"Xiaoxi, tell the psychics outside who have weapons and other firearms that Captain Fang in the army is a very law-abiding citizen and a good soldier. Tell them to hand over all their guns and weapons, because this is illegal!"
"Okay, sister, I'll go right away!" Bai Xiaoxi's lovely smile immediately turned into a cunning sneer, and she turned around and prepared to leave the tent without saying a word.
"Wait a minute!" At this moment, Jiang Yan, a man in his forties with a resolute face, spoke quickly. For the first time, he even felt a chill on his back because of a little girl.
Even though this is just a small sentence, if it really gets out, how will those people view them?
Is this just nonsense? If there are no weapons or guns to fight zombies, are we supposed to just let them fight hand-to-hand?
First, it would cause everyone to laugh at him as a fool, and second, it would completely make Fang Chao lose control over the mutants in his team.
"Why, I just swore that Captain Zhao kindly gave me a military uniform because I was injured and had nothing to wear. Is that illegal? Am I wrong?"
Jiang Yan and the others were already shaking with anger at the woman's words, but who would have thought that she would actually retaliate against them with what He Ligang had said before?
If they admitted it was illegal, then who here hadn't broken the law? If they didn't admit it, wouldn't that just be another slap in the face? Forcing them to even mock China's previous laws... was simply forcing them to say something that was heartbreaking.
What a cruel heart!
Then again, if Fang Chao and the others hadn't insisted on dragging Bai Ling into a discussion about pre-apocalyptic laws, how could they have reached this dilemma? He'd shot himself in the foot, so he had to endure the pain.
"Miss Bai Ling, right? We were just joking with you!" Fang Chao finally adjusted his thoughts and a kind smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. "Miss Bai Ling, why do you take it so seriously?"
"Are you kidding? Can legal issues be used as a joke?" Bai Ling's voice was a little colder, and it was obvious that she was not going to let them go just like that.
Fang Chao felt like he'd already compromised, and yet she still dared to keep going? She was so shameless! Did she really think they couldn't do anything to her?
Zhao Hu really wanted to see what they looked like when Bai Ling's sharp tongue pushed them into a corner. Unfortunately, they were still a team after all, and they absolutely couldn't let their faces be completely torn apart. He couldn't help but cough, then turned to look at Bai Ling with a smile, as if to act as a peacemaker, "Ms. Bai Ling, the law is of course no joke, but things are different now. I hope Miss Bai Ling will bear with me!"
In fact, Zhao Hu's help was a real blow to Jiang Yan and others. It was more disgusting than eating a fly.
After all, no one would be happy if the enemy pitied them or even offered help. Instead, they would feel that they had lost all their face and dignity!
"Captain Zhao, I always thought that soldiers serve the people and are highly respected by the Chinese people!" Bai Ling knew that if she really pressed the issue, these old guys would really turn against her, which would be disadvantageous to her. However, letting them go just like that was not Bai Ling's character at all, and her voice became increasingly calm.
"Yes!" Zhao Hu nodded. He had to admit it.
"We have always been law-abiding citizens!"
The corners of everyone's mouth twitched in unison.
