Chapter 82 Dense Fog

Jiang Yao arrived at Zhu Hezheng and the others' car. Seeing that Wang Shiqi was still unconscious, she was about to turn around and leave when she saw Li Zhengnan running back, panting.

“Last night, someone got off the bus and disappeared.”

"Also, some refugees without cars have gone missing."

Upon hearing that someone had gone missing, Jiang Yao instinctively met Zhu Hezheng's gaze. Could this be the same thing that injured Wang Shiqi?

Jiang Yao brought the message back to the RV and said to everyone, "It's best if everyone avoids going out alone recently."

"To prevent any accidents from happening."

Jiang Yao prepared to continue searching for supplies within the city.

For safety reasons, Sangze and Sangyou stayed behind to look after the house.

Shen Zhijie, Xiao Mu, and Jiang Yao went together to search for supplies.

The three headed straight to a jade shop in the city. With Shen Zhijie's help, things went very smoothly this time.

Seeing that the jade shops in the city had been almost completely emptied, the group decided to try their luck at the wholesale market.

On their way to the wholesale market, Jiang Yao and her companions encountered a group of homeless people searching for food. Despite their tattered clothes, they did not appear to have experienced hunger.

As Jiang Yao passed by the other person, she smelled a strong stench of blood on him.

After smelling the blood on each other, Shen Zhijie and Xiao Mu took out their guns and became wary of each other.

Only those who have experienced killing know the taste of human blood.

Arriving at the Yanzhou wholesale market, it appears that it was not flooded during the heavy rain season.

After prying open the door of the Yanzhou wholesale store and checking that the goods inside were in good condition, the three of them put them all into their spatial storage.

In the grain and oil section, items that were not soaked in water were also stored in the space.

Time passed quickly. Looking at the tools he had used in the crime, Shen Zhijie said with a wry smile, "I never thought that Xiao Mu and I would end up breaking into houses."

"And he does it so well."

"There are many unexpected things, let's get to work." After saying that, Jiang Yao went to find the next job.

Xiao Muchen and Zhi Jie exchanged a glance, then shook their heads and smiled bitterly.

Soon, most of the goods in the wholesale market were collected.

Just before leaving, Shen Zhijie discovered the most popular form of entertainment, "Mahjong," in a room.

When Jiang Yao saw that Shen Zhijie hadn't followed the group, she turned around and saw that he had his eye on the mahjong set in the shop.

There was no other way but to come back and stand beside Shen Zhijie, watching the mahjong game with him.

Shen Zhijie turned to Jiang Yao beside him and said, "Why don't we bring one back too?"

Jiang Yao looked at the mahjong machine in front of her. It seemed that when she was stockpiling supplies, there were no such entertainment facilities.

Everyone's running for their lives right now, so how can we possibly play mahjong in such a grand way?

Jiang Yao hesitated, wanting to refuse.

Shen Zhijie simply tugged at Jiang Yao's sleeve and shook it gently, saying, "Let's get one!"

"Just watching it is satisfying!"

There's nothing we can do; they're always the first to start working!

It's just this one small wish, maybe we should grant it.

After Shen Zhijie finished speaking, he pried open the lock of the shop and pointed to one of the sets, saying, "I like this style."

"This one will do!"

Jiang Yao was speechless, feeling that Shen Zhijie was like a little girl shopping, wanting to choose a style she liked.

After casually putting the mahjong set that Shen Zhijie liked into the space, I noticed that there was also a jade mahjong set in the corner.

This was quite an eye-opener for Jiang Yao. Without any hesitation, she put all the mahjong tiles in the corner into her spatial storage and would sort them out slowly when she got back.

On her way back, Jiang Yao smelled the aroma of meat. Following the scent, she found the group of people she had met that morning cooking meat.

Jiang Yao was a little confused as to where they got the meat. Upon seeing this, Shen Zhijie pulled Jiang Yao away, intending to leave.

Unexpectedly, the noise startled the group of homeless people.

The group of homeless people stopped what they were doing and looked at Jiang Yao and her companions as if they were prey.

Xiao Mu and Shen Zhijie immediately took out their guns, and Jiang Yao also realized that something was wrong and took out her gun as well.

When the leader of the vagrants saw that the three men had guns, he raised his hand to stop them from advancing.

Xiao Mu led the two of them to retreat carefully and leave.

No one noticed that the homeless man smiled as he looked in the direction the group had left.

When Jiang Yao returned to the convoy, she found that several new RVs had arrived.

They were surrounded by a group of young and middle-aged refugees.

Upon seeing this, Shen Zhijie went to scout ahead.

From a distance, you could see several men outside the RV, seemingly talking to everyone.

Upon approaching, one of the men said to everyone, "Our young master said that from now on, whoever follows our young master will be taken to the Haizhou base."

"You need to understand, not just anyone can go in there."

“Without our young master leading you, if you want to get in, each of you will have to hand over one hundred catties of grain.”

The crowd began to murmur, "A hundred catties of grain, who can produce that much?!"

"How is this any different from taking our lives?"

"yes!"

Seeing that the atmosphere had been built up enough, the male lead revealed a satisfied sly smile and waved for everyone to quiet down.

"How about it? If you follow our young master, you can be exempted from 100 catties of grain and bring your family to live in Haizhou."

Upon hearing the name Haizhou, Shen Zhijie frowned. He looked at the leading man and felt that he looked somewhat familiar, but he couldn't quite place him.

Back in the RV, he took the water Sang Ze handed him and drank it. "They're a group of rich kids, recruiting people to go to Haizhou."
