Chapter 62 Rat King

The cat behind Shen Zhijie started meowing restlessly as soon as it heard the squeaking sound.

Left with no other option, Shen Zhijie held the cat in his arms and showed it the Rat King in front of it.

Shen Zhijie: With such a huge rat king, even if you were a cat, if you fell in, you would only be eaten, maybe not even left with crumbs, and you might not even be able to feed the rat king.

As if sensing everyone's disdain, the cat began to struggle in Shen Zhijie's arms in dissatisfaction.

Shen Zhijie began to lose control of it and eventually had to let go. The cat's eyes lit up with excitement the moment it gained its freedom.

Meow----

What I saw was a cat—no, it wasn't the fat cat from before anymore; it was more like a disgusting cat demon.

cat:?

You disgusting cat demon, do you even know how to speak?

The cat's body began to grow as if it had taken a growth hormone, its claws became longer and sharper, it pressed itself tightly against the ground, tightened its body, and leaped into the rat king's deep pit.

Jiang Yao looked at the cat in front of her and recalled that the last time it transformed, only its paws showed a kind of differentiation-like change. This time, even its body had changed, which was obviously due to another genetic mutation and evolution.

I just don't know what the final outcome will be for this cat.

This genetic mutation frightened Jiang Yao.

As if sensing something was about to happen, the Rat King began to stir.

The cat's eyes were bloodshot, and its movements were fluid and agile as it excitedly pierced one mouse after another with its sharp claws.

The Rat King let out a pitiful squeak.

Perhaps it was the Rat King's screams that reached the ears of the nearby rats, for a few rats began to appear sporadically and rush toward the Rat King.

Shen Zhijie couldn't bear to see his cats suffer, so he drew his gun and fired in bursts, killing them one by one.

The squeaking sounds in the distance grew closer. Jiang Yao took out a flamethrower from her spatial storage and handed it to the two of them. As soon as the rat swarm appeared, the three of them aimed the flamethrower at the rats and whooshed—the rats were instantly ignited.

The rats, now engulfed in flames, no longer cared about the rat king and began to scatter in all directions.

For the cat's safety, Shen Zhijie ignored the scurrying fire rats and called out to the cat, "Fat cat, come back quickly."

The fat cat ignored Shen Zhijie and continued to tease and kill the rats.

The Rat King had completely hit Fat Cat's sweet spot, and even Shen Zhijie's calls could not bring Fat Cat back.

Seeing that Shen Zhijie couldn't get the fat cat back, Jiang Yao could only take out a rope from her space, tie one end of the rope to the building's load-bearing column, and throw the other end to Shen Zhijie.

Shen Zhijie caught the rope and jumped quickly into the rat pit. He grabbed the scruff of the neck of the fat cat that was jumping up with one hand, and pushed his feet hard against the pit wall to lift himself up. Jiang Yao and Xiao Mu pulled hard to bring Shen Zhijie out of the rat pit.

The first thing Shen Zhijie did upon arriving was to put the fat cat into the bag that Jiang Yao had prepared in advance.

Xiao Mu reluctantly took the cat, left the explosives with Shen Zhijie, and quickly left with Jiang Yao.

Leaving Shen Zhijie behind to detonate the bomb was the best option, after all, Shen Zhijie was a speed-type changer.

Shen Zhijie ignited the bomb and threw it into the rat pit. He quickly turned around and ran outside. Jiang Yao had just found a hiding place when Shen Zhijie ran out of the building.

Shen Zhijie quickly found cover and hid, and then the building exploded.

Dust from the collapsed building and the blood and flesh of rats fell from the sky.

Military base.

When Sang You returned home with the medicine he had developed, Sang Ze was not home. Sang You first hid the medicine in an inconspicuous place.

Then I went out to the military district registration office and registered to join the AAS District People's Transfer Assistance Team.

at night.

Sang You told Sang Ze that he had also signed up to join the AAS District People's Transfer Assistance Team.

Sang Ze disagreed with Sang You going on the risk. He felt that Sang You should be doing scientific research in the laboratory, and that it would be a waste of his talents to go to the AAS area to help the military transfer people.

Sang You felt it was necessary to tell Sang Ze that he was conducting an experiment to return to MGJ and needed to collect samples from the AAS region.

Even if I don't tell him now, Sangze will know about the monster's existence after he goes to the AAS area.

Since that's the case, it's better to tell him in advance so he can mentally prepare himself to face the monster sooner.

Sangze could hardly believe that there were monsters in the ASS area.

Even though Sang You had explained it very clearly, Sang Ze still found it somewhat unacceptable that this kind of inhumane experiment was so difficult to accept.

Thinking that monsters might appear in the AAS area, Sang Ze decided to protect Sang You and accompany him to collect samples.

After Sangze fell asleep.

Sang You took out the potion and looked at it with some hesitation.

After a long while.

As if he had made up his mind, Sang You injected himself with a small dose.

......

After the Rat King's massive explosion, nearby buildings collapsed again within the ruins.

This makes the already difficult road even more challenging.

After Jiang Yao filled the ammunition belt, she handed it back to Shen Zhijie, looked at the fat cat in his hand, and asked, "Since when did you become so fond of fat cats?"

Shen Zhijie???

It's hard not to like someone you've taken care of yourself.

Meow---

Shen Zhijie kissed the fat cat and slowly replied, "I can't help it, I've been enjoying petting cats lately!" After saying that, he put the cat in the cat carrier, slung it over his shoulder, and the group continued to explore deeper into the ruins.

Jiang Yao couldn't understand why the monster had led them into this maze-like ruin.

Xiao Mu led the way as if he were very familiar with the place.

After walking for two hours, Jiang Yao and the others arrived at a building filled with corpses.
