Chapter 16 Watching a Play Late at Night

The brother and sister slept until dark.

Since the end of the world, their lives have become chaotic. When they have nothing to do, they spend most of their time sleeping.

Since there were no entertainment programs, besides practicing martial arts and eating, all that was left to pass the time was sleeping and reading.

Finally, there was a new entertainment program where we could fight zombies, but after just one morning, my younger brother almost vomited and passed out.

After waking up in the evening, Nan Xiang stretched and looked out the window. There wasn't a single star in sight; everything was shrouded in mist, and he couldn't see anything.

After washing my face and waking up, I glanced at my younger brother and found him still asleep, so I didn't wake him. I ate my dinner and drank my beer by myself.

It's no wonder that Nan Xiangwan's alcohol tolerance has been increasing over the past six months. He used to be able to get drunk after just one bottle, but now he can drink several bottles.

Of course, my appetite has also increased, especially after activating my special ability, which makes me consume food even faster.

If they didn’t have enough food in stock, they wouldn’t dare to eat as much as they wanted because they really couldn’t afford it.

After a hearty meal, Nan Xiangwan, feeling bored, locked his front door and went out. Since he couldn't sleep anyway, he figured he might as well go out and observe the surrounding area.

She was wearing a black bodysuit that covered all her exposed skin. Although it was a bit hot, she felt unsafe with the virus everywhere at the time, and her skin was exposed.

At the same time that Nan Xiang came out, He Ming from another villa also came out with several boys.

In the pitch-black night, when you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, several boys huddled together and walked cautiously.

"He Ming, it's too dark today. We only have one flashlight, and we're afraid to use it. Let's talk about it tomorrow morning. If a zombie suddenly jumps out, it'll scare us to death."

"Shut up, are you trying to attract zombies? The kitchen knives we have aren't just for show; we'll kill them when we see them."

"Brother, do you dare to do it?"

Shh, don't speak, there's a sound.

The boys immediately tensed up, their eyes constantly scanning their surroundings.

Nan Xiangwan originally just wanted to take a stroll, but she didn't expect that there were other people who dared to come out in the middle of the night. She really didn't know if they were looking for death or not?

"He Ming, are there zombies?"

"How would I know? There's just a sound. It's best to be careful."

"Oh, I thought there were zombies, I was so scared."

Nan Xiangwan looked at these people and felt like laughing. She really felt like a thief.

Thinking that I had nothing else to do, I decided to see what these people were up to, so I took out a lollipop, put it in my mouth, and started watching the show.

He Ming took the lead and groped his way forward until he entered a house that seemed uninhabited during the day. He opened the door without much effort.

However, he was quite cunning. He didn't go in first, but instead shone his flashlight inside, letting the others go in first, while he called it "the last one to go in."

Although no one lives here anymore, there's no guarantee that this family might have turned into zombies. If you accidentally get bitten, you're doomed.

As for the others, He Ming didn't have as much thought as they thought. Except for the man holding a kitchen knife, everyone else was holding a stick and moving forward side by side.

Nan Xiangwan used her mental power to detect the yard and found that there were indeed four zombies in the house, and they were all a family. It was probably because the door was closed tightly before the accident, so they were all trapped inside.

"Tsk tsk, I wonder if these guys can handle the zombies inside. They're really brave." Nan Xiangwan muttered to herself. The people over there had already broken the glass outside.

"He Ming, there's no one here. Do you want to go in?"

"Observe first. If no one comes out after a while, then we'll go in."

"good."

Nan Xiangwan heard the voice and it sounded familiar, but he just couldn't remember it. It was too dark, and he couldn't see what it looked like.

Until the zombies came out.

"Ah!!! There are zombies, He Ming, what do we do?"

"What do we do? Of course we kill them! With so many of us, surely we can kill these two zombies?"

“It’s not just two, there are two more little ones behind them. This should be a family of four. He Ming, let’s run, or we’ll all be doomed if they come out.”

"Ah! Don't come any closer!"

"Help!!!!"

He Ming didn't care about anything else, picked up the kitchen knife and chopped at the head, and the head fell to the ground with a thud.

Seeing that He Ming had killed one so easily, the others also began to fight back.

The remaining three zombies were quickly killed, but one boy was scratched, and no one noticed.

However, Nan Xiangwan, who was just watching the whole thing, saw it.

They should be thankful, since the first batch of zombies reacted very slowly. If they had waited until they mutated, they would have been really done for. They were all obviously novices with no martial arts skills at all.

After catching their breath, He Ming and the others began to search for things, trying to bring back as much food as possible, and also to find some weapons.

It wasn't until the boy who had just been captured began to mutate that Nan Xiangwan couldn't help but warn him, "Be careful, someone is about to turn into a zombie."

"Who? Who's talking?"

"Don't worry about who I am. Some of you got scratched while killing zombies, so this zombie is about to be freshly made. If it weren't for how stupid you are, I really wouldn't want to remind you."

Upon hearing this, He Ming and the others immediately looked at each other and said, "Who among you was scratched just now? Quickly move to the side."

The boy who had been scratched was now delirious and stood there motionless.

"Hey, all of you stand far away. This zombie is about to evolve. Be careful, otherwise you won't be able to escape." Nan Xiangwan kindly reminded again.

Upon hearing Nan Xiangwan's words, He Ming and the others immediately separated and stood apart, carefully observing each other.

It wasn't until the zombie started howling that they realized it was their classmate Wang Yang. He Ming shouted urgently, "Quick, kill him! He's not human anymore!"

"Waaah... He Ming, we can't do it, he's a classmate."

"Bullshit, there are zombies now. If you don't dare, I'll do it. I don't want to die. I still want to go home to see my parents."

In the blink of an eye, He Ming took the lead and swung the kitchen knife at the enemy.

Nan Xiangwan sat on the wall watching with great interest until He Ming killed the zombie. Then she continued, "I advise you guys not to come out at night anymore. You bunch of weaklings are just asking for trouble. I'll take this as an act of kindness and clear out all the zombies outside for you. But I can't guarantee there won't be any more zombies in other places after a while. So, take your things and go back quickly. Bye."

Upon hearing this, He Ming and his group forgot their fear and immediately searched for their belongings to return home. They didn't want to stay a moment longer. Who would have thought that in just one night, one of their classmates would die? If things continued like this, they would really be driven crazy.

Nan Xiangwan, on the other hand, went home in a good mood, coming and going as she pleased.
