Xiao Mu looked out the window into the distance; the silent stillness of the night was the perfect hiding place for danger.
Seeing that Xiao Mu had taken his words to heart, Shen Zhijie silently turned and left.
Xiao Mu wondered if what was hidden in the shadows was observing them or resisting Shen Zhijie's presence when they were outside.
Before they arrived here, what were these monsters afraid of before they attacked?
Is it a medicine or...?
When Shen Zhijie came out of Xiao Mu's room, Jiang Yao happened to see him.
Shen Zhijie curled his lips into a playful smile, with a hint of roguishness, and said, "Jiang Yao, I was able to escape danger this time, and you deserve credit for that."
"Tell me if you encounter any difficulties in the future."
"I'd say I'm practically an Awakened One now."
"By the way, this is the new name I gave myself after surviving this ordeal. How about it, cool, right!"
Shen Zhijie's arrogance hasn't changed at all!
Jiang Yao's eyes were filled with disdain as she pouted and said, "I hope that in the end I'll be the one to save you."
Seeing this, Shen Zhijie shrugged and said, "It's still uncertain who will save whom!"
Jiang Yao returned to her room and lay on the bed, her mind filled with thoughts of the changes in Shen Zhijie since he regained consciousness.
And the mysterious potion in Xiao Mu's hand, as well as the folders in his own space with names and numbers he couldn't understand.
Jiang Yao thought of the file folder, suddenly sat up in bed, took out the file folder from her space and began to study it.
Perhaps she was looking too intently, because Jiang Yao didn't even notice the dark figure that flashed past the window.
The cat under the green plants suddenly raised its glowing green eyes and looked towards the door. After staring intently for a while and seeing no sound, it lay back down to rest.
Shen Zhijie sensed something shaking around the house. He didn't wake everyone, but listened carefully to the sounds outside.
After hearing the thing walk away, I drifted off to sleep again.
The next morning.
Just as Shen Zhijie placed the prepared breakfast on the table, a rustling sound came from outside the door.
Shen Zhijie did not disturb Jiang Yao and came to the door alone.
The cat at the door also stood up abruptly the moment it heard the sound, its ears twitching as it listened intently.
Suddenly, the noise outside the door grew louder. Shen Zhijie picked up a pistol from the shoe cabinet, cocked it, quickly opened the door, and fired without giving the other party time to react.
Upon hearing the gunshot, Xiao Mu and Jiang Yao grabbed their weapons and rushed to the door, where they were stunned by what they saw.
The rats on the ground were as big as Shiba Inu dogs.
Jiang Yao and Xiao Mu exchanged a glance, and when they looked at the large rat on the ground, they still couldn't quite accept it.
Is this biological evolution?
Jiang Yao felt like she was having a very long dream, with natural disasters, man-eating insects, mysterious monsters, and giant rats. If she hadn't been sure that she had been reborn, she would have been in a terrible dream.
Looking at everything before her, she couldn't believe it herself.

Jiang Yao felt that she should figure out the secrets behind Shen Zhijie before leaving.
Firstly, the weather outside was just too hot, and neither she nor Xiao Mu had the same advantages as Shen Zhijie.
If they were to move now, before they reached their destination, she and Xiao Mu might still be in a semi-ripe state. If the relationship gained momentum, they would be even closer to being fully mature.
Jiang Yao was indeed somewhat tempted by Shen Zhijie's transformation; after all, it would be a lie to say she didn't want such a powerful cheat.
Xiao Mu saw Jiang Yao's envy and sighed, gently rubbing his forehead with his left hand. "This potion was obtained by Shen Zhijie and me during a secret security mission, just like those files you put away."
"These things must not be allowed to leak out. If they fall into the wrong hands, who knows what kind of trouble might occur."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yao frowned and her eyes became alert. She slowly said, "So the route we took from Shichang Village was a plan you changed after you learned my secret."
"So that I can help you keep the files safe."
"Is it right?"
Looking into Jiang Yao's eyes, Xiao Mu replied, "Yes, our plan is to help the higher-ups build a safe haven."
"We are looking for the genome group leader in Shichang Village so that he can help us confirm the specific contents of this file and the ingredients of the medicine."
"Because of the appearance of the insects, we have to change our plans and bring you here."
Seeing that the conversation was too serious, Shen Zhijie quickly changed the subject to ease the atmosphere, saying, "So, Jiang Yao, how did you put those files away?"
"These items need to be carried with you during the transfer."
Seeing that Shen Zhijie had shifted the topic to her, Jiang Yao stood up and said, "I'm tired, I'll go back and rest first."
It turns out that Xiao Mu and Shen Zhijie had a plan from the very beginning, along with that unknown potion. They seemed to be more complex than she had imagined.
Seeing that Jiang Yao wasn't responding, Shen Zhijie said helplessly, "You know my secret now. We're all in this together now, so it's best if we stick together from now on."

Ignoring Shen Zhijie's suggestive words, Jiang Yao returned to her bedroom.
