Chapter 43 A 90% Mortality Rate

It's true, what you don't want always comes to pass. There's no one better than me when it comes to bad luck.

The car stopped in a large open space, where two other identical buses were already parked.

In the only open space in the middle of the square, there were seventy or eighty people of all ages and varying heights and builds, but each of them looked dejected.

The release of the five-star dungeon must have certainly given everyone quite a shock.

"Alright, passengers, we have arrived at the final stop. Please line up in an orderly manner to disembark." The ticket seller turned on the loudspeaker and began to repeat this sentence.

The carriage was crowded with people, but no one voluntarily got off.

Yan Qing was already busy carrying Yue Qi back on her back, then she took Xiao Tao's hand and was the first to get off the car.

As she passed the ticket seller, she sincerely said...

"Thanks!"

The saleswoman smiled at her, and Yan Qing heard her say something very quickly, but it was too fast for her to hear clearly. Xiao Tao, on the other hand, had wide, round eyes, clearly understanding.

Not long after getting off the bus, the people behind me began to get off reluctantly, urged by the ticket seller.

That's right. As mentioned in "The Apocalypse," the mortality rate in five-star dungeons is over 90%. This means that out of these hundred or so people, at most only ten or so will survive.

Therefore, it's understandable that everyone is naturally resistant to this place and unwilling to come down.

However, five-star dungeons aren't a place where you can do whatever you want. Here, only the rules can keep you alive; everything else is a dead end.

A commotion broke out in the crowd in the square; everyone had noticed the newcomers. Yan Qing even heard several people talking.

"It seems this should be the last batch. Wenshan Sanatorium will be open soon."

After they said that, Yan Qing realized why she felt something was off. It turned out there was only a square here, and there wasn't even a trace of the Wenshan Sanatorium.

Moreover, the plaza where they stood was right on the edge of a cliff. Looking down, apart from the path they had come from, there were sheer drop-offs on all sides, making it an exceptionally terrifying sight.

After everyone had disembarked, they had all reached the center of the square. At that moment, the three buses suddenly closed their doors and began to return the way they came.

Yan Qing could only see a distance of about a few dozen meters. The buses drove into a corner one after another and disappeared in a row.

At the same time, she heard the clanging sound of chains behind her.

Everyone quickly turned around and saw that at the top of the cliff, directly in front of them, where a thick fog had previously covered the area, a long iron chain had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, extending all the way to the edge of the cliff.

Everyone gasped in astonishment, including Yan Qing. She had never seen such a massive iron chain in her life; it was truly the first time she had ever witnessed anything like it.

Xiao Tao quietly crept up behind Yan and whispered in a voice only the two of them could hear,

"Big sister, I just heard what the ticket seller said. She said, 'Let us remember, turning right is your lucky code.'"

"To the right?" Yan Qing really didn't understand, but she still wisely took Xiao Tao's hand and quietly moved to the right side of the crowd.

Then, another loud "whoosh" sound came, and this time everyone saw a huge iron chain slowly descending from the thick fog in the void, side by side with the previous iron chain, forming the shape of a suspension bridge.

The chains looked enormous, somewhat resembling ancient bronze chains. Each chain was as thick as two people could hug. Yan Qing clicked her tongue in amazement; could this really be made by human hands?

However, before she could even be surprised, a graceful figure slowly walked over from the thick fog opposite.

The woman, wearing sky-high heels over ten inches high, walked on the suspended iron chains as if she were walking on flat ground, her movements light and swift. Before long, she reached the end of the chains.

When she got closer, she could see clearly that it was a woman who looked quite fashionable.

The newcomer was dressed in a beige Chanel haute couture suit, with matching high heels, and her hair was neatly styled in a bun.

The woman looked to be in her thirties. Although she was quite ordinary-looking, her exquisite makeup added five points to her attractiveness. Coupled with her standard professional smile, she perfectly captured the air of an elite.

The woman first surveyed the square, then a satisfied smile appeared on her face, her red lips slightly parted.

"Welcome to Wenshan Sanatorium. You are about to become a part of our sanatorium, where you will enjoy a unique experience."

Her words sent chills down Yan Qing's spine. Was this a blatant threat or just a threat?

The crowd erupted in a frenzy at the woman's words, their emotions quite divided. Yan Qing was somewhat surprised to find that only a few people showed signs of worry; the majority were actually eager to try.

At this moment, the woman continued to speak, and she casually pointed to the three people at the front, "You three, come here and stand in front of me."

The three people she pointed to were two men and one woman. They exchanged glances and could only step forward somewhat nervously. The three of them stood side by side, forming a line in front of the woman.

“Alright, next up is you all—” The woman pointed to the others in the square, “Each of you, choose someone and stand behind them. Remember, I only give you five minutes. After five minutes, anyone who hasn’t lined up properly will be eliminated.”
