Chapter 30: Li Zhen Not Found
Duan Lei was lying on the ground, thinking of a question. Tian Yao didn't tell him how old the man named Li Zhen was!
"Never mind. If I don't know, then I don't know. With such a strange name, it should be easy to find."
Just as he told Tian Yao, he looked for his uncle who was a traffic policeman, but unfortunately, he did not find anyone named Li Zhen.
As soon as Tian Yao came out of the gym, Duan Xue, who had just returned from her trip, called her to Starbucks. Tian Yao jokingly asked, "Are you willing to abandon your Yang Wen?"
"Don't mention that playboy to me," Duan Xue said angrily, "He's been flirting with other girls all the way. Oh, and I bought you some local specialties!" She smiled, took out a paper bag from under the table, put it on the table, and pushed it in front of Tian Yao: "Try it!"
"Hate it! Do you think I'm a pig? I'll take it home and eat it." Tian Yao rolled her eyes at Duan Xue, then reached out to take the paper bag and put it next to her: "How was your outing?"
Duan Xue propped up her chin, complaining, but the joy between her eyebrows could not be concealed: "Tsk, what else can I do? I've been watching him flirting with other women all the way, and I can't scold him, and I can't beat him..."
"Actually, there is some good news, right?" Tian Yao tilted her head and looked at Duan Xue. This woman came to her as soon as she came back, not to complain about the previous topic, but to talk about the next topic.
"Of course!" Duan Xue smiled slightly smugly, pointing to her belly: "I'm pregnant."
"Huh?!" Tian Yao was shocked. Duan Xue's pregnancy was a great thing for her who was determined to marry into a wealthy family. Yang Wen's mother would agree to their marriage for the sake of the baby in Duan Xue's belly. However, the end of the world would be in less than two months. There would be no doctors or nurses at that time, and pregnant women would be despised by everyone. Besides, Duan Xue had no special abilities.
She wanted revenge, and even God was helping her!
Duan Xue saw Tian Yao's surprised expression and smiled even more proudly: "Are you really that scared?"
"It's not even a month yet! Oh—I'm so shy..."
"Then why are you still eating ice cream?" Tian Yao suppressed the nausea in her heart and snatched the ice cream from Duan Xue's hand: "For the future, you have to take good care of this baby. She is related to your future!"
Duan Xue was stunned for a moment, then took out her phone and started searching. "If you hadn't reminded me, I would have forgotten." She said as she checked her phone, "Yang Wen's mother said she'll invite your family over next week. My parents will be at our house for a get-together. If you see that kid Duan Lei, let him know that Yang Wen's mother and father already know about my brother! Tell him to behave better."
Tian Yao's heart was filled with alarm, and she said in embarrassment, "Unless your brother shows up on his own, where can I find him?"
"Then forget about him," Duan Xue waved her hand nonchalantly. "He can't interfere with my life now anyway, so as long as he doesn't abandon me. I can't let others know that my brother is a loser or something."
"Your brother is only fourteen, or fifteen? Children are just being naughty, why do you care about him? Your priority is the baby and the baby's father," Tian Yao pointed at Duan Xue's belly, her mind completely focused. What did Duan Xue mean by that? Did she realize Duan Lei and she were close? Or was she actually reborn?
"That's right!" Duan Xue pulled out her Chanel wallet, pulled out a few bills, and slapped them in front of Tian Yao. She turned gracefully and said, "I'm going to make an appointment with the doctor for a health check! You can go back and pay the bill. The extra money is for pocket money!"
"How generous!" Tian Yao was not polite. She would not go against money, even though it was indeed very embarrassing.
Duan Xue walked out of the coffee shop and gracefully hailed a car on the side of the road. Duan Lei walked out of an Internet cafe not far away with a nonchalant look on his face. He was dozing off and rubbing his eyes.
"Xiao Lei," Duan Xue frowned, looked at Duan Lei for a while, and shouted, "Stop right there!"
Hearing this, Duan Lei looked around, and when he saw Duan Xue clearly, he said impatiently: "What are you doing?" This was too much of a coincidence, wasn't it? He was looking for clues about Li Town in the Internet cafe, and he met this woman?
He looked at the coffee shop and seemed to see a familiar figure, and suddenly understood.
"Come to Yang Wen's house with your parents next week," Duan Xue said, then she stopped a car, got in and left.
Duan Lei turned around and returned to the Internet cafe. He stood behind a relatively hidden window and looked at Duan Xue. He didn't find Li Zhen, whom Tian Yao wanted to find.
"Waste!" Duan Xue cursed. After that, she raised her hand and touched her belly, a smug smile on her face again: "Driver, go to Mary Maternal and Child Health Hospital!"
Duan Lei came out of the Internet cafe only after the taxi had driven away. He walked to the coffee shop and found that the seat where Tian Yao had sat before was empty.
"Where can I run to?" Duan Lei tilted his head and glanced in through the window again: "How am I going to explain this to her?"
"Huh? What do you want to tell me?" Tian Yao walked out of the coffee shop and heard Duan Lei talking to himself.
"Of course it's that person. I didn't find him." Duan Lei lowered his head embarrassedly. "I also promised you solemnly that I would be able to accomplish that thing!"
Hearing this, Tian Yao also remembered what Duan Lei said. Duan Lei was so smart but he couldn't find Li Zhen. Could it be that in this life, Duan Xue would have another master with dual superpowers by her side?
How did Duan Xue get to know Li Zhen?
Tian Yao was really puzzled!
"If they didn't find it, then they didn't find it. Maybe this is their fate," Tian Yao was very disappointed, but she comforted Duan Lei in return: "Some things can't be forced. Just try your best!"
"You're terrible at comforting people," Duan Lei glanced at Tian Yao with disdain. "I'm useless, and I'll do my best to make up for it. Finding excuses to cover up your own uselessness as comfort is really useless!"
"You know the trajectory of development. I have the ability. If you don't combine and utilize such excellent resources, wouldn't that be a waste?"
Feeling that the little brat was praising himself in disguise, Tian Yao glared at Duan Lei and immediately picked up the paper bag in her hand: "Your sister brought me some local specialties. Do you think I should eat them or not?"
"Of course I'm eating it," Duan Lei took the paper bag from Tian Yao. "You're so stupid! If she wanted to do something to you right now, she wouldn't give you this specialty in public!"
"Aren't you still in the same class at university?"
Tian Yao was stunned, then slapped her head. Why was she so worried that Duan Xue would murder her right now? If she had died early, how could she still have such "wonderful" memories with Duan Xue in the apocalypse?
"Go back and tell me everything you know in as much detail as possible," Duan Lei sighed inwardly. Tian Yao may have been reborn, but she was kind-hearted. Even if she took revenge on Duan Xue, it would only be a prank. "This way, I'll know how to guard against her."
He is the one who does the bad things, so Tian Yao should just stay silly!
