The last rule of the "Patient Rules":
If your fellow patients disappear, please believe that they must have been discharged from the hospital.
Yan Qing remembers clearly that when she scanned this rule with the sphere, the writing on it was a bright red, like blood.
"Dr. Yan, Dr. Yan?" the head nurse called out to her.
Yan Qing snapped out of her daze and looked at the head nurse again. She heard the head nurse say, "The security office just received a notification that a new patient will be admitted tomorrow. Should we clean the empty rooms in our ward?"
Yan Qing nodded and asked casually, "Head Nurse, how is this usually handled?"
The head nurse smiled, revealing a row of neat, white teeth. "In the past, the doctors would leave the cases to me directly. This time, since Dr. Yan is here, I'm not familiar with your preferences, so I've come to ask you."
"In that case, let's follow the usual procedure. The ward is in your care." Yan Qing agreed readily.
The head nurse received a satisfactory answer and left, her high heels clicking as she went.
Yan Qing was standing at the entrance of the corridor when she happened to see Xiao Shuo feeding medicine to a patient.
She hadn't seen that patient before; it seemed to be someone who had stayed behind previously. The patient was thin and looked rather frail, but he was surprisingly rebellious in resisting taking the medicine.
Xiao Shuo, on the other hand, seemed to have become a completely different person. He straddled the patient, pinned down the patient's hands, and then easily dislocated the patient's jaw, viciously shoving the medicine into the patient's mouth.
This whole thing terrified Yan Qing. Was this really the Xiao Shuo she knew? He looked incredibly fierce, his eyes gleaming green, as if he was about to devour her alive.
Is this still the same timid but kind-hearted person? They've practically turned into a demon!
Yue Qi noticed that she had been standing at the door for a while and, fearing that she might attract the other person's attention, quietly pulled her away. Only after entering room 816 did she finally breathe a sigh of relief.
