram]

Upon seeing the words on the panel, Shen Zhuxin immediately tensed up, transformed back into human form in a flash, and plopped down on the seaweed chair, straightening her back ramrod straight.

After the call was connected, a figure gradually appeared on the light screen.

She was an exceptionally beautiful woman, dressed in a magnificent golden phoenix robe, as if she had descended from the heavens to the mortal world, making it impossible for anyone to look directly at her.

Chen Zhuxin didn't look up; instead, she lowered her head, clenched her right fist, and placed it over her heart.

"May Your Majesty, the Goddess, be well."

"You want to see me?"

The goddess's voice exuded an innate noble temperament and majestic aura.

When her gaze falls on you, even just a fleeting glance, you feel an invisible pressure bearing down on you.

Shen Xinzhu trembled involuntarily with nervousness, and pursed her dry lips.

"Your Majesty, your subordinate... has a favor to ask."

The goddess seemed to have taken a liking to it, and her tone became lighter.

"Oh? What is it?"

Shen Zhuxin kept her head down. The goddess frowned in displeasure and added another sentence.

“Raise your head and speak.”

Shen Zhuxin obeyed the command almost subconsciously, staring blankly up at the goddess's gaze.

His eyes were deep and sharp, seemingly able to see through everything, inspiring awe in those who looked up to him.

Shen Zhuxin averted her gaze again and quickly lowered her head.

"Your subordinate has been disrespectful; please forgive me, Your Majesty."

The goddess seemed to laugh in exasperation, and then asked the person beside her,

"Xi Su, do I look scary?"

Upon hearing this, Shen Zhuxin shrank back even further.

Xi Su Gongzi? The goddess's third husband?

As everyone knows, the goddess has her own little world called the Phoenix Heaven Dynasty, where she is the empress.

The goddess currently has seven husbands, none of whom are ranked in any particular order; they are listed in the order in which they married.

This young master Xi Su is the third one, and he's also the one who frequently visits the Time and Space Bureau. Many people have seen him before.

The mainframe's video recording function is not specifically configured; it only captures the image and voice of the person in the video.

At this moment, Shen Zhuxin could not see that there was anyone next to the goddess, nor did she hear Xi Su Gongzi's reply.

When the goddess spoke again, she seemed quite pleased and even had the mood to tease Chen Zhuxin.

“Chen Zhuxin, raise your head and speak. I remember you used to be the number one troublemaker in the underwater world. You’ve only been in the Time and Space Bureau for a few hundred years, but you’ve changed quite a bit.”

Shen Zhuxin's lips twitched. Only a few hundred years.

Your Majesty, would you like to hear what you have to say?

If she hadn't entered the Time and Space Bureau and been able to exchange her salary for lifespan, the mermaids would have lived for at most a few hundred years, with a maximum of a thousand years.

However, after the goddess said that, Shen Zhuxin relaxed and was no longer as reserved as before.

She began to tell her story.

During one of her outings, she encountered a time-space confusion and momentarily lost herself.

Xin'er received news from Aquamarine Star that someone there was looking for her.

It's important to understand that a single breath they take in the spacetime turbulence translates to several years or even decades in a lower plane.

Shen Zhuxin was flustered. The name and appearance matched perfectly, and given that she had indeed made that mistake, she was almost certain that the person the Lu family of Water Blue Star was looking for was her.

But she had no memory of that period, and still held onto a sliver of hope, which is why she sought the goddess's help.

After all, if this were true, it would need to be reported to Her Majesty the Goddess to avoid being discovered by law enforcement and used as evidence of disrupting the order of time and space.

After Shen Zhuxin finished speaking, she waited for Her Majesty the Goddess to speak and make a decision.

In the few moments of waiting, it was as if time itself had frozen, and the surrounding air became heavy.

Finally, amidst her anxious anticipation, the goddess spoke with remarkable calmness:

"Since you've made your decision, I'll have Haoxuan help you recover that memory."

Upon hearing these words, Shen Zhuxin was deeply moved and once again bowed respectfully.

"Your Majesty, I thank you for your grace."

Baihu Haoxuan is one of the four divine beasts accompanying the Goddess.

With him taking action, it's as if the goddess herself has intervened; for them, this is a tremendous honor.

Then the goddess said again:

“You’ve been working very hard lately, so I’m giving you a few days off. You can go on vacation to Aquamarine.”

"Of course, if you regain your memories and don't want to go to Water Blue Star, you can go somewhere else. You can discuss this with Haoxuan yourself."

Shen Zhuxin's breathing quickened with excitement, and her eyes sparkled as she looked up at Her Majesty the Goddess.

Then, moved, tears welled up in her eyes.

"Your Majesty~"

Her tone unconsciously took on a hint of coquettishness.

A day off for the Time and Space Bureau is equivalent to 10 years in a world like Water Blue Star.

Giving her a few days off is a way of letting her spend the rest of her life there.

Waaah, Her Majesty the Goddess is still so good to her.

"I just praised you, but you've changed over the centuries. Why are you still as prone to crying as before?"

The goddess spoke with a doting tone, and as she spoke, Chen Zhuxin felt the goddess's unique spiritual power emerge from the screen and gently wipe her eyes.

More than four hundred years ago, she was a little princess in an underwater world.

Because he was the youngest, he had the strongest talent for cultivation among his dozen or so brothers and sisters, and was the only one to inherit the family's innate skills.
