Chapter 15: Practicing to the point of vomiting

Nan Xiangwan got up early that day to exercise. He checked the temperature and saw it was 65 degrees Celsius, which was a bit lower than the daily high. He secretly wanted to go out and take a look.

Walking onto her balcony and looking out, she discovered that there were scattered zombies wandering around the neighborhood, so she immediately woke up her younger brother.

"Haochen, hurry up, your sister will take you to fight zombies."

Nan Haochen, who was half asleep, disappeared instantly when he heard that they were going to fight zombies.

"Sis, there are zombies? Where?"

"It's right inside the neighborhood, but there aren't many, so it's a good opportunity for you to practice."

"Then, sister, don't you need to practice?"

"I'm not in a hurry. You go first and I'll keep an eye on you in case there's a sneak attack."

After listening to his sister's words, Nan Haochen agreed. After all, they were both beginners, so it was better to be careful. He didn't want to become a monster.

The brother and sister changed their clothes, had breakfast and went out.

The sun isn't very strong yet; it will be hottest around noon. So, while the temperature is still bearable, it's best to practice as much as possible.

Nan Xiangwan took out two machetes from her spatial storage, handed one to her younger brother, and said, "When you see a zombie, you have to be quick. It can only die if you cut off its head. Otherwise, you can't kill it. Also, be careful not to get scratched or bitten, or your sister will have to send you to meet the King of Hell."

"Pah, pah, pah, sister, can you say something auspicious? I don't want to have tea with the King of Hell. I'm fine as I am."

"Well, then you'd better keep it up."

"Don't worry, I'm not stupid and I won't embarrass you."

Haha, don't make such a big promise, or you might end up looking foolish, you know?

Nan Xiangwan led her younger brother to observe the situation outside before cautiously opening the gate to the courtyard.

"Let's go, there are two zombies ahead."

Nan Haochen asked in confusion, "How did you know?"

"Are you stupid? I sensed it with my mental power."

"Oh, I forgot that you have this function, sister. Now that we know where it is, what are we waiting for? Let's go."

The more excited Nan Haochen was, the more he regretted it when he saw the zombies.

Nan Xiangwan and her younger brother walked for a few minutes before they saw a zombie. It was the first time Nan Haochen had ever seen a real zombie in real life. He was initially quite excited, but when he saw the zombie's face, he was so scared that he almost peed his pants. He thought to himself, "What the hell is this?!" He suddenly wanted to go home. Was it too late?

“Sister, this? I can’t do it, wuwu…” It’s too scary! ! ! !

Nan Xiangwan sighed helplessly, having already guessed this outcome, since it had been the same in her previous life.

"They're coming, hurry up, they'll have to do it sooner or later. If you don't overcome this difficulty, don't go out with me anymore, just treat me like a pig being slaughtered."

"Waaah... I've never even slaughtered a pig before!"

"Then just treat it like killing a chicken. You've killed chickens before, right? Stop talking nonsense, damn it."

Nan Xiangwan had no choice; her younger brother couldn't bring himself to do it. The zombie was already right in front of her. She looked up and swiftly slashed twice, instantly decapitating the zombie.

"Ugh...ugh..." Why is my older sister so cruel? Is she returning that little lamb to its former self?

Seeing her younger brother vomiting so badly, Nan Xiangwan comforted him, saying, "Brother, this is just the beginning. You have to get used to it. Look, it's very simple. Anyway, you're not human anymore, so don't feel guilty."

"Ugh... Sis, that's not how you say it. Don't you find it disgusting?"

Um... she's used to it, but she can't say it.

"Maybe it's because I watch a lot of zombie movies..."

Why is there such a big difference? We both watched zombie movies. Wow...

"Okay, stop vomiting. You've already vomited up all your breakfast. What a waste of food. Come with me now. There's more over there. Didn't you promise to protect me? Is that it?"

Seeing his sister looking at him with suspicion, Nan Haochen immediately stopped vomiting, wiped his mouth, picked up the knife, and said domineeringly, "Let's go, I think I can do it again." It's just killing zombies, if his sister can do it, he definitely can too.

Then, Nan Xiangwan killed all the zombies that morning, and Nan Haochen vomited all morning, his face turning pale.

After returning home, Nan Xiangwan took a shower and changed her clothes. Then, looking at her poor younger brother, she asked helplessly, "Are you going to eat lunch?"

"No, I want to sleep. You eat." He was afraid he would throw up again after eating, so he decided to wait it out first. He wouldn't starve if he missed a meal.

Finally, Nan Xiang ate lunch by himself and then went for a nap.

However, they didn't expect that their neighbors had witnessed the entire process of killing zombies that morning.

Yes, the survivors were trembling at home, but they went out to practice on zombies. Are there really people as brave as them?

"Honey, those two are too powerful. Do you think we should go and ask them for shelter? We're running out of food, our parents are gone, and we don't know where our child is. The world has changed, and we don't know how much longer we can live."

The man, with his arm around his wife, looked out the window and said calmly, "Let's wait and see. The heat hasn't subsided yet. That girl next door looks like she knows martial arts; she's not someone to mess with. We shouldn't bother her unless absolutely necessary. I'm sure the army will come to rescue us soon."

"Sigh... I guess I'll hope so."

In another house, a dozen or so students, both male and female, were gathered. They were all newcomers and lived in empty houses. If they weren't afraid of the high temperatures to go out and find food, they would have starved to death long ago.

"He Ming, you saw those two people today, right? Killing zombies isn't that hard, just behead them."

"Yes, I see it, but do you have a knife?"

"Oh no, all I have is a fruit knife, what am I going to do? I've been out for so long and I can't get home. I'm going to go crazy if this keeps up."

"Let's see. If we hadn't gone on vacation, we wouldn't be stuck here. I should have known better than to go out. This damn weather, even zombies are out. It looks like the end of the world really is coming. We need to make plans. Next time we go out to find food, it won't be a problem of high temperatures, it will be a problem of zombies."

"Wow... I want to go home. I don't want to be eaten by zombies."

"Waaah... I want to go home too."

He Ming was getting annoyed seeing the girls crying all the time. It seemed he needed to make some plans soon, as these girls would definitely hold him back.

"Wang Lei, come with me later and take a look around. We'll also check if anyone's home is empty. We need to find some weapons, otherwise we'll all die when the zombies come."

"Yes, that's what I think too. We can't just sit here and wait to die, otherwise we'll only be waiting to die. At least if we fight, we might have a chance to survive."

"Yes, we'll go after sunset."

The other men looked at each other and agreed that He Ming's words made a lot of sense. If they just sat and waited to die, they would only be waiting to die. They didn't want to die, so they decided to go out together that night and see what was going on. Sticking together would help them survive.

If Nan Xiangwan saw He Ming right now, she would definitely recognize him. Wasn't he also a former friend? What a coincidence! The butterfly effect brought about by rebirth has indeed gone astray!
