Chapter 58 Phoenix Mountain

"Let's not talk about them anymore, everyone has their own fate." Jiang Qingwan took out the task paper.

Gu Ningyue leaned closer to look together.

Rescue mission: Rescue researchers from an abandoned cave.

Researchers, pursued by a horde of zombies, sought refuge in an abandoned cave. An earth-elemental ability user sealed the entrance, but a landslide later caused a massive rockfall into the cave. The signal was lost, and contact was severed.

Flying Squad: Upon entering the mountains, they were again pursued by a horde of zombies, and the pursuit was confined to Phoenix Mountain. After escaping the mountain area, the zombies ceased their chase. It seemed the zombies were protecting something…

Hint: We know of a Tier 3 wood-type zombie and several zombie minions with different attributes. We cannot rule out the possibility of even more powerful zombies.

"Tier 3? The highest level ability user in the base is only Tier 3, no wonder this mission has been upgraded to SS level." Gu Ningyue was extremely shocked.

“Yes. Zombies evolve so fast. Those who know about them are already at level three, there must be many more level three zombies outside that we don’t know about.” Jiang Qingwan neatly folded the paper and stuffed it into her pocket.

"I feel a little regretful." Jiang Qingwan propped her head up with her hand, staring at the living room chandelier.

"Do you regret accepting the mission? I also think this mission is a bit too difficult. Maybe we should back out?" Gu Ningyue was having second thoughts; she was only at the peak of the second tier.

"No, I regret that the reward is too small. No wonder they wouldn't let me see the specific mission details before I accepted it." Jiang Qingwan suppressed her dissatisfaction.

"Then let's go find them to add some points?" Gu Ningyue suggested.

"Definitely." Jiang Qingwan didn't hesitate and immediately returned to the mission hall.

After repeated negotiations between Jiang Qingwan and the base officials, the base agreed to add another 5,000 transparent crystal cores.

After Jiang Qingwan settled the payment, she glanced at Gu Ningyue.

"Peak of Tier 2? You should be Tier 3 by now! I'm going to give you hellish training." Jiang Qingwan grabbed Gu Ningyue, who was munching on potato chips.

“Come on. Let me show you my skills.” Gu Ningyue put down the potato chips without hesitation.

Metal spikes pierced Jiang Qingwan in a dense array.

The flames melted completely.

"You're cheating. You've melted my superpower, what's the point of me fighting you?" Gu Ningyue felt great watching Jiang Qingwan beat up others, but when her own superpower was damaged, she felt truly frustrated.

"Hahaha. I'm just teasing you." Jiang Qingwan led Gu Ningyue into the space.

There was a pile of rubble in front of us.

“We’re leaving tomorrow, there’s not enough time. You can practice your abilities here.” Jiang Qingwan pointed to the jumbled rocks in front of her.

This is a useless, discarded stone in the Space Sword Tomb, shapeless but incredibly hard.

Jiang Qingwan specially transported it from the Sword Tomb and specially built a pile of rubble.

"Your metal-based abilities shattered them; you're definitely at least level three." Jiang Qingwan conjured a rattan chair and lay down on it. She took out her skill book and began practicing as well.

Gu Ningyue knew perfectly well that this was a spatial dimension, and said gratefully, "Thank you. I absolutely cannot hold you back."

Jiang Qingwan smiled and said, "Keep it up."

Gu Ningyue spun around like a top, relentlessly hacking and slashing.

The hourglass in my hand serves as a timekeeping device.

Jiang Qingwan woke Gu Ningyue, who was engrossed in cultivation: "It's time. Let's go."

When Gu Ningyue stepped out of the space again, she was already at the peak of the third tier.

---

Gao Fan was still on duty at the base gate today. He sincerely prayed, "Have a safe journey."

The gate closed, and Jiang Qingwan and Gu Ningyue waved goodbye.

"Have you heard of Phoenix Mountain?" Jiang Qingwan asked.

"I've heard of it, but I've never been there," Gu Ningyue answered honestly.

“I’ve been there once, otherwise it would be hard to find here,” Jiang Qingwan shared her travel experience. “But this time it’s a self-driving trip, my first time.”

Gu Ningyue was both amused and exasperated. "Sister, you're making it sound like we're on a vacation."

Jiang Qingwan replied slowly and deliberately, "Isn't it just tourism? The mountains in the scenic area. A self-driving tour. Don't worry."

Gu Ningyue relaxed, knowing that Jiang Qingwan must have made thorough preparations before saying that.

All we encountered along the way were small Karami zombies, none of whom were any of them to fight.

Gu Ningyue killed them one by one, and even used a metal hook to pull back the zombie crystal cores.

Looking at the pitiful number of crystal cores in the bag, Gu Ningyue silently counted, "When will I be able to pay back all the crystal cores I owe you?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Qingwan glanced at the crystal core in Gu Ningyue's arms and said, "Don't return it. It was all a gift for you. I never said I was borrowing it."

Gu Ningyue tied a bow on the bag, then weighed it in her hand; it was surprisingly light.

The crystal nucleus and the plastic bag made a clanging sound.

It can't be filled up, it simply can't be filled up.

Gu Ningyue sighed softly, "That makes sense, but I still feel I need to pay you back. I'll just shamelessly pay you back a little less."

"We've arrived at Phoenix Mountain." Jiang Qingwan gazed at the majestic mountain before her.

Stepping into Phoenix Mountain, one immediately feels the temperature drop by ten degrees, and the air is thick with dampness.

Jiang Qingwan activated her divine sense to scan the mountain map.

The creatures were so numerous that it was impossible to tell whether they were zombies or people.

In the map of consciousness, a patch of green light was particularly abundant, moving slowly and steadily toward Jiang Qingwan.

This is probably the Tier 3 wood-type zombie mentioned in the mission details.

Jiang Qingwan also moved at a constant speed in the direction of the green light.

It really is a wood-type zombie!

"Hehehe," the wood-type zombie heard Jiang Qingwan make a threatening sound.

The wood-type zombies remained stationary, while the withered trees on either side of Jiang Qingwan suddenly became lush and green.

Without a doubt, this was done by a wood-type zombie.

The tangled vines, carrying a fierce wind, rushed towards Jiang Qingwan and Gu Ningyue.

Jiang Qingwan raised her hand, and the rattan was set ablaze.

The wood-type zombie tilted its head, and then more menacing vines sprouted from it.

There was movement beneath my feet.

Something is about to break through the ground!

"Watch out—" Jiang Qingwan grabbed Gu Ningyue and lifted her into the air.

The spot where I was standing was now covered with clumps of thorns.

Seeing that its two attacks were thwarted, the wood-type zombie rolled its gray-white eyes and took out a leaf from its hand.

The leaves rustled in the wind.

All sorts of zombies suddenly appeared from the corner.

"Oh no, this is an army of zombies!" Gu Ningyue exclaimed, clinging to Jiang Qingwan's arm.

"It's alright." Jiang Qingwan created a barrier to isolate the mountain beneath her feet.

Jiang Qingwan slowly descended with Gu Ningyue.

Various supernatural abilities appeared in the sky, displaying a dazzling array of colors that illuminated the gloomy and dark Phoenix Mountain.

"No problem." Surrounded by supernatural abilities, Jiang Qingwan showed no fear on her face; instead, she smiled.

A raging fire scorched everything.

All the attack abilities disappeared, and some zombies that didn't have time to retract their abilities were directly consumed by the fire.

"Are these all the shrimp soldiers and crab generals?" Jiang Qingwan softly called out to the air.

These words were certainly not something Jiang Qingwan made up.

Within the map of consciousness, there was a cluster of purple light, shining exceptionally brightly.

It is twice the size of the green light.
