Chapter 33 One Night Bride

"Is this a superpower? That's what they call it in novels," someone in the group commented.

"Yes, I feel the same way!"

"Hahahaha. I never thought I'd become a superhuman one day. I guess I'm a wood-type superhuman, right?" The neighbor who just posted the video laughed wildly in the group chat.

Someone tagged Jiang Qingwan, "So, are you a fire-type ability user? Make a video to show us."

"Okay." Jiang Qingwan prepared to show off her skills to have a deterrent effect.

Jiang Qingwan held her phone and opened the camera to take a picture.

With a snap of her fingers, a cluster of golden-red flames shot up, clearly more powerful than a small green seedling from a wood-type ability user.

Send video.

"Wow. You're really amazing. New neighbor, you're a genius. Please help me out." The sensible neighbor had already begun to see through Jiang Qingwan's hidden strength.

"No, no, I'm so scared I'm staying home and I don't dare go out. Thank goodness our community property management helped us buy a lot of things beforehand," Jiang Qingwan quickly refused.

To show his weakness and helplessness, he posted an emoticon: "I'll cry if I see zombies. QAQ."

"Wow, look at the videos you guys posted. I feel like I have some primal energy inside me that I can't contain. Look at this!"

A video was sent to the group chat.

The background is a luxuriously decorated living room, with a large pile of dirt scattered on a lavish plush carpet.

"You must have earth-based superpowers!" a seasoned novel reader asserted.

"I don't know, I guess so. But it seems pretty useless. Even a sandstorm is more powerful than me," the earth-type ability user said regretfully.

"Cultivation should be enough. Let's wait for other information."

"Everyone, take a look at what superpowers they have. If we stick together, our chances of survival will be much higher!" a group member excitedly reminded the others.

"How did you guys manage to use your superpowers? I didn't feel anything." Someone tagged Jiang Qingwan, the wood-type, and earth-type superpower users in the group chat.

"I don't know, I just thought about it for a bit. I hadn't even figured out what kind of ability it would be, and the ability just popped into my head." The wood-type ability user replied quickly, but there was no useful information.

"Don't we have something in common? We both have persistent high fevers, but we're still very energetic?" The earth-type ability user's mind worked quickly.

“Yes. I felt like I was about to die from a fever at home. Didn’t you guys notice that I stopped participating in the shopping group chat after that?” Jiang Qingwan hinted.

Attentive group members immediately checked the records in the neighboring property management service group and found that Jiang Qingwan really only made the purchase once.

"Sigh. That's a pity. I don't think I have any special abilities," some of the group members who didn't have a fever said dejectedly.

Only three ability users—Jiang Qingwan, Wood-type, and Earth-type—have shown up in the group. It's unclear whether these are the only three or if someone else is hiding.

However, Jiang Qingwan was not afraid, as her current strength was equivalent to that of a third-tier superhuman.

With everyone outside possessing level 0 strength, this was akin to a dimensional reduction attack.

"Beep beep beep—" The horn blared, breaking the tranquility of the neighborhood.

A large black pickup truck drove recklessly, ignoring the barriers, and crashed straight into the residential area. It smashed the guardrail into several pieces, which scattered in the air and rolled on the ground with a thud.

The car door opened, and a man with a buzz cut jumped out of the car in a sleazy manner.

Jiang Qingwan's first impression was that the other party had ill intentions.

Behind the car followed several scattered zombies, walking unsteadily like roly-poly toys.

The zombie made a hoarse, guttural sound as it approached the crew-cut man step by step.

More members jumped out of the car, armed with knives, guns, and clubs, and immediately shot the zombie in the head, knocking it to the ground.

The members who came out of the car later, led by the man with the buzz cut, stood to the side, forming a circle around the moon.

The crew-cut man casually pointed, and a ball of flame shot out, beginning to burn the zombies.

"See that? That's my power," the crew-cut man shouted, looking up.

The residents of the community remained silent in tacit agreement.

The crew-cut man, having failed to show off, continued shouting in exasperation: "That's why I want to be the leader of this neighborhood! Give me a house right now so I can protect you all."

Jiang Qingwan always watched the play with the curtains drawn.

The blurry glass couldn't hide Jiang Qingwan's stunning beauty.

The crew-cut man below noticed.

He then shouted, "I'm still missing a wife. Since I'm so powerful and handsome, why don't I move into your house? You'd be honored."

Jiang Qingwan rolled her eyes. "All sorts of cats and dogs are trying to scam me."

It felt like a dog was using its feces-eaten mouth to lick her shoes clean when she had her shoes shined.

"No mirror and you still haven't peed? I'll get your little brother to wake you up." Jiang Qingwan pushed open the window that had been closed for a long time and shoved it down.

"You wait—" The crew-cut man was humiliated in front of a beautiful woman, his fragile heart shattered.

"I'm only being nice to you because you're a beauty. You have no idea how many beautiful women I, Zhang Qiang, have rejected these past few days who were practically throwing themselves at me. Don't you appreciate it?" The crew-cut man excitedly introduced himself as Zhang Qiang.

"Look at your face, which looks like a lump of coal, and your short, square body. Do you think any beautiful woman would be interested in you? Don't brag." Jiang Qingwan waved her hand dismissively.

The people next to Zhang Qiang, presumably his subordinates, were almost unable to hold back, their shoulders trembling slightly.

Zhang Qiang glared at him.

Those around him immediately straightened their backs, their faces serious, and chimed in, "Our boss never boasts. His charm is unmatched; not only beautiful women, but even handsome men want him—"

"Stop it." Another henchman patted the unrestrained flatterer on the shoulder. Was this guy out of his mind? Why did he say everything?

When Zhang Qiang gets angry, he'll be in for a world of hurt.

"Beautiful lady, I really need a wife. You're my first wife. I've taken a liking to you, so just say yes." Zhang Qiang shamelessly emphasized that he needed a wife.

"Didn't you tell me to wait? Why are you chickening out again?" Jiang Qingwan added fuel to the fire.

"You—you little slut, everyone said they'd only do this because you're a beauty."

"Today, whether you want it or not, you're going to be my bride for one night!" Zhang Qiang uttered vulgar words from his blackened lips, making lewd remarks in front of a group of people.

Jiang Qingwan was disgusted to the point of being unable to stand it.

Sure enough, just a few days later, some idiots showed their disgusting true colors.

"Oh my, what a big breath. It's stinking me up." Jiang Qingwan fanned herself with her hand, trying to drive away this disgusting idiot.

“If you’re so capable, come in and find me. I’m not opening the door,” Jiang Qingwan continued.

Jiang Qingwan's slightly older neighbor broke her silence and poked her head out of another window.

He looked at Jiang Qingwan and advised, "Sister, listen to your uncle. Why don't you apologize? These people don't look like they're easy to mess with."

"It's alright. He can't get in," Jiang Qingwan replied politely.

Zhang Qiang's temper flared as Jiang Qingwan repeatedly humiliated him.

"Who says I can't get in?"
