Chapter 146 This damned teamwork!

The Heavenly Snow Serpent opened its massive jaws and let out a fierce roar. In that short moment, Yan Qing, with her sharp eyes, noticed that there seemed to be something inside the serpent's mouth.

But there was no time. Just as Wen Jiajia fell, she instinctively grabbed the other person's arm.

"Help me—" Wen Jiajia was half-hanging in the air, barely managing to stay upright only because she was supported by Yan Qing's arm.

"Come on, try grabbing the wall with your other hand now, see if you can get any strength!" Yan Qing grabbed her hand tightly and quickly encouraged her.

Wen Jiajia's two eerie guards also stepped forward, each grabbing one of her bodies tightly.

And so, with the three of them working together, they finally managed to pull Miss Wen up.

Having just escaped death, Wen Jiajia, disregarding her fear, immediately grabbed Yan Qing's hand and ran forward quickly.

"It's up here!"

Yan Qing caught a glimpse out of the corner of her eye that the Tianqi Snow Serpent had actually climbed up the path that had carried them. Because of its extremely heavy body, the path was littered with loose stones wherever it crawled, and it looked like it was about to be destroyed.

The two of them were nearly scared out of their wits. Why did this damned snake suddenly start targeting them?

Yan Qing ran forward as fast as she could, but her brain was working at lightning speed.

Something's not right. The Heavenly Snow Serpent wouldn't just be chasing the two of them for no reason; there must be something going on!

Lost in thought for a moment, she tripped and stumbled. To prevent herself from falling, she quickly grabbed onto the leg of the monk Yuanhui in front of her.

Then, the leg instinctively tightened.

She instantly realized that Monk Yuanhui was faking fainting!

Regardless of what the monk actually meant, just based on his feigning unconsciousness, Yan Qing was certain that this monk was hiding something from them.

Just then, she caught a glimpse of Yue Qi gesturing to her again on the mountainside to her side.

"There's a ghost among the monks! Run!"

Yan Qing's heart jumped instantly; it really was this person who did it!

She wanted to warn Wen Jiajia, but there were two strange figures and a large monk between them. If she spoke directly, she would definitely alert them.

What should we do then?!

"Wen Jiajia!" Yan Qing suddenly shouted, startling Wen Jiajia, who was focused on running away. What's wrong with this brat now!

"I've disliked you for a long time! I've had my eye on you ever since you were in Yongning Alley!" Unexpectedly, Yan Qing started cursing.

"It's all because of you, you treacherous villain, that I almost died in the Seven Fiends Subduing Demon Formation! If I had really died this time, I would haunt you even as a ghost! Really, I would haunt you even as a ghost!"

Wen Jiajia was initially going to be angry, but then she thought, wait a minute, this brat has saved her twice already, if she really wanted to settle scores, would she only be angry now?

Her mind worked quickly, and she immediately noticed the difference in Yan Qing's words. The phrase "I'll haunt you even as a ghost" seemed to have been repeated more than once, right?

Could this be what she really wanted to tell herself?

"I'll haunt you even as a ghost!" Ghost—no, ghost—something eerie?! Could there be something eerie among them?!

Wen Jiajia immediately thought of the strange monk Yuanhui carried on the back of her body. If she remembered correctly, when she woke him up, she beat him up and turned his head into a pig's head.

And so, he remained unconscious. Only then did they carry him on their backs and begin their escape.

But what if Monk Yuanhui had been awake from the beginning?

Wen Jiajia got goosebumps all over, but deliberately put on an angry face. She retorted angrily.

"You brat, who's afraid of who? You wait and see! If I really become a ghost, I'll drag you down to the eighteenth level of hell with me! You don't believe me? Just try it and we'll see!"

As soon as she said that, Yan Qing knew that Wen Jiajia understood her meaning. Wen Jiajia was implying that the two of them should take the opportunity to work together and throw Monk Yuanhui off the cliff.

So she retorted, "We'll see, you brat! I doubt you can even get around the bend ahead!"

She was implying to Wen Jiajia that there was a narrow bend ahead, where it would be very easy to fall if one was not careful, and that the two of them could make their move there.

"Fine, you just wait!" came Wen Jiajia's response.

After climbing forward at high speed for several dozen meters, just as she was about to reach the bend, Wen Jiajia suddenly cried out and knelt down on the ground.

The strange guard behind her, following her secret telepathic instructions, lost his balance and bumped into the monk Yuanhui who was being carried on someone's back.

Just then, the strange creature carrying him was clinging to the mountainside, struggling to turn sideways. Monk Yuanhui's entire body was suspended in mid-air, and with that collision, his body instinctively fell downwards.

Yan Qing could have easily helped him, but she was focused on looking down at the road and didn't see the monk Yuanhui being hit, so she naturally missed it.

In the moment of crisis, Monk Yuanhui suddenly woke up and clung tightly to the strange clothes that were carrying him.

Wen Jiajia revealed a strange smile where he couldn't see her.

The next moment, the enormous and eerie guard suddenly vanished from the spot, turning into a card that floated back into Wen Jiajia's hand.

Monk Yuanhui glared angrily, "Wen-jia-jia-!!"

He couldn't realize that the girl surnamed Wen had seen through him.

Unfortunately, it was too late; Monk Yuanhui's body crashed heavily to the ground. From such a height, Yan Qing could hear the sound of bones breaking.

A small burst of blood erupted on the ground, and amidst the blood and gore, the monk Yuanhui's shattered face miraculously reformed itself.

His eyes were bloodied and mangled, the eye sockets smashed into black holes, from which a single green eyeball peeked out, staring intently in Wen Jiajia's direction, and he spoke, word by word.

"Wen Jiajia, you just wait!"

Then his body twisted upside down in a bizarre way, head up and back down, his limbs twisted 180 degrees, and he became a blood-soaked "Spider-Man".

The "Spider-Man" monk Yuanhui used all four limbs to climb the wall.

Wen Jiajia was so shocked by this scene that she almost vomited again. Yan Qing grabbed her by the collar and slapped her across the head.

"Stop dawdling! Escaping is the priority, run!"

The two began to climb quickly towards the top of the mountain.

The Tianqi Snow Serpent, which had been relentlessly chasing them, suddenly turned its head and pursued the "Spider-Man" monk Yuanhui.
