Chapter 74 The Zombie King Enters

If you looked down from above, you would see seven or eight people on each rooftop, armed and ready to kill any zombies that managed to climb up.

On the rooftop of every six buildings, there are two armed individuals, or others with ranged abilities such as wind blades, ice swords, wooden spikes, and fireballs, providing protection.

The battle raged fiercely. For a time, the survivors of the legendary city seemed to have the advantage of terrain, and the zombies couldn't climb the city walls at all.

Just as some survivors were feeling smug, a fireball was spat out from the mouth of a zombie below, hitting a survivor who was throwing stones down from the city wall right in the face.

The survivor covered his face, cried loudly, and ran around haphazardly. Suddenly, he lost his footing and fell headfirst off the city wall.

The survivors who were defending the city wall were stunned for a moment. Seeing their companion, who had escaped into the city with them, die right before their eyes, they shouted, "I'll fucking fight you to the death!"

As he spoke, he picked up a stone from the wall and began throwing it down with all his might.

At the foot of a city wall on the east side, a giant zombie, two meters tall, was smashing the wall with its hammer-like fists, sending bricks and stones flying everywhere.

The survivors on the city wall were extremely anxious. One of the young men quickly found the captain of the security team not far away and explained the situation.

The security captain first looked at the location of the giant zombie, then took a few steps, and suddenly grabbed a rope on the city wall and jumped down.

Due to inertia, as the security captain approached the giant zombie, the axe in his hand, glowing green, slashed across the giant zombie's head.

The giant zombie's iron fist, which was still pounding on the city wall, suddenly dropped, followed by the sound of a heavy object falling to the ground.

As the giant zombie was chopped to death by the captain with a single axe blow, the team members on the wall whistled and shouted, "Captain is awesome! Captain is mighty!"

Before the security captain below the city could even gloat for a few seconds, an equally enormous zombie, carrying a withered tree trunk as thick as an arm, hurled it from a distance.

With a "whoosh!" sound, a sharp burning sensation came from the security captain's abdomen. He looked down and saw a hole the size of a bowl in his stomach.

The moment the burning sensation subsided, an excruciating pain followed. The security captain used one hand to plant the axe in the ground to support himself and prevent himself from collapsing.

As his intestines and blood continued to flow out of his stomach, his consciousness gradually began to blur. He forced his head up to look at his teammates on the city wall, as if trying to remember the faces of these brothers and sisters with whom he had lived day and night.

Slowly, his body collapsed to the ground. Just as he fell, he saw another huge zombie running towards him from a distance. He thought to himself, "Damn it, you're the one who killed me. If I have an afterlife, I'll definitely kill you."

Just as he was about to lose consciousness, he suddenly remembered the sun water the city lord had given him. He used his last bit of strength to take out a bottle of sun water, opened it, and poured it into his mouth.

The giant zombie that had just run over roared as it looked at the excited humans on the city wall.

As the zombie continued pounding on the city wall, it thought to itself, "Why are these humans so excited to see me? Shouldn't they be afraid?"

For a moment it didn’t know why, it only knew that it had smashed the city wall and found delicious food inside.

It was still desperately swinging its huge iron fist, smashing the city wall with a "boom boom boom!"

He looked on in confusion. "Another giant zombie? It's smashing the city wall right next to me. Is it trying to steal my food?"

Wait a minute, why doesn't this zombie have a head? Hey, who's that guy with the giant axe behind this zombie? Isn't that the person I just killed?

Its last memory was of the man's other hand drawing a giant wooden spike that pierced through the giant zombie's abdomen.

The security captain, who was thought to be dead, suddenly stood up when the newly arrived giant zombie smashed the wall. He held a giant axe and chopped off the zombie's head.

Originally a strength-based security captain, he awakened a second wood-based ability while drinking sun water on the verge of death.

He imagined himself dying just moments before, and drew a wooden spike with his left hand, then used it to reinforce the abdomen of the headless, giant zombie.

After the zombies fell, he patted the dozens of bottles of sun water in his arms, feeling even more admiration and gratitude for the mysterious city lord.

With the second wave of zombies attacking, the survivors of the legendary city clearly felt what pressure was.

The battle has also changed from the first phase where survivors were easily defeating zombies to the point where mutant zombies would occasionally kill survivors.

After Yuan Chuyi unleashed another Ice Roar, he shouted to the three women from afar, "Our main task is to kill the mutant zombies. The ordinary zombies don't pose much of a threat to the people on the city wall."

After speaking, he also issued an order in the team chat to focus on killing the superpowered zombies.

On another part of the battlefield, after releasing a wall of fire, Zhou Yu began to observe the situation of the zombies around him.

She squinted at a metallic zombie with hands that had transformed into giant hammers, which was violently smashing the city wall.

She nimbly dodged the onrushing ordinary zombies. Just as she approached the metal-type zombie, she felt a chill coming from behind her. Ignoring her, she quickened her pace.

She leaped suddenly from the city wall, twisting her waist as she soared into the air, landing headfirst on the metal zombie's head. With her left hand, she shot an ice spike, while with her right hand, she thrust her sword into the spot where the ice spike had disappeared.

Two sharp "clangs" and "thuds" were heard before the metal zombie crashed heavily to the ground. But Zhou Yu, who had just landed, did not stop. As she turned around, she drew her sword and slashed down at the ice ball that was following her.

"Crash." The sound of ice shattering rang out, and at the same time, the ice cone spell that had been formed in the left hand was activated again. An even more chilling cone flew through the shattered ice and rushed towards the ice-powered zombie in front.

With a "pop," the head of the once smug ice-type zombie exploded like a burst balloon.

At the very rear of the zombie horde, a group of people were watching the zombie attack through binoculars. The pale-faced man lowered his binoculars, looked at Ma Wenhua, and said:

"They've clearly made thorough preparations and are waiting for us to attack. But it doesn't matter, they're only killing ordinary zombies right now."

As he spoke, he turned around and looked at the two zombies behind him. A red light flashed in the pale man's eyes, and the two zombies roared and ran towards the zombie army.

The pale-faced man watched the two zombies run away and muttered to himself, "I wonder if you can withstand the attack later."

On the battlefield, the originally chaotic horde of zombies underwent a qualitative change after the arrival of the two zombie kings.
