Chapter 40 Establishing the Starting Village (Part 2)

"Big instant noodles, and there's even a sausage inside!" The young people present all had their eyes shining with excitement. They didn't pay any attention to Xiao Yi at all. They directly picked up a bowl from the plate and started showing off, not caring whether it was cooked or not.

As for Brother Hua, he politely waited until the very end and personally took the bowl of instant noodles from Xiao Yi's hand.

Looking at the instant noodles in his hand, Brother Hua choked up a little, and even couldn't help but tear up.

After so long, he finally saw this delicious food again.

"Thank you, thank you!"

"You're welcome," Su Luo said coldly. "There are drinks on the table, help yourself to whatever you like."

Upon hearing this, the young people who were bragging about their instant noodles all looked at the coffee table. Sure enough, there were some drinks that were common before the apocalypse. The group excitedly shouted and grabbed one without hesitation.

In the end, Su Luo noticed that only Hua Ge and the bespectacled, refined girl hadn't taken anything.

"You two, aren't you going to have a drink?"

"No, no, I don't like these drinks." Brother Hua waved his hand, while the girl blushed with embarrassment.

"Um, I can't drink it right now."

I understand.

You really shouldn't drink these things once a month; they're bad for your health.

"Where are you all going?" Su Luo asked casually when they had almost finished eating.

"Go to the Guishi Commercial Street in the provincial capital and exchange some things."

"Why do we have to go to the Guishi Commercial Street in the provincial capital?" Su Luo asked, puzzled. She thought to herself, isn't this place closer to her commercial street? Why go the long way around?

"Sister, to tell you the truth, I heard that the Guishi Commercial Street in the provincial capital is having some kind of promotional event near the end of the year, and the prices are lower than those in other commercial streets."

"We're not exactly rolling in money either, so of course we'll try to save as much as we can."

Fang Ming, who had originally wanted to stop Brother Hua, hadn't even had a chance to speak when he heard Brother Hua reveal all their secrets.

"What's the rush? This girl is a good girl. She's treated us so well, we should treat her the same way!" Hua Ge turned to Fang Ming and said seriously.

Fang Ming: ...

"Alright, alright, what else can I say after you've already said it?" Seeing this, Fang Ming glanced at Su Luo, wiped his mouth, and said, "Thanks."

"No need to thank me, you all paid for it anyway," Su Luo said calmly, his gaze sweeping over everyone. "Six bowls of Big Instant Noodles, four bottles of Coke, and 100,000 Hell Coins in total. No bargaining."

"One hundred thousand?!" Upon hearing this price, Fang Ming stood up in a fit of rage, pointing at Su Luo, "Why don't you just rob me?"

"You can't buy this anywhere else, especially since you said you could buy it with money. What, are you going back on your word now?"

That's what she said, but as she spoke, Su Luo didn't even glance at them. She made herself a cup of bubble tea, seemingly fearless and perhaps too carefree.

"Who knew you'd be asking for such an exorbitant price? These things only cost a few dollars..."

"How much?" Upon hearing this, Su Luo put down her milk tea cup and looked at the man who had spoken with amusement. "Sure, I'll give you a few dollars. Go and buy it for me now."

Upon hearing Su Luo's words, Fang Ming's momentum immediately plummeted. He was joking, though. Even though there were free shopping deals everywhere these days, he was still a bit timid about going out alone.

"Alright, alright, stop arguing, stop arguing." Seeing things were getting out of hand, Brother Hua quickly stood up to mediate. "Sorry, sister, our brother here has a bit of a temper, but he's straightforward and not a bad person at heart. We're sorry, we'll cover the cost, but we can only raise a maximum of 90,000. You see..."

Ninety thousand ghost money were their lifeline. If they could buy some food and seeds, perhaps they could really hold on for a while, but now...

"OK."

Su Luo accepted the 90,000 ghost money without ceremony, casually counted it, and tossed it onto the small table with the cute pink long-eared rabbit on the side. "I'm still short 10,000. I happen to need a few more people here."

"We'll do it, we'll do it!" Brother Hua pressed down on Fang Ming and the others, signaling them to calm down. They were the ones who owed the money, and it was only right that they pay it back.

It's not like we're going to kill them; they're just going to work for a few days to pay off their debts, especially in this kind of environment. No matter how you look at it, they're the ones who are getting the better deal, Hua thought to himself.

However, Fang Ming was a little unhappy. He glared at Hua Ge and angrily prepared to leave, only to remember that this was Su Luo's room.

"Your accommodations are over there!" Su Luo pointed to the sofa and carpet not far away, implying that they should either sleep on the sofa or sleep on the floor.

"You!" Fang Ming looked at Su Luo with displeasure. "Your house is so big, with so many rooms. What's wrong with giving us one? We're supposed to work for you! How can we work if we don't get enough sleep?"

"Sleep if you want, get out if you don't." To be honest, if Su Luo wasn't worried about making a mess of his room, he would have slapped him by now. "I don't mind sending you to the nearest weird dungeon."

Upon hearing Su Luo's substantial threat, Fang Ming opened his mouth, but ultimately appeared to obediently squatted down on the ground, preparing to go to sleep.

Seeing this, Hua Ge felt a little embarrassed and apologized repeatedly. The bespectacled, refined girl also stood up to help persuade them. Although the others did not express their opinions, their expressions were not much better.

That night.

Su Luo deliberately left the food, drinking water, and other items in the living room unattended and went straight back to her room to rest. The moment the door closed, Fang Ming, who had been asleep, suddenly opened his eyes.

"Hey, wake up, everyone!"

He woke up his companions, who looked at him in confusion. "What's wrong, Fang Ming? Why aren't you sleeping at night?"
