Chapter 8 Three Starving Ghosts

As Yu Feng spoke, her whole expression was filled with worry and fear about the destruction of their small family life. She didn't treat Lingbao as her own child at all, as if she had never given birth to this child.

But if Yu Feng was afraid of Lingbao, the "uninvited guest", then Zhang Qiang was cruel.

The moment the word "unlucky" popped into his mind, a wave of murderous intent surged in his heart. If any of the spirit treasures dared to stay, he would kill them with his sword, without the slightest consideration for blood ties.

The man clenched his fists, and the malice in his eyes was so intense that it seemed to condense into water.

Outside the house, Zhuang Moxing, who was very sensitive to the smell, moved his narrow eyes slightly and glanced lightly in the direction of Zhang Qiang's bedroom.

Zhang Qiang's angry triangular eyes narrowed, and he glanced disdainfully at Yu Feng, who was panicking beside him. He impatiently pushed Yu Feng away, who was pulling at his arm, and said, "What are you panicking about! Follow me."

The man put on his honest appearance as a butcher, pulled Yu Feng out through the door, and when he saw the people outside, he was not surprised at all. Instead, he greeted them warmly and hospitably.

"Hey, what a rare guest! My wife told me that Lucky is back! Thank you, brother, for sending Lucky back!"

Zhang Qiang led Yu Feng to a seat in a loud voice, his eyes fixed on the three people opposite him, Zhuang Moxing and Liu Yu, and finally gave the unlucky guy a deep look.

This child, so skinny and unsophisticated, who worked so hard to eat, looked nothing like him! His heart suddenly hardened.

He looked away and continued to be polite: "Everyone who comes from afar is a guest! Eat something and fill your stomach...."

His eyes fell on the plate of food on the table, which was already half empty. Zhang Qiang paused and his eyelids twitched.

"Uh..." Where did these three starving ghosts come from!

Liu Yu and the other two had already let go before he came out. Liu Yu hadn't eaten these things for a long time, and he was really greedy. Moreover, in the apocalypse, everyone had long lost their manners, so Liu Yu wolfed down the food as soon as he sat down at the table.

Lingbao is still young and follows the adults' views. Seeing Liu Yu eating without any hesitation, this little country bumpkin naturally started to eat with his mouth watering.

Liu Yu took away half a bowl of beef with just three chopsticks. This was what the Yu Feng family could eat. The amount of food they ate was much larger than that of ordinary families, so they were able to handle Liu Yu's chopsticks.

Liu Yu and Ling Bao ate without any hesitation, but Zhuang Moxing suppressed his appetite with his good self-cultivation.

But after a few days of traveling, his appetite was very dull, and the hot meal in front of him really tempted him.

Liu Yu ate heartily while nudging Zhuang Moxing with his right hand. He glared at him with a look of disappointment, and if his eyes could speak, he would have started cursing.

What kind of conditions are these? You can still hold back when there is food in front of you. You really should wait until the end of the world for some reformation!

Zhuang Moxing's stomach made a long "gurgling" sound at the right time.

Liu Yu gave him a meaningful look, and Zhuang Moxing blushed slightly beneath his mask. Then, he dropped his reserve, took off his mask, and began eating, his movements graceful and unhurried. But he swallowed just as much as Liu Yu did.

Liu Yu glanced at his exposed face and was stunned for a second. Then she focused on stuffing the meat into her mouth without looking away.

For the "starving ghost", this moment of stunned silence was the highest respect for Zhuang Moxing's appearance...

The three of them ate quickly, but Zhang Qiang and Yu Feng looked so pale and painful.

Their family has always been generous with their food expenses, but they couldn't handle the amount of food these people were eating. Two-thirds of the dishes on the table were cleared away in no time, and the dumplings in the iron basin were almost empty.

They haven’t eaten yet!

Yu Feng wanted to throw Liu Yu and the others out on the spot.

Zhang Qiang originally wanted to chat with Zhuang Moxing while drinking, but how could they talk about anything when they were like this?

Zhang Fubao, who was already stunned in the child seat, cursed beside him: "Poor bastard, pig!"

Zhang Qiang immediately winked at Yu Feng. Yu Feng reluctantly picked up the struggling Fu Bao and carried him into the kitchen: "Bao'er, Mommy made Fu Bao's favorite sweet soup. Let's go to the kitchen and try it."

Seeing that all the dishes on the table were gone and not even a dumpling was left, Zhang Qiang's cheeks twitched twice, "Fubao is young and doesn't understand things yet. Don't take his childish words to heart, little Taoist priest. Is the rice enough for you? How about another bowl?"

Zhuang Moxing didn't take Fubao's words to heart. He put down his bowl and chopsticks and coughed softly, "No, that's enough. Thank you for the treat. I'm sorry."

Zhang Qiang quickly waved his hands: "No, no, little Taoist priest, please eat. Although my family's conditions are not good, we still have some food."

Liu Yu, who had taken the last bite of rice, looked down on him. Looking at the decoration of this room, the conditions are not good?

As if sensing Liu Yu's questioning gaze, Zhang Qiang sighed deeply, "This house is rented, not ours. My wife is very vain and insists that I rent a decent house. If we live in this house for a year, we won't be able to make ends meet."

Liu Yu lowered his head and rolled his eyes. This guy looked at the empty plates on the table and couldn't tell what delicious dishes were on it before, so he lied with his eyes open?

The meaty aroma in her mouth hasn't dissipated yet...

Zhang Qiang was talking to himself, and Zhuang Moxing took out a handkerchief and wiped the corner of his mouth, looking like he was listening carefully. He put away his handkerchief and took out a small one and handed it to Lingbao, whose mouth was full of oil, and nodded to indicate that he should wipe it himself.

Lingbao raised his tanned little face, smiling with his big white teeth, took the small handkerchief given by his senior brother, and wiped his little mouth in the same way as his senior brother had just done.

Zhang Qiang kept talking, constantly establishing a poor image for himself, his eyes shifting between Zhuang Moxing and Lingbao.

He narrowed his triangular eyes, trying to be kind, and looked at Lingbao's round head with a loving hand. Just as he was about to touch him, he froze when he remembered something. He withdrew his hand with a wry smile and said, "This is Meidan, right? He's this big now. This year... Uh, Meidan is a year older than Fubao, so he should be four years old."

Lingbao looked at the fat uncle in front of him in confusion, and looked around. There was no one next to him named "Modan"?

The child's confused little voice sounded loudly: "Who is the unlucky one? My name is Lingbao, the only treasure of Tianyi Temple!" He became proud as he said this.

This is the only advantage of not having friends of the same age at Tianyi Temple.

Zhang Qiang smiled awkwardly. "Lingbao, Lingbao sounds nice too. Was it the master who gave it that name?"

Zhuang Moxing touched Lingbao's head and said, "Our master got this name from fortune-telling."

Zhang Qiang nodded and smiled: "It sounds nice, it has the same character 'bao' in its name as my son Fubao, haha." He talked nonsense for a long time and finally got to the point.

"Young Taoist Priest, are you here to send Lingbao back home? The temple can no longer take him in? I can pay for his food! We won't let Tianyi Temple suffer any loss. You know the child's situation, we really can't take him in..."

Yu Feng, who had been eavesdropping in the kitchen, heard Zhang Qiang "selling bitterness" and quickly came forward with sweet soup and Fubao in her arms, agreeing: "Yes, Master, we can give you some money, you can take him back!"
