Lu Chen gestured with his chin towards Lu Peiting, pointing to the black chair opposite his desk.
"sit."
Lu Peiting kept his head down, like a child who had done something wrong. He walked forward and carefully pulled out a chair to sit down.
Lu Chen continued looking down at the documents in his hand, and asked casually:
"Where did you go? Why didn't you contact your family? Do you know how worried your father is about you?"
Lu Peiting pursed his lips again, hesitated for a few seconds, and then answered truthfully.

He suppressed the humiliation of having his self-esteem trampled on and nodded emphatically.
Lu Chen pressed further, "Do you know your identity?"
The only thing he could think of was that Lu Peiting's family identity had been exposed, and the fugitives wanted to use it to blackmail him.
Lu Peiting's chest was noticeably more exposed; he took a deep breath and smiled at Lu Chen.
The smile, though not deep in his eyes, carried a hint of defiance and resentment.
"I'm sorry to disappoint my third uncle. It's not because of the Lu family, but simply because of this face. That fugitive is my fan."
Lu Peiting's reaction piqued Lu Chen's interest, his eyes shining even brighter. He put down the documents in his hand, looked up and stared directly at Lu Peiting, exuding the authority of an elder and a superior, before smiling gently:
"You've made something of yourself."
Lu Peiting pursed his lips and remained silent, but Lu Chen pressed him for more information.
"Then who saved you?"
"My junior colleague at the same company, Li Xin'er."
A dark glint flashed in Lu Chen's eyes, but he casually repeated Li Xin'er's name.
"Li Xin'er".
He already knew about the Fu family, the War Wing Legion, and Li Xin'er from his elder brother Lu Zheng.
A celebrity who can get involved with both of these forces is unlikely to be a good person.

"Who is she with?"
Lu Peiting didn't react for a moment. He was stunned for a moment, wondering who he was asking about. He asked in confusion:
"who?"

"Li Xin'er, who was Li Xin'er with when she saved you?"

“Just say what you have to say. Why are you beating around the bush? Are you that afraid of me? Do you think your third uncle would eat people?”
Lu Peiting thought about it and decided to speak frankly.
"Um... Li Xin'er asked me to pass on a message to you."
"Oh? For me? What do you mean?"
