Chapter 39 Speed-Type Zombies

A dark figure darted out from the stairwell.

The dark figure sped off at breakneck speed, charging recklessly and knocking over several shelves.

The shelves fell over, forming a roadblock, but the dark figure remained completely unaffected.

“It’s a speed-type zombie.” Jiang Qingwan’s cultivation was quite advanced; in her eyes, a speed-type zombie was actually slowed down by one yard.

Gu Ningyue covered her mouth, her pupils dilated, and her eyes widened, trying to keep herself from making a sound.

It's unclear whether the zombie was a black person in its previous life, but it directly attacked Jiang Qingwan, who was the strongest among them.

The zombie had a hideous face, claw-like hands, and was as thin as a rake, ready to rip out the heart.

Their actions were swift as the wind.

Jiang Qingwan reacted even faster, releasing a fireball.

The golden-red fireball dodged all flammable materials in the air, tracking the dark figure as if it had its own consciousness.

A clash of red and black.

The red flames directly burned the black zombies.

It happened in the blink of an eye.

The duel between masters is often unpredictable.

The people on the first floor finally arrived late. The black-haired, curly-haired youth said breathlessly, "We don't know where these zombies came from. Be careful, we can't beat them or stop them."

"The battle is over." Jiang Qingwan pointed to a pile of ash on the floor.

"Was that a zombie that just came up from the first floor?" the black-haired youth asked incredulously.

“Yes, I’m a fire-type ability user, so I burned it.” Jiang Qingwan brushed her hair aside, the strands tracing a soft arc in the air, her tone equally gentle.

"Oh my god. I was so worried about you guys." The black-haired, curly-haired youth clutched his chest and breathed a sigh of relief.

The corner shelf seemed to move slightly, and everyone held their breath.

A person emerged from under the shelf, grinning and rubbing his shoulder, saying, "Ouch, that zombie hit me pretty hard. I didn't see anything, just heard a thud, and then I got hit."

"You really startled me. I thought there was a second zombie," the curly-haired youth said, looking at the unlucky guy who had been hit.

"That's it. There should only be one left." Jiang Qingwan silently scanned the large shopping mall with her divine sense to confirm that no one had slipped through the net.

"Oh right, right. Boss! What's your name? I'm Chen Xiaoran, a tenant in Building 2, a wind-type ability user." The black-haired curly-haired man came back to his senses when he heard Jiang Qingwan's voice.

“I’m Jiang Qingwan. Let’s continue collecting supplies first, and we’ll talk again in two hours. There’s still some time. If you trust me, collect as much as you can now; there are no more zombies in this building,” Jiang Qingwan generously suggested.

Whether you believe it or not is up to you.

"Then, can I collect supplies with you?" Chen Xiaoran asked expectantly, rubbing her hands together.

Jiang Qingwan refused without hesitation, making her stance clear: "No. I need to collect supplies with Gu Ningyue, and we don't even know each other."

Upon hearing this, Gu Ningyue immediately took Jiang Qingwan's arm, revealing a bright smile as if asserting her ownership over the other two.

"Hey bro, wanna go together?" the unlucky guy who got hit by the shelving said weakly.

"You can't either." Jiang Qingwan said for the second time.

"Then I'll secretly follow you?" Chen Xiaoran asked, unwilling to give up.

“I already said there are no zombies, really none. You can search the second floor. I’ll go to the third floor; no one should be there yet.” Jiang Qingwan generously offered them the map of the second-floor mall, which was already lit up.

The two looked at each other, but ultimately did not continue the conversation.

The three-story building presents unknown risks, and even if Jiang Qingwan extends an invitation, it requires careful consideration.

"Thank you so much, boss. We'll gather supplies on the second floor. You can leave this shopping cart here for now, and we'll push it down for you later. We definitely won't hogging it," Chen Xiaoran said shrewdly, looking at the shopping cart in Jiang Qingwan's hand, and patted her chest to show her loyalty.

"Okay, then I'll leave it here. I'll come down and get it later," Jiang Qingwan readily agreed.

Gu Ningyue, who was standing next to Jiang Qingwan, hesitated before tugging at her sleeve.

Jiang Qingwan gave Gu Ningyue a reassuring look.

Through the box, Jiang Qingwan had already transferred the supplies inside into her spatial storage.

The shopping cart is full of empty shells that are all show and no substance.

Perfect, this is a good opportunity to test the character of these two people.

Jiang Qingwan let go of the shopping cart handle, grabbed Gu Ningyue, and quickly walked towards the stairwell.

He paused briefly at the top of the stairs to give Gu Ningyue time to prepare herself, and said softly, "Let's go upstairs."

Gu Ningyue took a deep breath, tightly gripping Jiang Qingwan's hand, her skin slightly sweating in the cold weather.

Gu Ningyue quickly composed herself and said firmly, "Okay."

Jiang Qingwan took the lead.

The lighting system on the third floor of the shopping mall is out of service.

Jiang Qingwan took out two flashlights and handed one to Gu Ningyue.

Two beams of intense light appeared in the dim space, white light either in two directions or crossing, like fireflies chasing each other.

There was no one else on the third floor except Gu Ningyue.

Jiang Qingwan no longer chose to act; instead, she used her mind to store all the supplies into her spatial storage.

Gu Ningyue followed the direction of the flashlight and saw the supplies that had vanished into thin air, which she was already used to.

Thinking to myself: This is a complete win without lifting a finger. The resource allocation ratio we agreed on before was already a bit too high. Let's discuss it again later.

"Hello—is there something wrong? Do you need any help?" Chen Xiaoran's voice came from the hallway, carefully trying not to disturb anything else.

"It's nothing. There's just not much left on this floor," Jiang Qingwan replied, holding two boxes of snail rice noodles.

The packaging box says: Delicious! This is exactly the smell!

Jiang Qingwan also wanted to give Gu Ningyue a box.
