Chapter 5 Two Little Hamsters, Hoarding Supplies

After being disturbed from her sleep by a phone call from her enemy early in the morning, Nan Xiangwan got up to wash her face and brush her teeth, then ordered some breakfast on a food delivery platform and started exercising.

Before her parents passed away, they enrolled her and her younger brother in Sanda and Taekwondo classes. At that time, her father said that their family was too rich and they were easily targeted. Only by having martial arts skills could they better protect themselves.

That's why she and her brother were able to survive for so many years in the apocalypse. Especially after awakening their superpowers, they became the ace of the team. Otherwise, why would they attract so much envy and jealousy?

So sometimes, it's best to keep a low profile, especially in this life. She's already decided that she'll play dumb and live a peaceful, uneventful life. As for the zombies, let others deal with them. She'll never show off again.

After figuring everything out, the food delivery arrived.

"Haochen, get up, breakfast is here, hurry up."

"Sis, I'm going to sleep a little longer."

"We don't need to sleep much while we're alive, we'll sleep forever after we die. We still have very important things to do, so let's hurry."

Nan Haochen instantly sobered up upon hearing his sister's words, thinking to himself, "What an idiot! The apocalypse is coming, what the hell am I supposed to sleep for? I still need to stockpile supplies! Damn it!"

Then I immediately got up, washed up, changed my clothes, and went downstairs to have dinner.

"Sister, where are we going today?"

"At the farmers' market, buy grain first; food is the most important thing."

"Yes, that's true. Luckily we have space at home, otherwise we wouldn't know where to store all that goods we bought."

"So get moving right now! Start getting up early tomorrow and work out with me. Don't wait until the apocalypse and zombies are chasing you, or you won't even be able to outrun them."

Nan Haochen instantly imagined a horde of zombies behind him, the despair of not being able to shake them off no matter how hard he ran. He immediately said, "Listen to your sister, I'll definitely work out hard." He was determined not to let the zombies catch him and make him their food.

How could such a cute and handsome boy turn into a zombie, right?

After having breakfast, the siblings drove to the largest farmers' market in Haishi.

When they arrived at the place selling grains and oils, they went straight to the owner and told him that they wanted to open a large supermarket and needed to purchase a batch of goods.

"Girl, you're opening a large supermarket, what kind of goods are you planning to stock? Our store has the most complete selection, and if you need a lot, I can give you a discount."

"Uncle, we need a lot, and we just need your help to deliver it to the warehouse. Would that be convenient for you?"

"Of course, we offer free delivery for wholesale orders."

"That's great. Now I'll tell you what kind of grain I need, and you can write down the order."

"Okay."

"Give me fifty tons of each of your rice and flour."

"What? Girl, are you sure you want this much?"

"Yes, there are also ten tons each of cornmeal, buckwheat flour, glutinous rice, purple rice, black rice, millet, sorghum rice, quinoa, Job's tears, red beans, adzuki beans, black beans, organic soybeans, mung beans, and white lentils."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I can pay first. Just deliver the goods to me. Of course, give me ten tons of all kinds of vermicelli as well."

"Okay, okay, I'll go prepare the goods for you right now."

"Hmm, Alipay or WeChat? I'll give you the money first, then just deliver it to the warehouse location I left. Of course, call me before you deliver it, and I'll come to pick up and inspect the goods."

"Okay, I'll do as you say."

After the boss calculated all the bills, he rounded down the amount to 3.2 million.

After settling the bill in the evening, Nan Xiang took the receipt and went to the next store.

The siblings then went to the place where oil was sold, and went straight in after seeing the largest shop.

"Boss, I want to buy some goods wholesale."

"Young friends, how much do you need? Our store has the most complete selection of oils."

"I need more, give me a discount."

"Sure, it depends on how much you want."

"We need 1,000 barrels of each of the following brands: rapeseed oil, peanut oil, salad oil, olive oil, walnut oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil, and sesame oil."

After hearing this, the boss asked uncertainly, "Do you really want this much?"

"Yes, we're opening a chain of supermarkets and will be having a grand opening event, so we need to stock up on more goods."

"Okay, then I'll give you the lowest price."

"Thank you, boss. Here's the warehouse address. I'll pay you first, and then we can deliver it directly there, right?"

"No problem, I guarantee it will be delivered to the destination in perfect condition." Just kidding, this is a huge order with substantial profits. If I don't make it a good deal, they might never come back, and that would be a huge loss.

However, Nan Xiangwan and her brother didn't care what they thought; they just wanted to find more stores to buy from. This was far from enough, so it seemed they would have to go on a trip to another city.

Then they bought 1,000 barrels of lard, mutton fat, and beef tallow, as well as 1,000 boxes each of frying oil and shortening for fried chicken.

Then the two headed straight for the condiment section.

The condiment section has even more products.

She bought 100,000 jin of iodized salt in small bags, and also bought 100,000 jin of sea salt.

Although she ordered quite a lot, she only cared about paying; she didn't have to worry about how the merchant would arrange and distribute the goods.

Then they went to the candy shop.

They bought 100,000 jin each of white sugar, rock sugar, and brown sugar.

Then, 20,000 bottles each of soy sauce, vinegar, oyster sauce, light soy sauce, fish sauce, cooking wine, dark soy sauce, and dipping sauce.

Nan Xiangwan took her younger brother to buy pickled garlic, red Sichuan peppercorns, green Sichuan peppercorns, dried chili peppers, small red chili peppers, bell peppers, Hangzhou chili peppers, black pepper, star anise, cinnamon, bay leaves, cumin, fennel seeds, thirteen-spice powder, cardamom, scallions, ginger, and garlic, 10,000 boxes of each.

Thinking that once I bought all the seasonings, I wouldn't have to worry about the food being bland, Nan Xiangwan had had enough of tasteless food after ten years of living in the apocalypse.

Then I went to the sauce section and bought 10,000 boxes of each of the following: Pixian Doubanjiang (Sichuan chili bean paste), Hunan chopped chili sauce, sweet bean sauce, garlic chili sauce, barbecue sauce, beef sauce, tomato sauce, curry sauce, peanut sauce, mushroom sauce, chive blossom sauce, fermented bean curd, sesame paste, Lao Gan Ma chili sauce, and Fuling pickled mustard tuber.

Ten thousand boxes each of spicy hot pot base, clear broth hot pot base, tomato hot pot base, mushroom hot pot base, braised hot pot dipping sauce, and canned beef.

After buying a lot of goods in the morning, the siblings were exhausted, their mouths were dry, and their heels were blistered.

"Sister, dear sister, I'm starving! Can we go eat now?"

"My sister is hungry too. Let's go eat roast duck. I want some."

"Okay." As long as we can fill our stomachs, you can eat whatever you want.

Then Nan Xiangwan drove his younger brother to an authentic roast duck restaurant in the city center. The two of them had a hearty meal and, before leaving, ordered 500 ducks, saying they were to be given as employee benefits. They said they would just vacuum-pack them and send them to the warehouse.

The two had planned to buy other things in the afternoon, but it was their first time shopping like this and they were both exhausted. So they went home to sleep, thinking that a little more time wouldn't matter, they were just too tired.
