When little Bai Ling woke up in the middle of the night, she didn't see her gentle mother. Instead, she heard screams and familiar moans outside. She was so scared that she opened the curtains and climbed to the window. In the moonlight, she saw with her own eyes that on the bridge not far from their home, a man grabbed her mother's neck and pulled her into the river.
When she ran over desperately, she saw her mother lying in the shallow river under the dim moonlight, with her head bleeding, face pale and body twisted.
No matter how she screamed, her mother could no longer hear her voice, nor would she smile at her gently, let alone talk to her.
The next day, before their mother's body had even been laid to rest, someone rudely came and took their house away. This person was their biological father, the father who had once hugged them with a smile, told them stories, told them he loved them, bought them delicious food and fun things, and doted on them like crazy!
Hehehe, that face had never been cold towards them, and she had never even glanced at her mother's body.
She and her mother waited eagerly for him to come home for a whole year, but this was the result.
What happened next? Bai Ling's memory was a little fuzzy.
The only thing she remembered was that she somehow ended up holding her mother's urn and walked all night from her grandmother's house back to her old home. When she saw the man, she asked him, "Did you kill my mother?"
She repeated it sentence by sentence, over and over again. Even when the man who once doted on her and her sisters pinched her delicate neck, she still asked for the answer she wanted to know.
He finally lost his temper and said, "Yes, I don't want to live an ordinary life. Now there is an opportunity in front of me. Your mother is blocking my way, so I have no choice but to kill her. So, get out of here, and don't let me see you in the future. You block my way to wealth."
At that time, Bai Ling was only five years old. She was pushed down by the angry man and hit the chair where he had once taught her to play the piano, causing her to have a splitting headache.
She didn't know how she got back, but she heard from her grandmother that she was picked up from the hospital.
From then on, my mother and father always appeared in my dreams, and my once warm home, but the next second it was a bloody scene, my mother's death, and my father's hideous face like a devil.
"Huff, huff, huff..." With a click, the box in Bai Ling's hand fell down, and Bai Ling, who was panting, pressed her forehead tightly. Because she lowered her head, a crystal clear tear could be seen on her thick eyelashes.
Finally, she slowly closed her eyes. This would always be a nightmare for her. How could she ever forget the shadow of her childhood?
After a long time, she finally calmed down, opened her eyes, looked at the box on the ground, squatted down, picked it up, and the moment she took out the ring, Bai Ling's expression was dazed again. The moment her expression recovered, Bai Ling searched the box up and down, and finally saw a small piece of cloth under the ring. Because it was very thin, it was half the size of an A4 paper when unfolded.
There are words on it, written with a pen.
"Ling'er? You finally found it. I don't know how old you are now, and whether you are married and have children?"
"Ling'er, I think you already know where this ring came from!"
Bai Ling's mother probably thought that if she had gone out of her way to find this thing, she must have known its use. She never imagined that Bai Ling had simply picked it up by accident.
