Chapter 3 The Corpse of the Budgerigar and Sweetie's Diary

The purple room was surprisingly clean, with designer bags and cosmetics everywhere, and even the bed sheets were Fendi's classic Italian luxury custom design.

It's obvious she's rich. No, extremely rich.

Besides a dreamy princess bed and a matching classic wardrobe and dressing table, there's a simple desk near the window.

It's a standard solid wood design, and I'd guess it costs only a few hundred yuan. It looks completely out of place with the room's decor.

The desk didn't even have a matching stool; the stool in front of it was clearly moved from the dressing table.

The desk faces the windowsill, which is slightly ajar. A blue-green budgie is perched on the pet stand outside the window, preening its feathers.

Yan Qing immediately stepped forward and closed the window.

There was a book on the table with the title page: "The Devil Among Us".

Upon opening it, I found it was a diary.

It seems this is the room owner's diary.

Unlike the intact cover, many words inside the diary were clearly smudged and looked dirty and messy.

It took her a lot of effort to decipher the handwriting. —It was an emotional diary entry.

"Number 2, He came, #%#%#%#Han%##%,%%#threatening ###%%#, I didn't want to ##%#%%. He still left."

Yan Qing was completely confused. It seemed that the female protagonist of this dormitory had some kind of conflict with someone.

Also, who is this "He"?

The second piece looks completely different. Not only is the handwriting clean and neat, but the paper itself is also spotless.

The entire story revolves around her and a boy.

The diary describes the boy as having "soft, dark hair, long, slightly upturned eyelashes, and a faint smile that brightens the whole world."

Yan Qing guessed that this boy must be a sunny and warm-hearted type.

The following entries in her diary describe her sweet romance with that boy.

Yan Qing read it word by word and found that besides drinking a bellyful of sour love, it had absolutely no nutritional value.

Her immediate priority is to find a way out of the instance. — "The Rules of Clearing the Instance".

Unfortunately, after searching the entire house, no clues were found.

Just then, a loud "bang" came from outside the window.

The blue-green budgie crashed straight into the windowpane and died.

A small splash of blood splattered on the glass; it was black and strangely shaped.

Upon closer inspection, the black substance was actually putrid, pus-filled blood mixed with some unknown mucus.

The budgie's carcass had disappeared. Yan Qing calmed herself down and began searching the room for the "gift" the girl in pink had mentioned.

On the dressing table, there was a box wrapped in colored plastic paper, with a pink butterfly flower tied on it.

Upon opening it, I found the box was full of mangled chunks of meat, still covered in fresh blood, making it look exceptionally fresh.

Yan Qing even saw several unidentified objects that looked like human fingers.

The surge of blood energy made her dizzy, and she couldn't help but take a step back and sit down on the bed.

When she came to her senses, she realized that she had knocked the gift box over at some point. There was some sticky blood on her fingers.

Oh no, she's been contaminated!

The bracelet on her wrist emitted a red light once again, and a cool sensation traveled through the bracelet to her brain, making her feel a little better.

It seems that this so-called gift was a trick by the girl in pink, with the aim of corrupting her.

The second rule of the post-apocalyptic travel guide:

Rules and pollution coexist, and "it" can pollute the rules. Please keep your eyes open and protect yourself.

She initially thought this meant the rules could be corrupted, but the second half of the sentence was actually more subtle. It suggests that people, besides the rules, can also be unintentionally corrupted, which is why it's important to protect oneself.

Yan Qing's gaze fell on the gift box; this was a blatant scheme. Even if you followed the rules, you'd still be contaminated the moment you touched the gift box.

Luckily, she bought the bracelet in advance. Now it seems that the bracelet's function is to identify dangers in advance and help her remove mild pollution.

This feature is great; she likes it. It was worth spending so many spirit coins to get it.

As for whether it would be effective against severe pollution, she wouldn't dare risk her life to try.

She quickly wiped her fingers clean, sat on the bed, and suddenly realized that the sheet was a little too long, so she bent down and lifted it up.

Suddenly, there was a knocking sound at the door.

Yan Qing reluctantly put down the bedsheet and walked to the door. Through the peephole, she saw a huge, bloody hole. Tiny white maggots crawled around inside, looking particularly gruesome.

Yan Qing belatedly realized that it was a person's eye. However, the eyeballs were long gone, leaving only rotting flesh and empty sockets.

"Who is it?" she asked, feigning ignorance.

There was no sound from the doorway, so she asked again.

The banging on the door grew louder and stronger.

The door suddenly made a slight creaking sound.

Yan Qing realized something was wrong; the door wasn't very sturdy. She worried that if she kept banging on it, the door would break.

Touching the bracelet on her wrist, she decisively opened the door.

The next moment, she met a smiling face devoid of eyes. Sure enough, those two fleshy holes were this person's two eyes.

However, besides having her eyes gouged out, her ears had also been cut off by someone. Blood and flesh were oozing from her ears, and black blood flowed from the wounds, dripping onto the ground as she walked.
