Chapter 2 Visiting Space

"By the way, what do you have here, sister? Do you know?"

Nan Xiangwan had no idea what was in the space, since she had only just found out herself. She shook her head and said, "I don't know either. I just had a precognitive dream. Otherwise, how would I know there's a space in our family's ancestral jade pendant?" She should tell her brother that she was reborn; that would scare him to death.

"Oh, I see. So what should we do now? Should we go out or take a look around here first?"

"Let's take a look around first, see what's available, and then go out and organize the things we need to buy later."

"Okay, but sister, is the apocalypse really coming?" Nan Haochen asked uncertainly.

"Yes, there are still three months left, so we need to take action immediately."

"Does that mean we don't have to go to school anymore?"

Haha, this brat, he just doesn't like going to school. When he wants to go to school later, he won't have the chance.

"I'll ask for leave to suspend my studies when I go out in a bit. It's very easy to suspend your studies in university anyway."

"Then you won't be able to graduate with your master's degree either."

"Well, let's not talk about that now. Let's go see what's inside that house."

"Okay, let's go quickly then."

The brother and sister walked to the entrance of the courtyard, looked at the courtyard house in the courtyard, and wondered if it was a product of the 1960s.

Pushing open the wooden gate of the courtyard, you first open the door to the living room, where you are greeted by well-preserved golden nanmu furniture, which is very beautiful and not covered in dust.

In the main hall in the middle was a portrait of a woman. Nan Xiangwan looked about 50% like her and thought that this must be her ancestor. She immediately knelt down with her younger brother and kowtowed three times.

Suddenly a white light flashed before my eyes, and a phantom appeared.

"Are you descendants of the Nan family?"

Nan Haochen stared at the illusory figure in front of him, nearly scared to death, and whispered to his sister, "Is this a ghost?"

Nan Xiangwan quickly covered her younger brother's mouth and said apologetically to the illusory figure, "Ancestor, I'm sorry, my brother is a little silly. We are descendants of the Nan family. My name is Nan Xiangwan, and my brother's name is Nan Chen Haochen. Have we disturbed your cultivation?"

"Oh, so you really are a descendant of the Nan family. What era are we living in now?"

"Reporting to the Ancestor, it is now 2037."

"So much time has passed, little Nan family member. I am now just a phantom and will soon disappear. This spatial jade pendant only seeks out the destined members of the Nan family. The next room has a study, an armory, a herb room, and a bedroom. The land outside can be used for planting, the river can be used to raise fish, and the well water can cleanse the marrow and bones. Many of these were passed down from our ancestors, but the times were bad when they came to me, and many have been abandoned. From now on, you will be the master of this place."

Remember, cherish every moment, don't dwell too much on the past, live in the present...

Nan Xiangwan listened to the ancestor's words, and then watched the ancestor gradually disappear before her eyes. She respectfully kowtowed to show her respect for her ancestor.

Nan Haochen watched as the person who had suddenly appeared vanished, feeling his entire worldview shattered. With all this talk of space, the apocalypse, and talking souls, he was starting to wonder if they had already left Earth.

Nan Xiangwan got up and looked back at her younger brother, finding him seemingly stunned. She waved a finger in front of his eyes and asked, "Hey, are you stupid?"

"Sis, are we still on Earth?"

"Pfft..." Does this kid think they've traveled through time? He's really been poisoned by novels.

"Good brother, we're still on Earth. Don't think about things that don't exist. Our ancestor said there's a study here. Let's see if there are any martial arts manuals."

You've been quite influenced by novels too, so let's not talk about who's older and who's younger.

When Nan Xiangwan opened the door to the study, she was greeted by rows of bookshelves filled with books.

I picked up a book at random, and the words "Poison Classic" appeared before my eyes. When I opened it, I saw that it was all in traditional Chinese characters. If I hadn't majored in archaeology and literature, I probably wouldn't have been able to recognize these characters.

Then I took out another book, "The Art of Acupuncture," thinking to myself, "Is this all medical knowledge?"

Nan Xiangwan refused to believe it and flipped through several books before finally finding one about ancient martial arts cultivation.

"Little brother, come quick, we found it! But is this ancient martial art the kind of internal energy cultivation from ancient times?"

Nan Haochen didn't know either, but it should be similar to what's shown on TV.

"Sis, we'll find out if we practice."

"Oh right, but I can't today. I have things to do, and I haven't asked the school for leave yet."

"Damn, sister, did you skip Abbess Miejue's class today?"

"Why didn't you say so sooner? But 'I'm skipping class anyway,' I wouldn't be in the mood to listen anyway."

"Sis, I've noticed you've gotten a bit cocky. If it were before, you would definitely go to class without even washing your face."

Hearing her younger brother's teasing, Nan Xiangwan slapped a book on his forehead. "When have I ever gone out without washing my face? How dare you insult your older sister like that? Are you asking for a beating?"

"Ouch, sis, that hurts! Are you trying to kill me?"

"Serves you right. Get out now, come back in tonight."

"All right."

Nan Xiangwan grabbed her younger brother's arm, and with a thought, the two of them left the space.

She and her younger brother were orphans; their parents died early, leaving behind a substantial inheritance. The two siblings depended on each other for survival, and just when things seemed to be looking up, the apocalypse struck.

"Brother, let's calculate how much we have in total. Apart from the villa we live in now, let's convert everything else into cash and then buy supplies."

"Sister, there are so many! Just the property deeds for the safes alone are a whole stack, and it might not be possible to sell them all in three months."

"If we sell it at 80% of the market price, someone will always buy it."

"Wouldn't that be a huge loss of money?"

"That's still better than leaving the house to gather dust after the apocalypse. Besides, many goods will stop being produced after the apocalypse, and even food won't grow anymore. If you don't buy more supplies, do you want to starve?"

"Alright then, we have 1.28 billion in savings, that's all. It's all here. But we still have a lot of jewelry, should we sell it too?"

“Sell them all, turn them into cash, and when social order collapses, I’ll take you to a zero-yuan shopping event. At that time, nobody will want these things.”

Upon hearing this, Nan Haochen's eyes lit up. If no one wanted them, he could just pick them up whenever he wanted. Just thinking about it made him feel great.

"Then let's listen to your sister and sell it."

"What are you doing, you little rascal, acting like an idiot..."

"Sister, it's your Abbess Miejue's phone call."

"I know, but I won't answer for now. They'll never say anything nice to me. I'd better just let my ears have some peace and quiet." Anyway, I'm not going there anymore, so whatever.

"Do whatever you want, I don't have classes in the morning anyway, and the teacher won't be nagging me." Then he lay down on the bed and just let it go. He wanted to enjoy the remaining good times before the apocalypse came, because he probably wouldn't have the chance to enjoy them later. The apocalypse would probably be like in the movies.
