The next day.
As soon as Nan Haochen opened his eyes, he got up and made himself look incredibly handsome.
She even blew herself a kiss while looking in the mirror.
She took a bunch of fake flowers and went to Lily of the Valley's apartment.
Mozi watched Nan Haochen, who looked quite respectable, leave from the lobby on the first floor, and thought to himself, "This ancestor wasn't properly educated last night."
Bei Minghao, however, sensed the unease of gossip.
Looks like we're about to see something interesting.
When Nan Haochen arrived at Linglan's apartment door, he took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
Lily, who was reading with her younger sister inside, heard the knocking and, knowing who it was, immediately got up and closed the door.
"Good morning, dear Lanlan. These are flowers for you. They're not real, but they're a token of my affection. I hope you like them."
Linglan looked at the flowers in his hand, her eyes twitched slightly, and then she smiled and said, "Thank you for your kind gesture. I like it very much. Let's go inside and talk."
"OK."
Nan Haochen walked into the house and sat down wherever he could find a spot.
"Lanlan, I told my sister about us last night, but she said she wants to meet you. She also said if you pass her test, she'll arrange a wedding for us. Do you want to go?"
As Linglan listened to Nan Haochen's words, she already had a plan in mind. She figured they would have to meet sooner or later, so instead of hiding, she might as well confront him head-on. After all, she would only know the truth after talking to him.
Then, bowing his head, he replied, "I'm ready. When are we going?"
"Let's have lunch together at noon. I'll go back and prepare later."
"Okay, I'll listen to you."
Overwhelmed with emotion, Nan Haochen grabbed Linglan's hand and kissed it. "Lanlan, you're so wonderful. I'll definitely make my sister agree to marry you. Just be ready to be my bride."
Linglan nodded shyly, "I'll be there on time at noon."
"In that case, I'll go back and prepare first. Linghui, you can come along for lunch too!"
Linglan shook her head, thinking of Linghui's gossipy nature, and said, "Let's forget about her. Let's go another day. I'm afraid she might say something inappropriate then."
Nan Haochen thought about it and agreed, "Then I'll do as you say. I'll be going now."
After Linglan saw Nan Haochen off, Linghui came out of the bedroom and asked, "Sister, what do you mean? You're not taking me to lunch? Am I not your dear sister anymore?"
Linglan tapped her younger sister's head. "Do you think I didn't want to take you? It's your fault for always speaking without thinking, especially since it was my first time visiting. I was already overwhelmed dealing with my future sister-in-law, so I didn't have time to think about you. If you want to go, I'll take you next time. We don't know what will happen in today's tough battle."
The thought of having dinner with Madam Zhan sent a chill down Linghui's spine. She thought it was better not to go and that she should just stay home and read.
Seeing that her younger sister didn't speak, Linglan continued, "You shouldn't stay indoors all day. Our base is quite safe. Go out and see if there's any work you can do. Earning some points is better than living off our savings. We don't have many crystal cores left. If we don't have any other income, I'll have to take you out of the base to kill zombies and earn points."
Listening to her sister's words, Linghui thought it made sense, since they could only support themselves. She then sighed and said she understood.
Nan Haochen returned to his residence, but before he could even go upstairs, he was stopped by Bei Minghao.
"Young Master Nan, where have you been?"
When Nan Haochen saw his brother-in-law's people blocking his way, he felt a surge of anger, but fearing they would complain to his brother-in-law, he could only suppress his rage and say, "I'm going to find my wife, so what? You have a problem with that?"
"No, no, no, I have no objection. I just wanted to ask if you're feeling alright. There was such a commotion last night, I thought a pig had been slaughtered. I was planning to eat ribs this morning, but there's nothing here."
Nan Haochen knew he was being teased, so he said, "Want to eat ribs? That's easy. If I'm happy, I'll let my sister reward you with a whole pig to eat."
"Really? Then what will make you happy, Young Master Nan? Will you be happy if you marry a wife and have someone to warm your bed every day?"
"Hmph, you want a wife but you don't have one yet, you're just jealous."
Bei Minghao wasn't angry. They were used to being single. As the saying goes, if you eat vegetarian food all day, you don't know what meat tastes like. If you don't know, you won't think about it.
"Alright, I won't hold it against you, brother. I see you're so busy, so I won't bother you any longer. Goodbye."
Nan Haochen was completely baffled when the person left after saying a few words out of the blue.
Thinking about the lunch party, he immediately went upstairs to find his sister.
His sister had to arrange this.
Meanwhile, Nan Xiangwan was playing among the large flowers in the space.
Sitting on the head of the big flower and running through the forest made Nan Xiangwan feel incredibly happy, and she completely forgot about missing Zhan Siyu.
"Hahaha... Big Flower, you can stop now. I'll die laughing if you keep running. The leaves in this forest are making me so itchy."
"Waaah..." Yes, Master.
After Da Hua stopped, it put Nan Xiangwan on the ground and then rubbed its big head against Nan Xiangwan's little hand.
"Waaah..." When will Master take me out to play?
