Nan Xiangwan joked with Nan Haochen a few more times, and then the group split up to make preparations.
Nan Haochen was in charge of preparing the incubator for the food, while Zhan Siyu went back to his space to get some ingredients and pick some fruit. Nan Xiangwan and Ouyang Qian went back to the kitchen to prepare some food for the picnic.
"Sister, were strawberries really ever grown in the ground in that space?" Ouyang Qian asked.
Nan Xiangwan nodded; he had no reason to lie to Ouyang Qian about something like this.
"Silly girl, you'll find out soon enough whether or not strawberries were planted. Your brother-in-law has already gone back to his space to get some things, and he'll pick the fruit soon!"
"Moreover, everyone in Happiness Community wants to grow some fruit trees, and we currently have plenty of fruit trees in our space!"
"If you want to eat anything, you can ask your brother-in-law to pick some out for you!"
While Nan Xiangwan was busy preparing the ingredients, she told Ouyang Qian about the situation inside the space.
Ouyang Qian was surprised. If it really could be done, it would be a huge surprise for them.
"This is wonderful! I haven't had fruit in ages!"
Ouyang Qian was so moved that she almost cried. She thought about how they had just escaped the apocalypse a year ago, and now they were so happy. It really felt like a dream.
"Sister, do you think I'm dreaming?" Ouyang Qian said.
Nan Xiangwan said with a smile, "I think so. Why don't you pinch yourself? You'll know if it hurts or not."
Ouyang was surprised to find that Nan Xiangwan was joking with him, and he laughed along with her.
"My sister still loves to joke around!"
"But joking is good! Being able to joke means our lives have settled down, and there's so much hope right in front of us. Sister, it really feels like we're living in a dream!"
As Ouyang Qian prepared the ingredients, she reflected on the recent changes in her life.
Nan Xiangwan didn't stop him from indulging in his fantasies, but instead smiled silently.
He actually understood Ouyang Qian's current thoughts very well, and for them, this was indeed the life they wanted most right now.
"Alright, didn't you say you wanted to eat seaweed rice rolls? Do you want them with pork floss or ham?" Nan Xiangwan asked.

Nan Xiangwan thought for a moment, then shook his head.
"We still have some nori and seaweed here, why don't we make them into rice balls?"
"Besides, we have some extra side dishes on hand, so we'll pack them all up and bring them to Ander when we get back from the Rose Garden!" Nan Xiangwan said.
Ander has become completely friends with them, but since he lives far away, he is rarely seen unless Nan Xiangwan has something to do at the warehouse.

Ouyang Qian nodded. They would definitely have many more opportunities later, so there was no need to worry about this matter.
Just after they had finished making most of the physical prototypes, Nan Haochen finally arrived late with a small incubator.
"Sister, I brought the incubator!" Nan Haochen pushed the door open.
"You little brat, trying to show off, huh? What time is it now? Our rice balls are already made. We were thinking of asking you to come and help, but it took you so long. What have you been doing?"
Nan Xiangwan's words completely stunned Nan Haochen, leaving him speechless.
"Sis, you can't wrong me! I was already going really fast. I just ran into Pei Jun on the way. I don't know why, but he seemed to be observing something at the entrance of our neighborhood!"
"Then I went over and chatted with him for a bit, that's why it took so long!"
Nan Haochen explained that he had actually received the incubator about twenty minutes ago, and it hadn't even taken him two minutes to get here.
