Chapter 106 Holy crap, I may not be human, but you're a real dog!

Shen Zhijie did something that defied everyone's expectations: he forcefully threw the fat cat into the air above the collapsed road.

Fat Cat had no idea what Shen Zhijie was going to do to him when he suddenly felt a weight on him and cried out in surprise, "Meow~~" as he was stepped on.

Then, with a powerful leap, he landed on the fat cat and stopped at the edge of the collapsed road on the other side. Xiao Mu then grabbed Shen Zhijie.

Fat Cat: Damn it, I may not be human, but you're a real dog!

I am a cat, not a swallow.

You're not a horse, okay?

Under Sang Ze's big eyes, the fat cat was being stepped on by Shen Zhijie.

My admiration for Shen Zhijie is so great that I am completely in awe.

As Xiao Mu pulled him up, Shen Zhijie was still muttering about the fat cat, saying, "It's so fat, yet it's falling so fast. I almost fell too."

Sang Ze looked at Shen Zhijie and gently patted his shoulder, saying, "6! Brother."

Shen Zhijie arrogantly tossed his short hair and, with an air of irresistible charm, said to Sang Ze, "An army is raised for a thousand days to be used in a single moment."

Shen Zhijie has once again refreshed everyone's perception of him.

A meow interrupted the conversation. Shen Zhijie and the others quickly ran towards the edge of the landslide area. They saw the fat cat slowly moving its obese body, crawling up five steps and then backing up four.

The first thing the fat cat did after climbing up was not to run towards Shen Zhijie, but to Jiang Yao, meowing at her feet.

Sang Ze looked at Shen Zhijie with an unkind smile, "You've been rejected."

Jiang Yao picked up the fat cat and put it in the cat carrier behind Shen Zhijie. Looking into Shen Zhijie's eyes, she patted his shoulder and said, "Be nice to your fellow human."

Xiao Mu smiled slightly and chuckled softly.

He Rui couldn't help but burst into laughter, clutching his stomach: "Shen Zhijie, you've finally met your match."

After the earthquake, most of the roads and buildings along the roadsides collapsed.

There was no other way; the road was covered with gravel and rocks, making it impossible for vehicles to move. They had no choice but to proceed on foot.

"Gurgle, gurgle," He Rui looked at his stomach, his face slightly flushed. "Sorry!"

Shen Zhijie pointed at He Ruigang, about to laugh, when his own uncooperative stomach began to protest.

Everyone looked at each other and couldn't help but smile.

The group decided to split up, which would save time and get them there faster.

Before setting off, Jiang Yao handed her gun to Sang Ze, while Xiao Mu handed his gun to He Rui. "Whether you find the supplies or not, you have to be back within an hour."

Shen Zhijie felt isolated. He looked at Jiang Yao and then at Xiao Mu. Seeing that neither of them intended to talk to him, he was about to speak.

Jiang Yao seemed to already know what he was going to say, "You don't need the gun."

"Right now, you are the greatest threat to the enemy."

Shen Zhijie felt his intelligence had been insulted. Just as he was about to retaliate, Jiang Yao leaned forward, grabbed his collar, and whispered in his ear in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Don't you feel like some kind of animal after you were injected with the drug?"

Jiang Yao's words made the hairs on Shen Zhijie's body stand on end.

Jiang Yao smiled mysteriously at Shen Zhijie and said slowly, "Make sure to mark the way."

They exchanged glances and then went their separate ways.

Jiang Yao turned and walked deeper into the building. With each step, she carefully looked around, as there were still aftershocks.

She found a spacious spot and took out the modified Jeep that she and Shen Zhijie had found behind the gas station.

After loading the supplies into the vehicle, we started the car and drove back the way we came.

Ah, driving a Jeep is still the most fun.

When Jiang Yao returned to the highway, Sang Ze, He Rui, and Xiao Mu had not yet returned; only Shen Zhijie was holding a dead chicken that he had somehow acquired.

Seeing Jiang Yao drive back, he quickly stepped forward, held up the chicken in his hand, and said to Jiang Yao, "Let's have chicken tonight!"

Jiang Yao sometimes had to admire Shen Zhijie; this guy never went anywhere empty-handed.

Soon Sangze and He Rui returned, and the two found some water and some biscuits.

After Jiang Yao saw that everyone had almost returned, she couldn't help but look in the direction Xiao Mu had left. Sang Ze and He Rui also noticed that Xiao Mu hadn't returned yet, and everyone started to worry.

As darkness fell, Shen Zhijie noticed that Xiao Mu had not yet returned and wondered if something had happened to him.

He stood up and said to the group, "I'm going to find Xiao Mu. If I haven't returned in an hour, you can leave now!"

"Don't bother with the mission in the DDC area. Go directly to Haizhou. He Rui knows what to do."

He Rui disagreed with Shen Zhijie's arrangement, saying, "We can go find Xiao Mu together."

"We are a team."

Sangze nodded in agreement.

Shen Zhijie handed the cigarette case and lighter from his pocket to He Rui and Sang Ze, looked into their eyes, and slowly said, "Since we're a team, shouldn't we reserve some strength for the team until we come back?"

After hearing Shen Zhijie's words, Jiang Yao frowned, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes. "I'll go with you!" she said, handing the car keys to He Rui, ready to go with Shen Zhijie to find Xiao Mu.

Shen Zhijie saw the worry in Jiang Yao's eyes clearly, so he did not refuse, and the four of them split up.

Jiang Yao and Shen Zhijie carefully followed the marks left by Xiao Mu, searching along the way. They didn't know how long they had been walking when another aftershock struck under the cover of night.

Looking at the pebbles constantly being shaken down by the aftershocks and the buildings collapsing as a result, Shen Zhijie's eyes began to redden. He couldn't help but shout loudly to his surroundings, "Xiao... Mu..."

"If you heard that, you'd better get out here right now."

The fat cat behind Jiang Yao was also whimpering softly in unease.

The area illuminated by the powerful flashlight contained only collapsed houses and cars crushed by rubble and rocks. The surroundings were so quiet that only the voices of the two people could be heard.

Continuing onward, Jiang Yao and Shen Zhijie stopped where they were. The surrounding area was filled with collapsed roads and collapsed buildings. If they couldn't find Xiao Mu before dawn, could they assume that he was still alive?

Shen Zhijie's eyes were bloodshot, and a light drizzle had started falling from the sky sometime earlier.

Jiang Yao looked at the rain clouds in the sky and continued to call Xiao Mu's name around, but there was still no one to answer.

Unaware of how much time had passed, the two did not give up their search for Xiao Mu. Weaving between abandoned cars and buildings where rocks could fall at any moment, Jiang Yao and Shen Zhijie continued to call Xiao Mu's name, but there was still no response.

The fat cat behind Jiang Yao suddenly seemed to sense something and began to get restless, wanting to come out.
