Chapter 96: No Name (1/2)

Military security zone in the main urban area.

The originally silent and solemn army defense line was now in full swing.

Countless fully armed iron-blooded warriors stood behind the bunkers, firing their assault rifles wildly into the fog. The continuous gunshots aroused the soldiers' passionate fighting spirit, and the flames from the muzzles illuminated the dim environment.

In the fog, densely packed zombies rushed forward in groups. As soon as the dozen zombies in front approached the shooting range, their heads were immediately shot into sieves. Soon, more zombies rushed forward, stepping on the corpses of their own kind.

In the makeshift trench, a dozen machine guns roared, and under the crossfire, the frenzied zombies collapsed to the ground before they could take two steps forward, piling up into small hills of corpses.

Before they had a minute to catch their breath, the next batch of zombies emerged from the fog, with a few even more bizarre figures looming among the zombies.

Gunshots rang out, and five zombies on all fours rushed into the trench under the cover of the zombie swarm. They were so fast that they left only an afterimage.

Countless gun muzzles followed the afterimages of the mutant zombies, venting their firepower. However, there were still two zombies rushing to the front of the trench. The mutant zombies' heads were covered with a layer of smooth mucus, and there was only a big mouth with sharp serrations on their faces. The stench that came in the face made the nearby soldiers feel nauseous.

The moment they crossed the trenches, the ferocious smiles on their faces were particularly terrifying.

Bang! Bang!

A few barely audible gunshots were heard, and several bloody holes exploded on the heads of the two mutant zombies. Their bodies stiffened for a moment, and then they fell to the ground with a bang.

On the high ground above several bungalows in the distance, snipers immediately put away their guns and evacuated to the rear.

The gunfire on the battle front never stopped, occasionally accompanied by explosions, and the hill of zombie corpses piled up higher and higher.

When the fog settled again, a three-meter-tall giant zombie emerged from the fog, followed by an unprecedented group of zombies, and a group of mutated zombies followed behind the giant zombie.

Bang!

Two rocket launchers accurately hit the giant zombie's head, and the aftermath of the explosion blew away the ordinary zombies around it.

A deafening roar came from the smoke and dust, and the giant zombie emerged unharmed. The terrifying aura of the first-level zombies inspired the zombie horde, and they rushed out of the trench madly.

The soldiers immediately used firepower to suppress the zombies from moving forward. The leading officer picked up the communicator and said, "A level 1 mutant zombie has appeared!"

After a burst of noise in the communicator, the officer finally heard the command clearly, "Well done, you have successfully attracted the attention of the zombies on the front line. Please retreat to the first line of defense in five minutes!"

Five minutes later, in the trenches, grenades, stun grenades, and smoke bombs were thrown at the densely packed zombies.

When the smoke cleared, there were no more gunshots.

The zombies looked at each other in bewilderment. The giant zombie suddenly looked up at the fog in the sky. Its biological instinct made it feel uneasy, and it subconsciously wanted to retreat.

The next second, the missile swooped down from the sky, breaking through the cover of the fog and smashing into the group of zombies like a falling meteorite with flames.

Bang!

The flames from the explosion destroyed all the buildings within sight. Trenches, bungalows, and high-rise buildings all collapsed under the long-range strike weapons that humans are proud of.

The zombie swarm at the center of the explosion was blown to pieces, leaving only a giant zombie struggling in vain on the charred ground. Its rotten skin became charred and broken. It climbed up several times and fell to the ground again, and finally its breath dissipated.

After a while, another group of zombies emerged from the fog, pounced madly on the corpse of the giant zombie and ate it up.

A large vulture swooped out from the mist, ripping the drone in the air into pieces with its sharp claws, and then pounced on the group of zombies below.
