Chapter 118 Bloodstained Corpse Cave

The small mirror in Sun Gui's hand instantly came to life after absorbing the blood of six people.

The previously mottled and blurry mirror surface had become smooth. Only then could Yan Qing finally see clearly that this small mirror was actually a very ancient-looking bronze mirror.

Sun Gui reached out and wiped the mirror, and the entire mirror began to emit a hazy light. Then he pointed it at the wall and began to reflect it inch by inch.

"Nine Doubts Mirror of Nanshan!"

Yue Qi's voice was filled with undisguised surprise, which was understandable given the immense reputation of the "Nine Doubts Mirror of Nanshan."

Legend has it that it can see through all illusions, and all magical variables are powerless in its presence.

"But didn't the Nine Doubts Mirror of Nanshan disappear as early as the Han Dynasty?" Yue Qi did indeed know quite a lot.

"It is said that when Emperor Wu of Han was building his mausoleum, Maoling, he was missing a treasure for guarding the tomb, so he sent people to look for it. However, the item had already been missing for decades, so Emperor Wu had to give up in the end."

After hearing his explanation, everyone else had an "I see" expression. Their fear of the Sun family deepened even further.

Sun Gui acted quickly and soon found a small flaw in the mountain wall. Upon opening it, he discovered it was indeed a mechanical lock.

The Nine Doubts Mirror of Nanshan truly lives up to its name!

With the lock in place, the rest was much simpler. The oldest of the four men Sun Qiang brought happened to be a master of mechanisms. He opened it without much effort.

When the mechanism door opened, everyone realized that what they had thought was the tomb passage was actually just an outer structure resembling a city wall.

The real tomb passage begins now.

The Sun brothers took out a series of measuring tools from their backpacks, fiddled with them for a long time, and finally confirmed that everything inside the tomb passage was normal.

"The tomb passage looks like it's been opened by outsiders for the first time, so the deathly aura and corpse energy inside must be extremely strong. Just to be on the safe side, everyone should take one each."

Sun Gui took out a small bottle of blood-red pills and distributed them to everyone.

Looking at the pill in her palm, which emitted a faint smell of blood, Yan Qing instinctively felt extremely uncomfortable. She didn't want to eat it.

"What is this?" The one who asked was Mu Xiao, who hadn't spoken much until now. He brought the pill to his nose, smelled it, and frowned.

"There's something strange about this."

Sun Gui burst into laughter, "Mu Xiao, you are indeed very knowledgeable! That's right, this pill was made by me using the fresh flesh and blood that the strange creature willingly cut off, so I guarantee it is completely free of contamination."

"How is this possible?!" It's almost a consensus that the bizarre flesh and blood will corrupt adventurers.

This time it was Sun Qiang's turn to laugh. "You may not know, but this pill is a barrier-breaking pill passed down from our ancestors. It has the effect of concealing one's life force. Now, my brother and I have improved the formula using strange flesh and blood. After taking this, even strange creatures will not deliberately come looking for you."

So that's how it is. If what he said is true, then this elixir must be extremely valuable.

Moreover, the Sun brothers were very sincere and both swallowed the Breakthrough Pill in one gulp.

Sure enough, Yan Qing heard Lingxi's voice in her mind, "Master, I can't sense their presence anymore."

Looking at Yue Qi again, his brows furrowed, presumably because he had heard Wuming's telepathic message. After only a moment's hesitation, he swallowed the blood-red Breakthrough Pill in one gulp.

He was moving so fast that Yan Qing didn't have time to stop him.

"It's alright. It seems we should benefit from Brother Sun's good fortune with such a miraculous medicine."

Yue Qi's answer pleased the Sun brothers, who couldn't help but think more highly of him.

Now that someone had started, everyone else followed suit. Then, once again, the Sun brothers led the way, and everyone entered the mechanism door in pairs.

The moment she entered, Yan Qing felt the extremely familiar smell of blood again, which permeated the entire air.

But it's quite strange; the tomb passages are all made of huge bluestone blocks, and the walls on both sides are completely bare. There's not a drop of blood, not even a single animal hair to be seen.

This makes one curious: where does such a strong bloody aura come from?

Continuing along the bluestone path, the group soon arrived at a vertical courtyard. Although the shape resembled a courtyard, strangely, the courtyard was not "in the sky," meaning it wasn't directly above their heads.

Instead, beneath their feet, a large, dark pit suddenly appeared on the originally flat bluestone path, square in shape and bottomless at first glance.

The strong smell of blood was coming from the bottom of this large pit.

"stop!"

As the leader, Sun Qiang naturally noticed something amiss. They hadn't encountered any traps or mechanisms along the way, which was unusual in itself.

"Go! Turn on the high-powered flashlight and see what's down in the well," he ordered a member of the Sun family.

After seeing what was in the courtyard below, everyone couldn't help but gasp.

Using the faint light from their powerful flashlights, they could clearly see that at the bottom of the courtyard, there were layers upon layers of corpses piled up haphazardly, so many that they were impossible to count.

The most horrifying thing was that the corpses had clearly only been dead for a short time. Among the top few corpses, some seemed not quite dead yet, with layers of blood gushing out from the huge holes behind them.

"Fifth Uncle! Second Brother—!!!"

A heart-wrenching scream jolted everyone back to their senses, and then they saw the boy kneeling directly by the courtyard, his hands covering his head, his heart burning with anguish.

"No—!! Who did it?! Tell me! Who did it?! I'll fight you to the death—!!"

The boy's crazed gaze swept over the twelve people present, one by one. "Tell me, did you do it?!"

"Bullshit!" This man was clearly a bit insane; under immense pain, it wouldn't be surprising what he might do. So Yan Qing didn't hold back at all, stepping forward and throwing seven or eight large slingshots at him in one go.

The boy was stunned by the sudden outburst of this "gentle and beautiful young lady's" slap. But thanks to her, he finally calmed down and at least stopped going crazy.

"You, you dare hit me!!" That fierce woman—he'd never remember any of her kindness!

"I'm going to hit you!" Yan Qing had no intention of continuing to associate with this kid anyway, so hitting him would save her trouble.

"Are you stupid! We arrived after you, and you told us where we are yourself. Why are you taking your anger out on us?!"

Yan Qing pointed into the cave and said, "Things that fall from the sky are rarely good things. Now you've seen it for yourself."
