6. Chapter 6: Leaving the City, Renting a Car

"Hey, aren't you?" The boy didn't know how long he had followed her, even passing through various gaps between tall buildings. Looking at the tall buildings getting farther and farther away, the sky was completely dark, and he felt a little chilly. The key point was, how did she know this shortcut?

Who would have known that Bai Ling had to escape from this city from a pile of zombies in her previous life and had planned the route several times. How could she not know where the shortcut was?

Leaving the densely populated areas does not mean that the area around the big city is a desolate place. On the contrary, there are many shops nearby, especially various 4S stores, and even car rental companies, supermarkets and places where residents live.

Bai Ling looked at the time, "Nine fifty?" She really wanted to swear. She didn't expect that even if she didn't encounter any obstacles in this city and took a shortcut, it still took her so much time, and there was still forty minutes left.

The biting and cannibalism incident in her previous life happened around 8:30. She was outside now and wondered if it would happen earlier.

Fortunately, "Shunfeng Car Rental" is not far away!

The reason why she knew about this car dealership was because she had helped with advertising planning here. The cars here can be said to be of all kinds.

The boss was a middle-aged man in his forties. When Bai Ling arrived, she threw her bicycle on the ground and ran in quickly.

The owner of the car rental shop was just delivering a car. Seeing a customer at the door so late at night, he wanted to greet the customer, but she actually ran towards him. He quickly saw who she was, "Ah, isn't that Miss Bai? Why are you here at my rental shop today?"

Then he laughed again, "Hey, the advertising plan your company designed for us is really good. Our revenue has been increasing rapidly recently."

Bai Ling just nodded slightly in return. Perhaps because she had lived in the apocalypse for too long, she was a little uncomfortable facing such a warm and harmless person.

Although she knew that time was running out, she was not in a hurry. "Boss Xiao, I came to you today to rent a car!" Bai Ling said as she took out a card. On the card was all her savings from the past three years of work. She had originally planned to give it to her grandmother, uncle and sister when she had saved enough. But after the end of the world, would money be useful?

Food is the most precious thing. People would fight to the death for a piece of bread. Thinking of this, Bai Ling's eyes darkened and she thought of her sister.

"Oh?" The forty-year-old boss thought he had misheard, but seeing her determined look, he nodded and smiled. "Okay, since it's Miss Bai who wants to rent a car, I'll give you a discount. I wonder what kind of car Miss Bai would like to rent?"

Without saying a word, Bai Ling pointed directly at a black, latest model Land Rover on the car rental company's billboard.

This type of car has a high chassis and other very good performance. If possible, Bai Ling would rather rent a Land Rover military vehicle, but that kind of car generally does not appear in these places.

The forty-year-old boss looked up and smiled. The rental fee for this car was naturally high, and he could make a lot of money. "Okay! How many days will I rent it for?"

"One day!" Bai Ling learned to drive after graduating from college, because her uncle is now in the car repair industry and has a second-hand car that was modified from a scrap car. She often helps run errands and deliver things!

Later, in the apocalypse, Bai Ling's driving skills became even more proficient as she escaped from the pursuit of various zombies and mutant beasts!

"One day?" Was it an emergency? "Okay, follow me!" Without wasting any time, she waved to the employee beside her and gave a few instructions.
